Fried green tomatoes and hushpuppies! EXCELLENT
    Judy M.

Oh my goodness! If you haven't tried Fork in the road on LaVista in Tucker,GA then you are missing OUT! Three besties went today and we are so glad we did! Arriving at 11:45 two of us went in and grabbed a table bc the other was arriving at noon. The staff was calling out #38 by the time we left 2 hours later, they had called to 100 started over and was calling 70 when we walked out! 132 orders! Place was hopping! Three people at the front counter taking orders, calling orders and I don't know how many in the back cranking out the food BUT EVERYTHING WAS PHENOMENAL! Service was outstanding so was the peach tea yum! I ordered the Polly plate wanted to bring home food for dinner. It came with 2pcs of fish I chose catfish, 4 shrimp (I got 6) a huge mound of fried crawfish so so good and one side I chose fried green tomatoes for an up charge all that for $23.99. I also got an order of hushpuppies for the table and everyone took home at least 4 each plus what we ate! Little balls of perfection! One friend got the 2 pcs catfish and fried okra as her side which she shared and of course, scrumptious! The other friend got Polly's platter too except he got fried oysters instead of crawfish and fries plus an order of fried green tomatoes. There was a ridiculous amount of food on our table. We ate until we were stuffed then bagged up the rest. My take home was enough for both myself and my roomie for dinner and both my friends had enough for dinner! This place is EPIC and I can't wait to go back!!

They still got it going on at fork in the road. I haven't been eating out that much lately but today I do not feel like cooking so fork in the road hit the spot. The fish shrimp and fries were delicious. I haven't had one bad experience for the years that I've been eating here!

    Very reasonably priced meal

The place was hopping when I stopped by during lunch. It is a fried food heaven which is what I was hoping for! I ordered the fried shrimp with a side of onion rings and hush puppies. I am still scratching my head on the shrimp... I think it was pre cooked a bit, then breaded, and then fried. The texture was a bit off putting. The sides were wonderful! The staff was very personable. They were cranking out to go orders, pick ups, and dining in...

It's sad when you end up at the same restaurant twice in one week and then realize you've been three times in two weeks. But here we are. I found this little jewel after scrolling through the great Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. Clean. Consistent. And incredibly price-conscious it almost feels like they're looking out for you personally. I walked in thinking I'd grab a little snack and I paid actual snack prices! The sides are super reasonable, and once you finish being shocked by the cost, the quality hits you next. Everything is good good. I've gotten the Charleston Fishwich twice in two weeks, and both times the fish was fried to perfection, crispy, generously portioned, and no signs of old grease or anything questionable. I haven't ventured into the healthier options yet. I've been minding my business with the fried foods and grits for now. The ladies (and gents) at the counter are all super friendly. They take your order quickly, you wait for your number, and then they open your box like it's a little reveal moment and ask what sauces you want. I'm so impressed by the food I watch everybody else's reveal moments so I can see what they're getting. No attitude, no rushing, just genuinely kind, polite service that makes you want to come back. And I will because it's that kind of place! Cafeteria-style setup, but warm, friendly energy and great food. I'll be back.

This is one of my favorite places off Lavista Road. I've actually been dining with Fork in the Road since 2010. Back then it was at Northlake Mall where Dugans is now located. I was sad when Wendy's on Lavista closed but excited when Fork in the Road took its place. The menu is almost overwhelming but there's too many good options to choose from. Whatever you're in the mood for is most likely on the menu. You can also dine in which I sometimes do vs takeout. The manager is amazing! He gives great service every time I go. His employees are efficient and polite. Some of my favs are the Sweet Cream Cornbread, Southern Fried Chicken Salad, Wings, Tenders, Fish, Alfredo pastas with either Chicken or Salmon. There's enough seating and the decor is simple enough. It's not too loud so you could have a low key date night without all the frills. Just good food, good conversation and a budget friendly outing.

This place is a local favorite. They get busy at times but the staff is always hard at work. They also give a 5% discount if you pay cash. I have been trying their healthier options lately. Through multiple visits I got to try the Cali Salad, Grilled Cajun Catfish, Garlicy mashed potatoes, spinach and mushrooms sauté, and grilled Red fish. Everything tasted amazing. I just can't stay away from this place. Parking lot is small but there is always a spot available.

Located @ 3892 Lavista Road Tucker, GA 30084 Health Score 97 = A on 11/19/25 Today we ordered Fried whole Chicken Wings, Fried Shrimp, Fried Okra, Spinach and Mushrooms, Fried Green Tomatoes and Cajun Fries all very reasonably priced. Cierra, was our order taker and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This was our first time eating here and she was very patient while explaining the menu options. Ty, passed out my order and she went through each item to ensure that nothing was missing from our order. This was on a Wednesday afternoon and the restaurant was very busy with customers coming in and out picking up orders and dining in. The food is cooked to order but they offer a call ahead option for those who are interested. Tip: If you choose to dine inside, bring a jacket it was super cold inside to me. R&B music pumping through the speakers makes you feel right at home. Overall, our experience was great The Customer Service from Cierra and Ty was great. The food was delicious. It was everything for me!!! Trust me, I will be back soon!!!

Fried chicken salad OMG!! Awesome!! So much chicken!!

Random choice for dining and was pleasantly surprised!!! Worth the wait!! We got there at 11:15 am But by the time we finished our meal the parking lot was full! Saw lots of pick up dinners going out!!

    Carolina Salad...I think..

In the words of Tony the Tiger...."Grreeaaatttt"!! When I tell y'all this "whole in the wall" spot was BUSSN, BUSSN!! Let me paint the picture right quick: Went here for my Father n Law's Bday (he chose it by the pictures), and when we got here everybody (except me) was disappointed and really just ready to find another spot. Oh, but that quickly changed once we got our (6 of us) food! Everybody's whole entire mood changed!! They were very shocked to say the least that the food was as good as it was!!...I however, wasn't...I knew it was gonna be good just by how crowded it was when we pulled up..and I had already read the reviews! I got the Carolina Salad..I think that's the name of it. When I tell y'all this salad was the best salad I've had in a LONG time!! I had been wanting a good salad for the longest and this one "quenched my salad thirst"! My husband got the fried Catfish...bussn! Seasoned to perfection and crunchy-unchy! Anyway, needless to say I've already planned to go back in a few weeks..just at a different time so we can get better seats and parking! Oh, FYI, the parking lot is small and so is the inside!

The food was delicious. Truly like home cooking. I had a choice of red lobster or this place. I was so glad I choose this place. The portions are big and the flavor is even bigger. Service was fast and smooth And the ambiance in the restaurant was clean and full of good smelling food.

    American breakfast
    Diamond R.

I have driven past this restaurant for many years and never stop by until one of my coworkers mentioned it. I had the standard American style breakfast and it was decent but seemed like everything was not made to cook. This was why I rated it a 3 star. The bacon was tough and the food got cold pretty fast. The customer service was good though.

Place was packed at lunch! For good reason! Service was great, wait was not long if you consider food is cooked to order. All of the workers stayed busy and very efficient. The catfish fillets were huge with good breading and cooked perfectly. Coleslaw and cornbread added to the order at the end too, if you want. Great prices and a huge menu. Lots of seats inside but a lot of people ordering to go too. If on the fence about this place do yourself a favor and go!

My first visit with a friend for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy for the whole afternoon, with people eating in, taking out, and going through the drive through. The exterior doesn't look like much: it's a bit shabby but does have a nice parking lot. The inside is very welcoming with nice modern tables and booths, pleasant lighting, and homey decorations around the large windows. The staff was constantly picking up bits of trash, wiping tables, and generally cleaning which impressed me because of how busy it was at the same time. One orders at the front counter and the menu is available in hard copy or by QR code, as well as the lists of options (sides, beverages, etc.) standing on the counter. After ordering, one waits for one's number to be called to pick up the food which comes in takeout containers with disposable utensils. I had the fried chicken sandwich. It had two pieces of fried breast, lettuce, tomato, and pickles in a sturdy bun. I had this with honey mustard sauce and tater tots. The sandwich was very good, the chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The tots were a bit pale and soft; I would like them crispier and with more salt. My friend had a buffalo chicken sub that was immense; he barely made a dent in it. That came with fries. Beverages include Pepsi products and iced tea. These are filled by staff, served in disposable plastic cups with the restaurant name printed on the side. The food was good. No one hurried us to leave. Prices were very reasonable. I would like to try the fish and shrimp next time. My only suggestion is to use less single-use plastic ware.

What are the vegan options available?

Other than various salads and some vegetable sides, there aren't that many other options for people on vegan diets. Fyi, some of the veggie sides are dunked into a batter, then fried.

Service is always great, parking is easy, and the ambiance is fast casual with indoor and outdoor seating. With multiple locations around the city, the Chamblee location has become my go-to since the Decatur spot closed! I almost always order the 3-piece OG chicken (or 4-piece if I'm extra hungry) with rice, a salad with ranch, or fries, both the regular and sweet potato fries are so good! The chicken is always hot, crispy, flavorful, and consistent. I've also stopped by for brunch before and really enjoyed it, so I'm definitely planning to come back soon to check out happy hour and some of their daily specials. Ponko never disappoints!

At least those won't be cold. Our last experience at Ponko, the person behind the counter was so high out of her damn mind that we had to remind her that we already ordered food multiple times, and she just never told the cooks. Once that was settled, half of what we ordered was missing at the tenders we did get was a soggy mess of sadness. But that part was more on par with a Ponkos experience, someone overly moist soggy tenders that cost $15 for 5 of them. When they were new in town and care, they were good. But they stopped giving af awhile ago and this place is awful now. If you're in the area and want chicken tenders just call me or something, don't go here.

The honey garlic and sweet chili sauces really stood out and added a lot to the meal. The fries were the only food item I didn't care for. They come seasoned, which isn't my preference, and like many takeout fries, they didn't hold up very well once they cooled down. Parking can be a challenge in front of the restaurant because of the heavy traffic, but there is plenty of free parking available in the back, which makes things much easier. My biggest issue was the price. For 10 wings, a half chicken, and fries, the total came to about $47. In my opinion, that's a bit expensive for what you get. They also don't offer a military discount, which was disappointing. Would I go back? Maybe. The food was good and the sauces were excellent, but the prices make it hard to justify visiting regularly.
