The dental work itself was well done, the office is soothing and the environment is nice. On my second visit, I was told that my insurance was considered out of network BUT that they had MANY patients with my insurance and they would work to get most of my visit covered (it was just a routine cleaning and X-rays). the hygienist was lovely and very kind and sympathetic. I had to wait in the chair for a very long time after the cleaning to speak with the doctor (so long I had to make calls to cancel things and make alternate arrangements for my kids). When the dentist finally came in, she started a conversation about the high costs of running a dental practice?!? (We had only met one time before this). She then seemed shocked when she presented her very elaborate plan to me and I responded with "yes, lets please start with the most urgent and space treatment out because cost is a very serious concern and barrier". she then sent her hygienist in to ask me if I wanted veneers!!!!!! months later, a $500 bill arrived..... that did not at all match any of the estimates and promises I had been given for a simple cleaning and xrays. now that I am here looking through other reviews, I see that this is something other patients have experienced as well. truly unfortunate since it is a nice office with a great premise. read more

The worst. Be prepared for long wait times with an an appointment. Every 6 months Dr Melissa finds new issues on your teeth that cost $$$$$. They can't keep any staff .. run. My Wife has a feat of dentists and so do I. She had pain and needed to see a dentist. I found there website very pleasing and friendly and all women. They took good care of her and when she was done she said it was a great experience. She of course was scared at first, now she is ever more comfortable with them and will go to them every time. My husband and I followed Dr Melissa when she left Metro Dental Care to start her own practice over twenty years ago. The best dentist we ever had. Made the mistake of thinking of her as a close acquaintance. My husband and I just transitioned to Medicare two months ago. When I called the office to verify coverage I was told both of our Medicare plans are out of network. That's because she does not accept Medicare. Payment up front is required and the patient has to bill Medicare themselves for whatever compensation is available for being out of network. I contacted Dr Melissa to remind her that she told me years ago if we ever were on an insurance she was not in network with, that she would become in network. No anymore. Her words "It's a business decision". Unbelievable. It also has impacted our adult daughter who we referred there and she now finds herself out of network through her new employer plan. I'm so glad we could help her business grow to the point she now owns the building she is in. Lesson learned. This dentist is truly about the money. read more

My son had a dental cleaning and a few days later, one side of his retainer came unglued. I was charged $50 to reglue it and a few days later the same side came unglued again. I was charged another $50 when I felt they should have done it for free considering it was done just a few days prior. They said it was because his retainer wasn't done by them and was because of normal wear and tear. However, he had absolutely no issues prior to this cleaning. I will not be returning. read more

I am someone who has always dreaded going to the dentist. My dental phobia was real! I had a horrible dental experience that made it so I went for years without seeing a dentist, then I had tranquillity dental recommended to me. They are AMAZING!!! I am so happy I found this place. Dr. Melissa and her entire staff are completely amazing. I came here to get some worked removed that I wasn't happy with that was done elsewhere by another dentist. Dr. Melissa was very thorough in explaining how she could fix this. I trusted her judgement. Her dental assistant, Amanda, is also amazing! She helped Dr. Melissa and made me feel at ease and even took the time to show me the instruments she was going to use and she explained what each would do in order to help calm my nerves. They both took the time to carefully and conservatively remove the previous dental work to ensure that my teeth would not be compromised. They also made sure I was comfortable during this process. It's not often you find such compassionate, skilled, and lovely individuals all around. The energy here radiates positivity. They make sure to put your well being first and foremost. I despise going in for dental exams- which would explain why it had been a while since I'd had one- but my experience at Tranquility Dental could not have been more pleasant! The staff was incredibly kind and I felt like they really understood how to ease uncomfortable patients' nerves and not once did they 'shame' me for how long it had been. Shout out to both Dr. Katie and Hygienist Katie who were absolutely lovely. I love tranquility dental! I recently switched here from my childhood dentist because it was closer to work. But that benefit is just the beginning. I love that it is women owned and operated, they always are on time and send reminders about upcoming appointments. I also love that they do free teeth whitening for life with no strings attached. Seriously. You just have to show up for your appointments you make and they refill your whitening. They give you custom trays and everything. I have loved my experience at Tranquillity Dental since day 1. Dr. Melissa is extremely approachable, highly educated, and always available for questions. Her staff are all amazing and always super welcoming. Working in the medical field, it's hard for me to schedule appointments 6 months out, but a quick email to check for availabilities always works for me as her staff is super responsive and always helpful with any and all questions. Recently I have undergone crown placement, and although I was very nervous about the procedure and results, Dr. Melissa walked me through the steps with confidence. I am so much happier with my results and I cannot thank these people enough for changing my life. My teeth have always bothered me since I damaged them as a child, but now more than ever I have loved my smile. It has brought me confidence and relief that I never have worry about my self esteem. Ok, I'm sold. My experience in switching over to Tranquility and my first two visits were terrific; however, it is easy to give 5 stars when everything goes well. I find where the "rubber meets the road" is if an issue or problem develops. How a place responds and does...or does not resolve an issue is when you find out the true character of an organization. I had an issue with a new bruxism mouthguard fitting poorly. It is an expensive item. I called and the front desk immediately understood my issue and quickly scheduled a follow-up appointment. The RDA there was incredibly pleasant and competent and was able to listen to my concerns and then professionally modify the guard. I have now worked with a number of the staff members and find them to be very experienced. Perhaps more than that - it appears to be a place where employees are empowered to resolve issues themselves or know exactly who to speak to if they don't. I have had two appointments at Tranquility Dental. One exam/cleaning, and the other for a filling. The first time in was my first trip to the dentist in about 3 years. I was very impressed by all of the staff at Tranquility. LaLa, Kasey, Amanda, and Dr. Melissa were great. I have a slight phobia of going to the dentist, but I now believe that was because my previous dentist never took the time to explain the process and make me feel comfortable. This is not the case at Tranquility, On my first visit, everyone took the extra time to chat with me and explain what they were checking for and charting. This made me feel extremely comfortable and I didn't even mind returning for a filling the next week, which was absolutely painless. I was amazed. The BEST dental experience I've ever had. Dr. Melissa and all of her dental associates are amazing ( I can't remember their names at the moment). But phenomenal! I will be referring all of my friends and family to Dr. Melissa at Tranquility. So gentle, professional and results are great. My teeth have never looked better. She removed all of my silver fillings to enamel colored fillings and informed me that it not only is better for my tooth but it cosmetically looks better ! I also received free custom whitening trays with my cleaning and bought two Invisalign retainers to keep my teeth looking great. Of all the medical procedures - I am scared of dentists, not so much for the procedure itself, but for the unwanted stuff they recommend. So, when I moved to Minneapolis area about 6 months back I was looking for a good dentist in this area and found Dr Melissa on Yelp. I have been there for dental cleanup and checkup for all 5 members of my family - all my 3 kids were treated well, I has requested no x-rays for my kids which said ok. The cleaning procedures were done well, there were 2 teeth filling for me, and one teeth crown which was cracked for my wife. We were not rushed through, but were told that this is something that needs to be taken care of. We did not get these procedures done since our dental plan is pretty bad at the moment and our co-pays are high - we are waiting for another 3-6 months. They referred us to an Oral surgeon for my daughter to Dr Chavez who was pretty good as well. Overall - impressed with Dr Melissa and her staff. read more

Not suitable for emergencies! I can't rate their service because I wasn't able to get an appointment, but I can rate their unwillingness to help out someone with a toothache! I'm new to the area and do not yet have a regular dentist, so I naturally came to Yelp for suggestions. I called Tranquility first based on the reviews here but was told they would only be able to "take a look" at the tooth giving me pain - they wouldn't have time to do anything to treat it this week. I don't like to leave negative reviews but I find it pretty disappointing when a place with such glowing reviews can't make time for someone in pain. read more

Ok... I don't like Dentist's... from the time I was a child. I am a red head, so novocaine is not as effective on me... (don't believe me? Look it up) so going to the dentist was always a painful and unpleasant experience. During some routine work, they found i had a unique condition and exlained the issue very clearly. I couldn't agree more with other 5-star reviews for Tranquility Dental. Great staff, awesome facility, etc. What really impressed me was the response I received when I had a terrible wisdom tooth infection over the July 4th weekend. Every dental office was closed and urgent care told me I had to wait until Monday to speak to my dentist. While their office was closed, I was able to contact Dr. Melissa on her personal cell phone. Melissa took the time to call me back even though she was out of town with her family enjoying the holiday weekend. She gave me great advice on what to do in the mean time to manage my pain and I was able to see her first thing Monday morning. It was so reassuring to be able to speak to her on the phone and I was so grateful. I will be going to Tranquility Dental for life! read more

I would recommend Tranquility Dental to anyone in the Minneapolis area or surrounding suburbs. I live down in Shakopee, and it is worth the drive up here. Everyone is so friendly, fun to talk to, and the free teeth whitening for life program is awesome. I have found my forever dentist!! Dr Melissa is awesome and so is the rest of the staff! Had a cleaning done and they filled a tooth imperfection I had on my front tooth perfectly! I was afraid I would have a noticeable spot where they fixed it, but they used a tooth colored fill that matches perfectly! And they said if it ever looks the wrong color if I do a whitening treatment that they would fix it no problem! Dr. Melissa along with her team of RDAs took good care of me yesterday as I started my dental treatment plan. The first procedure was teeth scaling and root planing. I know it doesn't sound fun at all, but seriously.. I'd rather be sitting on that dental chair than be at work. Becky and Amanda did a great job, making me feel comfortable all throughout the process. They tell me what to expect on each step so I won't be shocked. After scaling the right quadrant, I had 2 teeth fillings replaced. Total of 3 hours but they all made the experience as comfortable as possible. This is no regular dental practice -- From the extremely cool building "Whiting Clinic" that they're located in (2nd floor) conveniently located on 394 (you can't miss it--the building actually glows at night!) to the people you'll encounter at ever stage of your visit, Tranquility Dental has something very special going for it. They'll tailor your visit to you...chatting as much at you want or getting you out on a promised time if you have another appointment. The point is, they really listen. Dr. Naidyhorski is simply the greatest. She's a wonderful dentist and she's always involved in some community something or other...and even saves her shredded office paper to donate to the humane society for animal bedding (what a big heart!). LaLa at the front is super sweet and the other staff are always smiling (their big perfect white pearly grins) that just make you feel good. I drive from Minnetonka to see them and it's well worth it (even though I probably pass several dentist practices along the way). I cannot say enough good about Dr. Melissa. Both her, and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. My front tooth had a small chip that was fixed multiple times at another dentist. I'd always end up back within a few weeks. Dr. Melissa fixed it once, and it's been almost a year and it looks great! She really took her time and treated me as if I was her priority. And then I realized she does that with all her patients. When you visit for a check-up, every member of her staff treats you as if they're trying hard to earn your business, even though you're already a customer. (Dayna does a great job!) They never rush you out of the office, or treat you like a number. You can tell her business has grown a ton because of such great service, but they still keep that small office feel, and treat you as if you are their only customer. Oh yeah, and you get free whitening trays for becoming a customer, and a free refill with every six month check up! How can you go wrong here? A+ job in my opinion! read more
