Juan and his team are EXACTLY why you work with small, local businesses. They care about the customer and they truly care about the quality of their work. I had a "half-coverage" transparent paint protection kit installed on a white '19 GTI. This included front bumper, headlights, 1/4 of the hood, 1/4 of the fenders, mirrors, door edges, and the top of the rear bumper (below the hatchback). The work took a full day. When I picked the car up I had to lean waaaaayyy in to even see the border of the film on the car. The install and quality of material were excellent. They even cleaned the complete exterior of the car when they were done. Juan took the time to walk me through the work, explain the material, and how to maintain the exterior of the car. Juan is the man! I scheduled Juan to install a clear bra on my new STI. Two days later, he spent 6-7 hours in my garage installing the bra, including the side mirrors, door edges, and door handles. He did an incredible job. I am a perfectionist and went over his work closely. You can tell he is not in a rush, but takes his time and treats it like his own car. A couple days later I found a couple of (TINY) bubbles in the bra. I called Juan, who assured me that they would disappear in the next two weeks. If not, he said he would replace them. A few hours later, Juan called--he was OUTSIDE MY GARAGE wanting to go over the job. You don't get customer service like this anymore. Finally, Juan charges about 1/2 the price of the big name competition. He does as good job--probably better--and he can come to you. He also does work for several body shops and dealers. Met Juan over a year ago as he did a lot of work for a body shop I used to work at. He's our primary guy for transparent bras and for very good reasons. 1) great guy and easy to work with 2) easy to get a hold of and always on time 3) prices are excellent 4) MOST IMPORTANTLY, quality of work is perfect and always completed in timely manner. Because of all these reasons, its hard to find another like him. Not only does he do great work on clear bras, he also does car audio and tinting. Juan knows his audio, just ask him to show you his car. As for tinting, he uses name brand tint and not limited to just vehicles. He tinted our office windows (13 windows) to help keep the afternoon sunlight out. No more sauna in the office. Being in San Francisco, I'm sure there are plenty of shops between here and Berkeley that can do what Juan does. I actually found out about Transparent Bra through an automotive forum, where they were highly recommended to do the installation of the paint protection film (PPF) on the vehicle. After calling five places, I decided to go with Transparent Bra to do the installation. I talked with Juan over the phone, and he gave a price of $420 to do the bumper, 1/3 of the hood, 2 side mirrors, and the headlights, which was comparable in price to three of the five installers I called. For my compact car, he used the VentureShield film (instead of the 3M), which I've heard should be just as good, if not better. Juan came out to my place (they offer free mobile service within the SF bay area), and completed the entire job in about 3.5 hours. He has a lot of experience with PPF installation, and put a lot of effort for my installation. I was satisfied with the job, but unfortunately, there was some slight peeling on the bumper film 2 weeks later. This can happen sometimes, since the installation on the bumper can be quite challenging. I gave Juan a call about it, and he'll be back tomorrow to re-do the work without additional charges. So far, they stand behind their work, which is a rare find for many service providers. For my next car, I'm pretty sure I'll be a repeat customer. read more

Juan is a very nice guy and certainly a hard worker. However, it was a HUGE disappointment when he tried to install a vinyl tint on my taillights. The install is a difficult job but I still expect quality work on my car. The job had to be redone several times simply because the vinyls ended up shrinking a bit and did not cover the entire surface area of the taillight. The vinyls still do not fit right to this day but Juan was extremely generous and refunded me for the install. I was not expecting him to go to this level of service but it definitely was a nice gesture. Overall, I was impressed that he cared enough about taking care of the issue to make sure I was satisfied. Just had the clear bra installed on my 2009 Mini Cooper S. Juan was very courteous and professional and took his time to make sure everything was just right. The install took 5 hours and the poor guy didn't even take a bathroom break, talk about dedication. Juan was also very friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant to be around with. I have used Transparent Bra before with my 2006 Nissan Murano. The quality of the install and material on that job led me back to them again for my Mini. The install included the front bumper, hood, scoop, headlights, fog lights, mirror and door strips. There were some bubbles after the install. I used Transparent Bra when I purchased my Toyota Prius in 2005. They came to my home and installed the basic package which included full frontal and partial hood protection. I also requested rear bumper protection. I was so satisfied with the job that they performed that I contacted them again when I bought my 2010 Prius. The new Clear Coat film is so shiny and clear that you have to look hard to tell that it has been applied. Wow! What an incredible experience with my clear bra installation! Started with a phone call to set up an appointment at Juan's shop in Berkeley two days ago. I just returned from the installation. I have been working with Juan for the last 12 years and he has done multiple cars for me. That includes clear bras, tint and custom stereo systems. He is a very hard working individual and definitely over-delivers and under promises. It is really hard to find people that know their product extremely well and take the time to train their customers on pros and cons. I recently moved to Orange County and bought a 2013 Bmw M5. I was in need of getting a clear bra and tint, but I could not buildup trust with any of the local shops. I never expected it, but Juan offered to drive 400 miles each way and complete the job. He worked really hard until 2am at my house and the job came out beautiful. We had US Open in Surfing that weekend and riots broke out, which made it impossible for Juan to finish.
