Most importantly, privately. This therapist gave me confidential agreement paperwork to sign that is a privacy document between her and I, but the issue is- she never signed her portion.. so anything that was being said was to be shared with whomever was paying for my counseling which was my aunt. My aunt used to pay for my sessions with this Andrea Schoon and then Andrea would then go and tell her all of my problems and personal issues. They were being told behind my back because I was aware by the knowledge my aunt had.. it was actually wild. It was really the biggest shock to me that when I brought it up to Andrea. Which is how I found out she never signed her side of the paperwork. This was a GIANT problem for me. Just the trust it takes for someone to sit down with someone, a stranger much less and talk about themselves, their issues and wanting to feel safe in that environment. Then to find out it's all actually all exposed and out in the open. Truly this is the most horrible thing you can do as a therapist is break a patient, therapist confidential agreement, so I would caution you to work with her and or her practice. Mind you, this happened to me when I was in my early adulthood and really finding myself as a woman / navigating complicated feelings of leaving home and starting college and navigating a tough relationship. Took me literally over a decade to talk to another therapist due to the trust damage that was caused by you, Andrea. Why am I writing this now? I am transitioning to a new therapist and it's been less than easy with my insurance which is PPO, for an in person therapist so I came to yelp for a suggestion. Then I saw this 5 star rating and began to laugh once I read the name. AGAIN. Trust at your own risk!! The information you share here is NOT safe and possibly not just going to stay between you and your therapist. My sister can write a review as well. After 3 DUI's, numerous issues with the law, and a life full of emptiness, I was at rock bottom. New Life Sprit Recovery changed my life, and until this day, 4 years later, I am still attending weekly bible studies at group sessions there--offered life long to any alumni. When my mom found this place I admit, I didn't think this "bible thumper" place was for me. I wanted to go to a "real" place I thought. What I found out was, I didn't' need to know what I was doing to my body while on drugs and alcohol. I needed to know WHY. The moment I walked in on that day to tour the house, the amount of peace and love that fell upon me was unreal. It was very apparent what was missing in my life. God's Love. His words of truth, telling me I was worthy, loved, and a daughter of the King. Words I had never ever heard before (yet I called myself a Christian) After the first week, time flew by, chains fell off me, and miracles happened. I loved being there and tried to stay an extra 30 days even! What other "rehab" would that happen at?! It was insane! I can honestly say that if it wasn't for New Life, I am not sure I would be around today. Every person on staff there is God ordained to be there and true servants of God. Everyone there has been through their own struggles, can relate, and can offer you words of encouragement, advice, and genuine love. Some of my best friends I met there, and know they will be with me to the end. I was in the center with some people who had been to NINE different rehabs, and said nothing had worked and broke their barriers, until then. This place isn't about being locked down and coddling you for 30 or 60 days. They want to set you free, and find out why you are doing the things you area doing. I never even knew why myself!! By still being connected to New Life, I see lives change daily from people coming and leaving. This place is a blessing to anyone who comes near it and I consider it a privilege to have had the experience I have had through it. I really wanted to talk about my experience with ADHD testing with Dr. Zandi. From our first conversation, I felt very seen, heard, and understood. Dr. Zandi is a very compassionate and intelligent individual and the whole testing process was an extremely positive experience. I really appreciated how he took time with me to walk me through the results of the testing in detail and in a colloquial way so I had a solid understanding of what the information he provided me meant. Dr. Zandi also provided me with many helpful recommendations on things to incorporate in my life to support my wellbeing given the results of our testing and conversations. I also wanted to note that I ran into an issue with my insurance. My insurance misquoted the cost of my testing and I did not find out until after the fact. The representative I spoke with from AO was able to provide me with a clear understanding of what happened and was so patient with me as I worked through the confusion at my insurance provider's error. The detailed record keeping from AO in their conversations with my insurance provider as well as the knowledgeable representative I spoke with allowed me to file a claim with my insurance provider that was approved. I commend them for their attention to detail and diligent record keeping as it definitely came in handy for me. I had a very positive experience with AO and cannot recommend AO and Dr. Zandi enough.
