I'm going to rant. About a year ago, we had our car towed to Larsen's for a diagnostic for chugging…read more& smoking exhaust. They had it for weeks before they called to tell us we needed a new/used engine & quoted $10,000 to put in a used motor with 161,000 miles on it. We obviously had to give that some thought & went to pay for the diagnostic & arrange to have it towed home. We asked the mechanic for some clarification & he said he "suspected" a blown head gasket or broken O ring. I asked what code had come up & he said he didn't remember. He then went out to try to run the obd while it was up on the wrecker, but the battery was dead. Our car has been sitting in our yard as we continue to pay the notes on it. However, I didn't trust the diagnosis Larsen's had given us. We finally had a "mobile mechanic" come by & check it. His obd clearly stated it's the turbo. That diagnosis confirmed the research I'd done at the beginning. Now imagine if we'd replaced the engine for $10,000 and it was all for nothing. Never trusting Larsen's again.

Taking 2,600 from someone and not even fixing my car. not to mention one time the last time i picked it up and the light once again stopped working 2 hours after getting it, i still dropped off another $100.00. When i could of easily kept that money. But Im a honest person. They can't say the same. I unserstand keeping the money charged for the new headlamp considering its in my car now. But keeping all the rest of the money they charged me to fix the issue ( that they did not fix ) is beyond me.

Very disapointing and a waste of my time searching. I first went to Cortez in 2022 on a referral by Discount tire for a front end alignment. Was very…read morehappy with getting in and out in about 2 hours without an appointment. Fast forward to today. My husband ran over something large and hard at 70 mph. Hit was so hard it popped the needle off of the speedometer in the dash. Managed to get it into see Joshua. Wasn't good news but he gave me 2 options. First was the minimum that needed to be done. Second was an additional item that really should be done. All said and done, more than I wanted to spend but I still feel he was very fair in his pricing. Been driving the van for a few days now and am very happy with the results. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be chewing up my tires every few thousand miles. Just as a side note. I did research Cortez Car Care and discovered something amazing. They have been members of the BBB for 23 yrs this year and have not had one single complaint lodged against them in all that time. In any auto related field, especially repair/maintenance, that is a record to be very proud of. Just tells me that they are doing things right and have customer satisfaction very high on their priority list.

My automobile was running a whole lot better on five cylinders before the so called manchanic worked on it than it was after he worked on it. And now it is running so rough it may be running on only 3 or 4 cylinders and the trimming is probably off. The only reason they got a one star is it called?I didn't see anything lower!
