And now it is running so rough it may be running on only 3 or 4 cylinders and the trimming is probably off. The only reason they got a one star is it called?I didn't see anything lower! Fast forward to today. My husband ran over something large and hard at 70 mph. Hit was so hard it popped the needle off of the speedometer in the dash. Managed to get it into see Joshua. Wasn't good news but he gave me 2 options. First was the minimum that needed to be done. Second was an additional item that really should be done. All said and done, more than I wanted to spend but I still feel he was very fair in his pricing. Been driving the van for a few days now and am very happy with the results. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing I won't be chewing up my tires every few thousand miles. Just as a side note. I did research Cortez Car Care and discovered something amazing. They have been members of the BBB for 23 yrs this year and have not had one single complaint lodged against them in all that time. In any auto related field, especially repair/maintenance, that is a record to be very proud of. Just tells me that they are doing things right and have customer satisfaction very high on their priority list.

They are professional, keep you informed every step of the way, do great work, for a fair price, stand behind their work, and most of all are honest. I have spoken with the owner more than once, as it is family owned, and he is usually there. But one time that I spoke with him that stood out to me that they were different. My stepson's power steering stopped working. I called and I was about to have it towed in as it was parked at a restaurant. The owner got on the phone with me and asked me what year and model the car was. I told him, he asked me if the car had driven through any heavy puddles. I told him it had been raining, so I assumed so. He told me that model is notorious for the sensors getting wet and causing issues with the rack and pinion steering. He said, let it sit for a couple hours and dry out a bit. It should resolve the problem, and it did. He didn't have to tell me that. He could've let me have it towed in and just let it sit and dry and tell me he fixed it and taken me for a ride, but he didn't. That's honesty. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family, and to anyone else who reads this review.

I'm going to rant. About a year ago, we had our car towed to Larsen's for a diagnostic for chugging…read more& smoking exhaust. They had it for weeks before they called to tell us we needed a new/used engine & quoted $10,000 to put in a used motor with 161,000 miles on it. We obviously had to give that some thought & went to pay for the diagnostic & arrange to have it towed home. We asked the mechanic for some clarification & he said he "suspected" a blown head gasket or broken O ring. I asked what code had come up & he said he didn't remember. He then went out to try to run the obd while it was up on the wrecker, but the battery was dead. Our car has been sitting in our yard as we continue to pay the notes on it. However, I didn't trust the diagnosis Larsen's had given us. We finally had a "mobile mechanic" come by & check it. His obd clearly stated it's the turbo. That diagnosis confirmed the research I'd done at the beginning. Now imagine if we'd replaced the engine for $10,000 and it was all for nothing. Never trusting Larsen's again.
