Honey Hot and Trap Sauce Wings
    Scott M.

Had just arrived in Atlanta from a late flight. Was wondering what was I going to eat now that I was back on U.S. soil. I knew there was Waffle House around the corner from where I was staying and at first, I had settled on placing a to-go order but I checked Yelp and saw that there was a wing spot just around the corner. I asked the guy working the front desk at the hotel about Trap Wingz and he said he just got some himself and he highly recommended it. They're located inside a gas station so while you wait you can grab your some other essentials while you wait. The cashier was very friendly and explain some of the flavors we had questions about. There were many patrons waiting on orders so I just knew the food was going to be bussing. I got the Trap Sauce and Honey Hot, sprinkled gently with Lemon Pepper on them and a side of fries. Honestly probably the best wings I've ever had in a while. The wings are a decent size, not too small nor too big. The sauces were a combustion and expression of flavors. I would warn to be careful of the heat level - I had sweat rolling my eyelids. But the pain was so good. Highly recommend!

Wanted to Love It, Just Didn't Get There I really wanted to rate this place higher, but I can't. I've had a lot of wing spots over the years, and for me it always comes down to the sauce. That's the difference maker. Atmosphere and location were solid no complaints there. The issue for me was the wings and fries. Not bad by any means, but definitely not great. I tried the mango habanero, which I usually use as a benchmark across wing spots, and it just didn't hit. The fries had a Parmesan twist, which was interesting, but they felt heavy. Overall, everything came off a bit too greasy and like it was trying to do too much. Honestly, I'd rate Buffalo Wild Wings higher in comparison. Service was really nice, and it's still a decent place just very average for me. The price also felt a little high for the quality. Overall: 3/5, not bad, just didn't stand out.

Whenever I pass by this gas station, I notice a lot of cars parked at the Trap Wingz. So, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the boneless wings, and they were surprisingly good for a restaurant in a gas station. If I'm looking for a quick and affordable wing dinner, I'll definitely return. The wings were fresh, flavorful, and had a satisfying crunch. The servers were friendly, and the grab-and-go setup is convenient for a gas station.

Maaaan! I was put ON! After a late night out we ended up at the gas station. I was hungry and confused. I knew we were going to get some food but I wasn't familiar with this place, we stepped in around 2am, right before the crowd came! I order the "Trapper of the Year Combo" which is a double smash burger, with a 6 piece wing (lemony pepper hot) and fries. The wait was decent and our food was cooked fresh. It tasted amazing, from seasoned fries, to the butter toasted buns I was satisfied. They included a 6- piece wing too, OMG! This meal was a 100/10.... At 2:30 am this place was PACKED, and everybody behind the counter was working! The staff even had pleasant attitudes considering how busy it was.

Location and time stamp of attempted pick up

Sunday I attempted to order food on their website. The website order option was not working. I tried the next option to place a pickup order via DoorDash linked on the website. I submitted my order and paid at 10:54 pm. I was given a pick up time of 11:20 pm. I arrived at the store and showed the employees my receipt and order number at the pick up counter. Both employees told me they didn't have my order in the system. Please be careful when using online ordering with this business. My money was taken and I never recieved my food. They are stealing from people.

I was in town for the weekend and was really craving a smash burger. This place is known for their wings, but their smash burger looked really good so I decided to give it a shot. The burger was hot, fresh, greasy, and delicious. It was definitely everything I was hoping for in a smash burger, so I have no complaints about it. I didn't like chips that came with it. I was hoping for crinkle cut fries but that's just my preference. I won't deduct a star for that. This is not a standalone restaurant, it's located inside of a gas station. So there's no dine-in option and you should plan your take your food to-go. There was a line when I arrived, but it was moving. The staff was friendly enough and the wait wasn't too long either. I'm looking forward to visiting Atlanta again and when I do I will be trying their wings. They looked really good! I would recommend stopping by if you're in the neighborhood or craving some comfort food.

I went to Trap Wingz yesterday for the BOGO. On Tuesdays you can get 2 trapper of the year combos for the price of 1. The combo includes a smash burger with 2 patties, 6 wings and fries. The burger was so good and filling. I just wish you didn't have to pay extra for toppings like lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. The toppings are $1 each. The burger comes with grilled onions and their special trapper sauce. I would return just for the burger. On Wednesday the BOGO is the Philly cheesesteak and on Thursday it's the chopped cheese combo. Each combo comes with 6 wings so it's a really good deal to split with someone or have a meal now for yourself and save 1 for later.

Very good food, the meat on the wings is very fresh. The chicken and cheese (chicken Philly) was soooooo good. I got hot with lemon pepper on my wings and the hot sauce is HOT! Nose running hot but still very very enjoyable! Inside circle k gas station

I come here often! It's located in a gas station, so don't expect anything fancy. The staff is friendly and most of the time accommodating. Although some ppl will charge extra for subbing onion rings, others won't. The chicken wings are a solid 8.5/10 The sandwiches are what I really come for!!! The smash burger, Philly and chopped cheese are all 10's!!! I do wish you could get bacon on the sandwiches. Definitely one of the better places to get wings and they are open late.

Not only can you get some gas, but the food is gas too. I didn't know what to expect from a restaurant located in a gas station, but to my surprise, the ambiance was cute and creative. But the star of the show was the FOOD. Nothing would have prepared me for the chicken wings, and that chicken Philly had me singing the Fresh Prince song. I love my wings fried hard, and baby, they were cooked to perfection. Full of flavor, and the sauce was finger-licking good. I ate way past consumption and got the itis, but it was so worth it! They found a friend in me, and I will be back!

I ordered my food online and only had to wait about 15 minutes after arriving. It is much better to order online. This place is inside a Circle K so you should have plenty of parking and be able to shop for some drinks. The wings are top notch. The chopped cheese was decent but not that good.

This was our first time eating from Pelicana and I'm honestly not a huge wing fan so wasn't expecting much. I figured they'd be a little off no matter what since it was being delivered, but I was proven absolutely wrong. I'm not sure what wizardry was at work here, but every bite felt fresh. The food was still hot, the wings still had a crisp bite, and the sauce was spicy/tangy perfection. Plus, the little side of pickled radish was perfect. It hit every flavor profile we were looking for and can't wait to do it again!

I ordered online and I showed up around the time it said it would be ready but still needed about 10 minutes before it was ready. We ordered a bunch of different things. The original boneless no sauce was great, and we tried the garlic sauce boneless (we couldn't find the soy garlic online which we had heard was all the rave!) but regardless the garlic was AWESOME. Then we also tried the spicy bone in which was good but not very spice. I think next time I would do the bone in with soy garlic and make sure to get it all crispy!! For the side, we got some fries which were just alright nothing crazy and the chicken fried rice. The chicken fried rice was good but don't think it worth getting again. Overall a delicious meal and the staff was super nice. Parking is a tiny lot so definitely be aware of that.

The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. If you're planning to try The Local, I would recommend coming on a regular weekday or come earlier if you're coming on the weekend because the line is crazy. There is some seating inside and outside the bar. We got there early enough to swipe a table. There were people standing and waiting for a table while waiting for their orders. Service was excellent! Tables are first come first serve. Plenty of parking in the back parking lot. I wouldn't wait in the rain for this but it was definitely worth a try!

We arrived there exactly at 5 PM, when it opens, but there was already a pretty extensive line. A little outside the entrance, they check your ID, which I had no idea was a thing. So make sure you have your IDs with you and are 21+. There's a bar area for drinks and a separate counter where you will order and pay for your food. (They make it pretty explicit that you can't get wings to-go.) Find a seat, and once your food is ready, they'll announce your name, and you pick up your food from the window. FOOD: We got wings in the flavors of lemon pepper (dry rub), sun-dried tomato (dry rub), buffalo lemon pepper (wet), and jerk buffalo (wet). I will say that I definitely preferred the wet wings to the dry wings. I found the dry wings to be a little too salty. In my opinion, the wings and the cook on them were just okay. I wasn't blown away or anything. Maybe the relatively cheap beer and the vibes help draw in all the appeal. TLDR// I don't think I had the greatest wings of all time here, but the vibes were really casual and pleasant. I'm glad I was able to try a place so beloved by locals.

That's heavy praise. I came here with an Atlanta native and she knew what to do, what to order, what to drink, and where to sit. If you come here as an out-of-towner, you need to come with a native. They know how to navigate these waters. Being a bar, I needed to start with a drink. No need to be cute. Go with an easy well and keep 'em coming. For me, that meant rum & Coke. No surprises. Decently strong. Moderate ice. Every time. Done. Knowing that a liquid diet of this sort (with work in the morning) was a bad idea, my colleague opined that we needed food. The menu is very large and I didn't know where to start. She did -- and did. We ordered wings and fries. But these weren't your big chain wings and fries. The wings -- because we're in Atlanta -- were (of course) lemon pepper. They were meaty, seasoned (!!!), fried just hard enough to have crisp & snap, and (best of all) were not dried out. Atlanta knows how to do wings. The fries were of the shoestring variety but they were flavored with bbq seasoning. Crazy.Good. I couldn't stop eating. I think we went through three orders.* And that was a good thing because while others were hung over the next morning, I was dewey fresh. *It wasn't just the two of us... but it could have been.
