I think this ride gets WAY more hate than it deserves (seemingly not on Yelp though...?) Yes it is basically a copy and paste of Spiderman but it's still fun. the queue is mostly inside. I've definitely seen the first Transformers movie and at least one more but I couldn't even tell you how many are in the series. And I watched a few episodes of the cartoon as a kid but was never a fan. It was such a transparent gimmick to sell the toys and the toys actually seemed cooler than the cartoon. I preferred imagining my own adventures. Skywarp could go off on a mission with the Millennium Falcon if I wanted. Somehow Transformers seemed like a backburner ride when we made our way over from Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios Florida. Maybe that was good in a way as we'd already eaten dinner and had our bellies nice and full and our spirits lifted by the Mardi Gras parade when we made our way over to Transformers. I do like how Michael Bay is such a fan of shooting in Detroit and even the queue was giving some Detroit abandoned factory vibes... maybe not exactly abandoned but just vibing in that direction. A whole gaggle of slightly drunk blonde women were on our train at the front while we sat at the back. These were the type of women who can sometimes get on my nerves but in this context they just made the ride more hype. They were absolutely loving it. And to my slight surprise so was I. Transformers: The Ride 3D just kicks so much ass. It's like a grittier Spider-Man where the CGI feels more realistic than the animation over in Marvel Land. All Spark is the MacGuffin here but it's all about the screeching tires, thunderous metallic punches, Bumblebee rocking Rick James and James Brown, explosions and fireballs like ooo wee! That blowed up real good! and getting whipped around a city I wanted to be the far more abandoned Detroit of 25 years ago than the happening place of today. (I'm pretty sure I spotted the People Mover and some Detroit buildings though they might have been remixed a bit.) The part where you get dragged through an entire floor of an office building is just so awesome as is the inevitable scene at the end where you plummet a couple dozen stories only to be saved from a devastating impact with terra firma at the last instant. I won't fault them for following the Spider-Man blueprint for a grand finale here. I'd be happy to roll out with the Autobots again even if it's with the pedal pub crew who were going up on a Tuesday in early March. Transformers was my second favorite ride at Universal Studios Florida, behind only The Simpsons. read more

Whoa! This was fun and I am not the target Transformers fan. My family rode as single riders and boarded almost immediately. The storyline of our beloved Transformers fighting against the bad guys provided a lot of action and we were literally rocked, shook and whisked through the attraction. This ride may not be for you if fast movement makes your body feel unwell. There's a lot to watch and no doubt I earned a bruise! In the park Transformers is easy to find with its corner decoration and signage. It's also conveniently located near a restroom and Mel's Diner. read more

This was one of the best rides in the park. There was about 15 minutes of wait time, but the walk through the hall is so long, it felt short. The hallway space is full of Transformers information like design of the autobot, their mechanics, materials, mission and plenty of other good stuff to geek out on. Once we got on the ride, it went through a sequence of battle where our car was acting like an autobot. We got experience the trill of flying in between autobots and decepticons, dodging missiles and bullets, falling from the sky and smashing onto several object. It was a really fun ride. Outside the building, they were also having meet and greet with Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, in turns, throughout the day. We got to meet them both. The characters were very realistic and their voice and manner of talking. It was one the best part of the whole day. It was little disappointed with the products they had in the merchandise store. I couldn't find anything good quality worth the price to buy being a big Transformers fan. I bought couple of small pins to bring back as memories. read more

An indoor 3D track ride, you play the role of a visitor and you ride in an Autobot named Evac as a 3 row, 12 person car, carrying the all Spark and watching as Optimus and Megatron and others fight, shoot at and move you - it's sometimes jarring and the mounted motion platform simulator displays images of Transformers characters on to a huge screen and various smoke, light, and water effects. This was by far one of my favorite rides of my entire trip! The story was surprisingly deep and well written, as was the "mission". I felt myself getting riled up and wanting to defeat megatron as the ride progressed. It was a dynamic experience and felt like we were working with the transformers. This was pretty cool. If you're into the Transformers franchise, you'll see lots of references to popular Transformers characters like Megatron, Bumblebee, etc. This was a very popular ride, with long waits if you don't have the Express pass. Even with the Express pass the wait was close to an hour. The ride itself was pretty cool, having to watch the Autobots protect the AllSpark from the Decepticons, which mirrors the general theme of the franchise well. I would say this is a moderate level of thrill, with good amounts of special effects and some jolts. Definitely one that I'd recommend for a good dark ride experience. read more

Optimus prime seems to be giving the overview. Overall awesome theming that fills with the show. From the jump, it's like you get teleported into some next-level robot smackdown with Optimus and Megatron throwin' hands like it's the apocalypse. The queue? Mad futuristic--like some NASA-type vibe--but real talk, the staff? Yo, they were next-level awesome, like straight-up MVPs. They be hypin' you up like, "Yo, you ready to roll out with Optimus?" The 3D effects slap harder than a Decepticon after a bad day--cars flyin', fire blowin', and buildings crashin' all around you. Bruh, when Bumblebee came through with the save? Straight chills, no cap. The motion is so smooth it's like you ridin' shotgun with the squad in a rocket-powered whip. But hold up, this ride ain't for the weak-hearted. If you ain't about that life with loud noises or quick spins, you might wanna sit this one out, but if you're tryna turn up? This ride will have you yellin' "Let's GOOOOOO!" from start to finish. We're counting on you. Roll out. 3-D rides gets me dizzy for some reason. I remember now how this ride got me a little dizzy when we got on the first time in 2019 but it wasn't as bad as how I felt with the Simpson's Ride (omg, never again). The 30-min wait wasn't too bad so why not, plus Optimus Prime was counting on us to save the future of the human race! LoL Don't forget to grab a 3-D glasses so you can enjoy a larger than life thrill ride experience. This is not a roller coaster ride but the experience is a motion simulation base on a ride vehicle, Evac, that moved along the tracks. Special effects included strong winds and heat, water, hot air, fog, air blasts, vibration, and smoke just like the raging effects of battle around you... if you are okay with all that then enjoy! Then the adventure starts. the action is non-stop once the ride begins. At the end, the good guys won and we and the Autobots defeated the Decepticons! No surprise LoL! After we exited the ride we happened to catch a Transformer character outside their meet 'n greet spot. Optimus Prime was the scheduled character and we took a photo with him. This is one of the best rides in the whole park and easily one of my all time favorites! I'm not the biggest Transformers fan, but man does this ride get you so hype! I always go through it screaming my head off for Bumblebee and Optimus Prime and it's truly the pinnacle of what a simulation ride should be! It takes you on a whole ride, literally, and you yourself feel like one of the transformers at times. It's so realistic - so much so that I witnessed two of my friends sitting in the row in front of me in our car bonk heads with one another when they instinct dodged an object flying towards us! It's that immersive and I absolutely love it! You're invested in the story, in the ride, and you come off of it knowing you had SUCH a good time! People have said that the Spider-Man simulator ride on the Islands of Adventure side of the park rivals the Transformers ride. We ran out of time during this trip and didn't get to hit it up sadly, so I have yet to compare, but I'll be hard pressed to find anything as great as the Transformers ride - so expectations are HIGH! read more

The wait time will vary - last time here one was very quick and the other only 10 minutes...not bad. Don't forget to pick up 3D glasses before getting on the ride. While you wait, take a look at the set-up, detail and decor. Right before you get to the ride, 3D glasses and stay with your party when the vehicle pulls up. Awesome to ride this multiple times and sitting in different seats and rows each time. Cool effects and you do feel the water, heat and smoke as you go through the ride. Transformers: The Ride 3D is one of my favorite 3D rides at Universal Studios Orlando Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Transformers: The Ride 3D is near the Minion and Shrek 4D lot. There is a express pass and standard wait queue for the Transformers. Typical wait time varied while we visited Universal Studios Orlando Florida during the Holiday, anywhere between 30 minutes to 50 minutes. The ride is extremely immersive and I'd highly recommend if you get motion sickness easily to avoid the ride. You are provided 3D glasses prior to board. There is a lot of movement, forward and backward motions. The ride moves you fast and it is quite loud. You'll see a variety of familiar faces such as BumbleBee throughout the ride as you escape from Megatron while saving the Allspark. read more

"Get to the cube, Sam!" -Optimus Prime I absolutely cannot believe I had not ridden this ride before. The original Transformers movie is one of my all time favorites, and I can remember when it was newer just watching it constantly. It's so great. So why I hadn't gotten around to riding the ride here at Universal when I visit the park so much, beats me. This is a really sweet ride, which makes me even more upset that I took such a turtle pace to experience it. It's a very immersive 3/4D experience. I feel that it's a similar setup to the Spider-Man ride in some ways. You sit in small carts with a group of other people and go on an adventure to escape from the evil Megatron. Your cart is technically "inside" of one of the AutoBots, so you're riding along with him. You see lots of familiar faces along the trek, and it's crazy how you literally feel like you've fallen into the movie, it's all so up close and in the middle and all over. It was a true joy to ride this. They have some really fun additions to check out while you wait in line as well. Be sure not to miss those. AutoBots, roll out! read more

One of my favorite rides at Universal hands down! The detail and ride are insanely detailed making it look like stuff is actually been destroyed and it looks like you're in a bunker during the queue. Loading on is a breeze with them telling you which row to get into, the ride vehicle itself looks like an undercover transformer and is really detailed and cool when it comes to little details! The ride itself is a motion simulator that moves with multiple screens throughout the ride. It includes 4D aspects such as heat and water as well as smoke. It's a very jerky ride so if you have any back issues or the variety of those types of things I definitely recommend you don't read this. The visual effects on this ride are stunning and look as if they were coming straight from Hollywood. The right is 3D as well! The workers are friendly and act just like how they should be when it comes to the storyline of this ride. I definitely recommend it if the wait time is relatively low! read more

Fun 3D ride, whether you're a fan of Transformers or not. While the movies are "ok", I was always more of the 80's Transformers and could really care less about the Michael Bay incarnations. I've seen the movies and while entertaining, I don't go out of my way to see them. I was in Universal Hollywood, but avoided going on this - I was finally at Universal in Florida and figured why not. You don't have to be a fan of Transformers at all to enjoy the ride. The ride itself is entertaining and you need to wear the glasses they provide you. There's a lot of twists and turns in front of various 3D screens. If you get motion sickness easy, you might want to use caution getting on this one. The overall production on this ride was well done and it was easy to follow to basic story. With a lot of things at Universal, the lines can be long with this one. Luckily I went early (while everyone ran to Harry Potter at open), so I waited all of 2 minutes on line. There is quite a little walk from the front door until you sit down on the ride with plenty to look at. When you exit the ride, you end up in a strategically placed gift shop with some decent Transformers merchandise. Across from the gift shop, they have meet and greets with 3 different Transformers at any give time - Optimus, Megatron, and Bumblebee. They take turns and you'll more than likely get to meet all 3 before long. Located at the main Universal Studios park. Overall a fun ride and one I'd do again. Recommended to all to do at least once. read more

Lucky us :) as people have waited even 2-3 hours for this ride in peak season It's another in-your-face, rock-em, sock-em, sensory-overload attraction from Universal (really, do they make them any other way?) that will leave you breathless and wondering, what the heck just happened. this is one of my favorite rides at Universal Studios. Based on the popular movie franchise, it makes you feel like your in real galactic battle. vehicle-mounted motion platform simulator while displaying 3D images of Transformers characters on to a huge screen. In addition to the spectacular 3D graphics, the live-action special effects of sound, smoke, and heat (to simulate a live explosion) are truly heart pounding and so realistic. Enter the kinetic world of Michael Bay with this thrilling motion ride that puts you in the heat of battle between Decepticons and NEST's Autobots. Utilizing the original voices, the intricate CGI renders of the robots, and cast members from the films, this is as close as we will get to a world of warring robots. I'm a bit disappointed in this ride. The previous time we visited Universal, it was relatively new. The lines were long, and it broke down or was delayed quite a bit, so we skipped it. This time we were able to get on in a relatively short period of time. I am a fan of the movie franchise, although I have not seen most of them in the theater, but I do enjoy the characters. So I was excited to finally experience a new ride for the family. Once we boarded the ride I could see it looked identical to Spiderman, including the "Stark Industry" car they provided. At that point I was disappointed. They did not seem to take time to create something new for us to experience. The visuals and effects were okay, and the ride was fun. But personally, I would not stand it line again for this attraction. I would go back to the Spiderman ride again instead. That one is a family favorite. read more

This ride is very dynamic, taking place in multiple dimensions as you wear 3D glasses while riding in one of the Transformers during a battle between the sides. As with many of Universal's rides, it is fast paced, busy and LOUD. It is also a lot of motion and when they warn you about back and neck injuries, this is one you should probably pay attention to. It will jerk you around as you try to escape from Megatron while protecting the Allspark. There's also a bank of lockers to put loose items in. If you are carrying a backpack or purse, this is probably a good idea. If it all fits snugly in your pockets, it should be fine. I have experienced the ride multiple times and still enjoy it as you are immersed in all the action you'd find in the movies. If you have kids, they'll love it even more. read more

My only regret, was getting on this ride first! Almost anything we went on after paled in comparison. All my daughter spoke about for months, was getting on this ride. We shopped in the gift store before getting into the line. She is a Optimus Prime fanatic, and there were many cool and unique items for all ages. Clothes, bags, plushes, mugs, keychains, car decals, etc. Paying for Express to line skip was the best thing ever. As you wait on the line, numerous Autobots describe your mission to you as you wait and walk toward the ride. The 3D adventure is lots of fun and there will be breathtaking stunts and drops that seem realistic. They did a great job with this one. read more

One of my favorite rides. It's 3D and simulated; it's not a rollercoaster but it does spin you around and shoots you here and there. They did a great job with the little spritz of water, the "drop", and the bangs and thuds. The chair was comfortable and spacious. The ride is thrilling and I love seeing Optimus Prime and the evil villains. If you watched the Trans formers movies, then you would enjoy this ride. Even if you didn't, it's still a fun ride and we never miss it when we come here. You're allowed to bring your bag and hat with you for this ride because you're not going upside down or anything. read more

First of all, the movies aren't all that great, especially after the first one. They're hard to follow with the overly-detailed Transformers on screen and the storyline in non-sensical. Well, the ride suffers from the same problems plus the standard Universal Studios ride vehicle I've almost come to hate (some seats are pretty bad with blocked views, for example). I used to love Transformers: The Ride when I rode it a decade ago but now I'm old and I've learned to take it slow with this ride now due to my motion sickness. This ride is a 3D/4D ride located inside Universal Studios and it's really cool as the ride itself takes you on a journey with fights with the transformer and the 3D effects are pretty cool. The queue is also pretty cool as you get to see all the theming they did with the ride. Unfortunately, I get pretty dizzy after riding this ride and I only try to ride it if there's minimal wait. The queue while waiting for the ride is fun to walk through...and me personally, I had a hard time not pressing every single button while waiting in line. Once on the ride, you really feel as if you are part of the Transformers world! It's truly a fully immersive ride. Transformers: The Ride 3D is the same as the Spider-Man in feel, technology and pretty much every way except for the difference in story-line and characters of course. Now I enjoyed the ride but was kind of disappointed in how similar it was to Spider-Man. Spider-Man was one of the best rides at Universal so I get wanting to recreate the look and feel for another ride...but it's just a bit uninventive. I've never cared much about Transformers or the movies, yet I always get excited to get on this ride. During the ride, you'll go through fire, jump across buildings, and all kinds of crazy stuff! The lines can get long here, but they have a single rider option as well. Having done this ride back in May, I came away very underwhelmed overall. Given that experience, I was less than thrilled to be riding it again just four months later. Yet, I actually enjoyed it far more this time around. I cannot quite put my finger on what it is exactly that made me like it more this time around, as absolutely nothing had changed and I realized that the ride is almost the same as Spider-Man with more updated visuals.
