Overall, I think this is a great place to check out if you are in Orlando. We came here because we have Legoland gold passes which means we get free admission to sea life, Madame Tussaud's, and the Orlando Eye. All three of these together took up about two hours and then we were able to go to Cafe tu tu tango to get a bite to eat. This was a great half day experience while we were visiting Orlando. There was a parking garage and parking was super easy. By that time we left around 8:30 PM there were so many cars, but when we first got there at about 5 PM there were tons of spots. They do have parking spots you can pay for in the lower levels so it seems like if you're willing to pay there will always be parking. If you want free parking, you need to go earlier because this seems to be popular for nightlife. I always appreciate when there's so many attractions together that you can walk to. This place has quite a few restaurants, some shops and the attractions all in a contained area. It was very clean and when we came, there was a huge police presence, because apparently a couple weeks before there was hundreds of teenagers that descended to the area and fought. So the place was doing a really good job making sure that everything was safe. This is a place for both families and non-families alike. read more

Another "go big or go home" Orlando destination spot for tourists, complete with its own eye (The Wheel). The entertainment complex has a variety of restaurants ranging in price , including my beloved Shake Shack. There are shops, an aquarium, was museum, arcades, live music, illusion museum, and several other places on the twenty acre complex I'm not sure about parking other than knowing it's free. I usually walk over from my hotel when in town for conferences. It's something to do in evening after sitting all day listening to speakers. read more

The Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks crew recently took a midweek day off for a day trip to Orlando. Did we go to the house of Mouse? Nope. We wanted to so something a little different so I poked around online and ended up buying a combo deal for attractions in ICON Park which is in the center of I-Drive. You can find it on Google Maps by clicking HERE. The bundle I bought us had admission for The Orlando Eye which is the huge observation wheel, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and the Sea Life Aquarium. There's a huge parking garage which is $20 for the first 3 floors but free for the 4th floor and up, so of course, we parked on the 4th floor. There's a ton of food options between walk up and sit down joints. We picked a Mexican joint called Uncle Julio's. It was good for the price and location. Nothing super special but again, good for the price. Our day hit a bump in the road when we walked over to the attractions entrance. A guy named Malcom met us, I showed him my email receipt and he immediately said "oh, the Eye (the observation wheel) is down today". At first, he said they'd have to refund the 3 attraction combo ticket I bought, then I'd have to go online and re-buy a 2 attraction ticket. I didn't get upset or anything. I just calmly said "wait. Y'all can't help me with that right here?" and he said "give me a minute, let me see what I can figure out". To his credit, he really did have to jump through some hoops. The system was trying to force "surge pricing" on the transaction because of how busy they were and he was just trying to take care of a customer. I feel bad for a lot of customer service workers these days because their hands are so tied by some of these point of sale systems. He kept at it though and found a way to get the price down to what I would've paid if I'd just bought the 2 attractions a few weeks ago instead of 3. So again, huge shout out to Malcom for going the extra mile and overcoming a system he shouldn't have had to. We ended up having a fantastic day around Icon Park and I will share a separate post about how much fun we had with a test run at Ripley's Crazy Golf. I just really thought the customer service we received from Malcom was worth a post of it's own. We were at ICON Park last November while we were on a road trip to Orlando to go to Epic Universe. We decided to also stop in here to take a ride on the ferris wheel, aka Orlando Eye. It was $40 per person for a 15 minute ride, which seemed rather high but it's Orlando. So it was fun and we got to see the Universal 's Epic Universe, Super Nintendo World and the dual roller coasters plus the Icon Park itself. We enjoyed it at night with all the lights. The gate entrance is free. You pay for whatever ride you select. The main highlights at ICON are SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, the Madame Tussaud Museum Orlando, the Orlando StarFlyer swing ride, the Museum of Illusions, and In the Game, which is an arcade with games, a mirror maze and the Pearl Express, which is a miniature train ride. Besides the highlights, there are over 40 resturaunts and kiosks to choose from. For shoppers, there are several boutiques and souvenir kiosks. A lot of different activities to do in one area--we played arcade games, grabbed a drink and bought some souvenirs. There's a wax museum, many different restaurants and a Ferris wheel too. con Park is a great spot with lots to do for both families and couples. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, tons of souvenir shops, and several fun attractions to check out. It definitely has something for everyone. We decided to go on the Orlando Eye, and it was a really enjoyable experience. It wasn't very busy during our visit, so we ended up with a pod all to ourselves. A fun bonus--there's a bar right before you board where you can grab a glass of wine or a beer to take with you. This park was across the street from my hotel I was staying at while in town for business. It was a chilly January night but I decided to venture out. Ate decent barbecue at a barbecue joint and just wandered around to see what was around. There are plenty of restaurants, some kiosks, gift stores, arcade and a Madame Tussaud's wax museum. I think there were only three rides though: giant ferris wheel (the Orlando Eye), slingshot ride, and swing ride. I can see they're positioning themselves as another entertainment option and I'm sure it's much busier when the weather is warmer. read more

ICON Park: where you come for the views and stay because you can't find your car in the free parking garage. ICON Park is Orlando's attempt at being "cool and urban" in a city otherwise dominated by giant mice, wizards, and upside-down buildings. It's part shopping mall, part amusement park, part place where you'll spend $20 on a cocktail served in a light-up plastic cup shaped like the Eiffel Tower. History check: ICON Park opened in 2015 as I-Drive 360, with the main draw being The Orlando Eye (now the "ICON Wheel"), a 400-foot observation wheel that makes you feel like you're about to spot Hogwarts in the distance. They rebranded to ICON Park in 2018, because apparently "360" wasn't iconic enough. The highlight is definitely the Wheel -- a slow-moving, climate-controlled Ferris wheel that gives you panoramic views of Orlando, which means you'll see: Disney fireworks in the distance, Universal Studios, and a whole lot of parking lots. It's romantic if you ignore the fact that you're floating above an Outback Steakhouse. Inside ICON Park you'll also find Madame Tussauds (come take selfies with wax celebrities), SEA LIFE Aquarium (fish looking at you like "why are YOU in a tank?"), the Museum of Illusions, plus bars, restaurants, and shops that range from "this is fun" to "I just paid $15 for socks." Nightlife is surprisingly lively here -- it's like a mini Vegas Strip, if Vegas was run by people in Mickey ears. Why four stars? Because it's fun, but also touristy as heck. Parking is free (a miracle in Orlando), but expect crowds, overpriced drinks, and at least one guy trying to convince you to buy a time-share while you wait in line for the Wheel. I smirk at the spectacle, grabbed a drink at Yard House, and muttered: "It's commercial as hell, but if you're going to be a tourist, lean into it." I love icon park however there's a big issue. Some businesses are open before the main building's opening at 11am and there is not a single bathroom outside of it! I've been wondering around looking for a half hour and all staff told me there is none until 11am. Very inconvenient! read more

Another spot for the holiday maker to kill some time. It's like a city walk vibe with a couple of restaurants, vendors and attractions. The aquarium, Madame Tussaud's museum and the Orlando eye. Similar to the London eye. You could buy individual tickets for each attraction or the package for all three. There's also a Ferris wheel right in the middle of the park. Plenty of parking as there's a lot right next to the park. There's a couple of restaurants as well as smaller take out places. Icon Park is a really cool little place to go for the day. It's free to get in just to walk around but you can buy a package for around $100 and you can do everything in the park. They have the big ferris wheel, The wax museum, The sea life aquarium, The carousel, a big game room, Virtual reality games, Lots of bars and restaurants. A choo choo train ride, A couple of places with live music. Vendors and shopping. For an extra charge you can see the museum of illusions and take a ride on the slingshot that will shoot you way way way up in the sky!!. If you don't use everything that's on your ticket you can come back another day. You have 30 days to use it. Parking is free in the parking garage on certain levels. Loved the Sip and Savor event last Sunday! All of the staff were incredibly friendly even though it was very hot! I arrived right at 12p and they got us our badges. The vendors were still setting up but as they had their samples ready, I was able to sit and try the drinks and some food while the band played. It was very warm under the tent so I wish they had some airflow but it was nice to try some new foods and beverages that I have not before. I enjoyed the light beer from Yuengling the best. After living in Florida for almost five years, finally took the time to discover Icon Park -- thanks to Yelp and Icon Park's Sip & Savor event on July 30, 2023. I've been here a couple of times just to have a drink, but never gave it a round to take the time to enjoy the plaza. Icon Park is a staple when you come to Orlando, also known as the "Orlando Eye." The plaza is full of top end restaurants, dove bars and entertainment for the regular tourists. Parking is not free, but you'll always find a parking spot. If you want free parking, park across the street behind BJ's for open parking. Be prepared to spend lots of money here! Luckily during the event, everything was covered by Yelp! We were able to sample small samplings of each restaurant showcased at Icon Park, and got to dry very unique beers and liquors. We have now discovered our love for Yuengling Flight and Heineken Silver. Our food was from Fusion with their chicken tikka masala. So fresh! Glad we were able to keep going for seconds to any booth that was there. From going to this event, I see myself going to Icon Park more often. Even though it's tourist based, it's still a pretty fun area to hang the night in. Hydrate a lot during the summer because there is barely any shade or seating areas unless you dine in. Zach and I did the wheel at icon park- I normally don't like heights but this was the perfect experience to end our date day. I am not sure how much the tickets go for per person because we did have the package; however this is a must do!! The booth in the wheel lets you do Bluetooth as well so you can pair your phone! They've got a bar right before you enter the booths for the wheel. My drink was a high noon $8. I definitely recommend the wheel!! read more

Quite a lot to do here. Though admittedly with the prices I don't go here often. If they offered some sort of Florida resident discount or date night package I would probably come back if it was reasonably priced. They do offer quite a few restaurants and entertainment options. However, I found quite a few of the restaurants to be lackluster to say the least. I came here for one of their events and they ended up setting up fans after a couple hours which honestly they should have set up sooner. It was so hot and all of the restaurants trying to keep their food warm only made the tent even hotter. Which made for an uncomfortable experience so I ended up leaving early. If you know how hot it gets in Florida in the summer you probably know what I mean. If you're looking to save money while enjoying some time out I probably wouldn't recommend going here. To me most of the things here feel overpriced and undervalued. read more

This place has evolved tons since we have last been here. Didn't realize it had been so long. I want to go to the Museum of Optical Illusion so bad. I also want to try Gordon Ramsey Fish and Chips. I walked into Sloppy Joe's which is super well known in Key West and the menu and the place didn't remind me of Key West at all whatsoever. The green area use to be so big and now there are more little stands and businesses and the Dinosaur shop/Museum is gone. Here if you want food, I spotted Tapa Toro which is closed at 8 on Mondays. They also have Yard House, a French Cafe, and a few others. Parking is free in the garage on the fourth floor and up and you just take the elevator down. I was bummed I didn't see much for Xmas Decs except the tree. It was ok. I have done Madame Tussaud's and The Ferris Wheel here . They also have SeaLife and other attractions and tons of diff activity passes. They appear to be pretty $$$$. read more
