One word- OUTSTANDING!!! This is the old Wendy's just down from Northlake Mall, on Lavista Road. It is YELLOW- and yes, you can almost miss it if you are going too fast. A decent size parking lot, a round-robin of customers & I spoke to a few who are repeats- they love it! The restaurant is clean & organized- booths & tables. Charging stations (plugs) available as well. Walk up counter, place order, wait for your number to be called. Do not be in a rush- made-to-order!! Worth the wait!!! If you are not starving- split a meal with a friend- portions are huge & truly DELICIOUS!!! Ask for sauces, if you want. They have tartare, cocktail & homemade hot sauces. Fresh lemons too. Pepsi products, sweet/unsweetened tea... NO ALCOHOL! Outstanding employees! All so nice! Big menu- ask for one if needed, they have scrolling screens & it is hard to figure out. Menu is best to figure out what you want. Literally EVERYTHING was SO fresh & delicious!!! Mom thought salty, so maybe ask for light/no salt if this is a dietary restriction. 1 of my Brothers lives on this side of town and really loves this restaurant, so he brought me and my other Brother here after we had just eaten a full meal at Mellow Mushroom around the block. He said he would pay and he was pushing the idea, so we went...Clearly, I didn't get to eat the food that I got here that night, but the food was pretty solid and the service was good. If they didn't have a current "Health Score" of 86 with a violation of - Standards NOT met: "Insects, rodents or animals NOT present" I might go back, but in the meantime, my Brother can have those extra surprises to himself!! read more

It's sad when you end up at the same restaurant twice in one week and then realize you've been three times in two weeks. But here we are. I found this little jewel after scrolling through the great Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. Clean. Consistent. And incredibly price-conscious it almost feels like they're looking out for you personally. I walked in thinking I'd grab a little snack and I paid actual snack prices! The sides are super reasonable, and once you finish being shocked by the cost, the quality hits you next. Everything is good good. I've gotten the Charleston Fishwich twice in two weeks, and both times the fish was fried to perfection, crispy, generously portioned, and no signs of old grease or anything questionable. I haven't ventured into the healthier options yet. I've been minding my business with the fried foods and grits for now. The ladies (and gents) at the counter are all super friendly. They take your order quickly, you wait for your number, and then they open your box like it's a little reveal moment and ask what sauces you want. I'm so impressed by the food I watch everybody else's reveal moments so I can see what they're getting. No attitude, no rushing, just genuinely kind, polite service that makes you want to come back. This is one of my favorite places off Lavista Road. I've actually been dining with Fork in the Road since 2010. Back then it was at Northlake Mall where Dugans is now located. I was sad when Wendy's on Lavista closed but excited when Fork in the Road took its place. The menu is almost overwhelming but there's too many good options to choose from. Whatever you're in the mood for is most likely on the menu. You can also dine in which I sometimes do vs takeout. The manager is amazing! He gives great service every time I go. His employees are efficient and polite. Some of my favs are the Sweet Cream Cornbread, Southern Fried Chicken Salad, Wings, Tenders, Fish, Alfredo pastas with either Chicken or Salmon. There's enough seating and the decor is simple enough. It's not too loud so you could have a low key date night without all the frills. Just good food, good conversation and a budget friendly outing. read more

This place is a local favorite. They get busy at times but the staff is always hard at work. They also give a 5% discount if you pay cash. I have been trying their healthier options lately. Through multiple visits I got to try the Cali Salad, Grilled Cajun Catfish, Garlicy mashed potatoes, spinach and mushrooms sauté, and grilled Red fish. Everything tasted amazing. Cierra, was our order taker and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. This was our first time eating here and she was very patient while explaining the menu options. Ty, passed out my order and she went through each item to ensure that nothing was missing from our order. This was on a Wednesday afternoon and the restaurant was very busy with customers coming in and out picking up orders and dining in. The food is cooked to order but they offer a call ahead option for those who are interested. Tip: If you choose to dine inside, bring a jacket it was super cold inside to me. Arriving at 11:45 two of us went in and grabbed a table bc the other was arriving at noon. The staff was calling out #38 by the time we left 2 hours later, they had called to 100 started over and was calling 70 when we walked out! 132 orders! Place was hopping! Three people at the front counter taking orders, calling orders and I don't know how many in the back cranking out the food BUT EVERYTHING WAS PHENOMENAL! Service was outstanding so was the peach tea yum! I ordered the Polly plate wanted to bring home food for dinner. It came with 2pcs of fish I chose catfish, 4 shrimp (I got 6) a huge mound of fried crawfish so so good and one side I chose fried green tomatoes for an up charge all that for $23.99. I also got an order of hushpuppies for the table and everyone took home at least 4 each plus what we ate! Little balls of perfection! One friend got the 2 pcs catfish and fried okra as her side which she shared and of course, scrumptious! The other friend got Polly's platter too except he got fried oysters instead of crawfish and fries plus an order of fried green tomatoes. There was a ridiculous amount of food on our table. We ate until we were stuffed then bagged up the rest. My take home was enough for both myself and my roomie for dinner and both my friends had enough for dinner! This spot is pretty damn good and you have to be careful with it. It is real southern comfort food, FOR REAL. Lots of fried things. Eat responsibly, folks. LOL. They are very well known for their wings, both the traditional and party variety. This is typically all I come here to get. Perfect texture. And VERY filling portions for the price. I've tried most of their sauces and you really can't go wrong with any; they have a sauce for every mood! Those sweet potato bites are lowkey addictive. And this is the only place in the area where I can find a good slice of key lime pie..... to die for. The service is always great. But the signage helped. It was packed but orderly and the line moved fast. I told the staff that it was my first time and I wanted to know if they recommend the Grilled Salmon or the Salmon Alfredo! The Alfredo was suggested I added broccoli and mushrooms. The customer service was great! The food was prepared quickly, portionsize was huge and the food was great! Coming from D.C., I was used to the prices and thought the amount of food would be enough to satisfy my hunger. I WAS SO WRONG IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. My first visit with a friend for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy for the whole afternoon, with people eating in, taking out, and going through the drive through. The exterior doesn't look like much: it's a bit shabby but does have a nice parking lot. The inside is very welcoming with nice modern tables and booths, pleasant lighting, and homey decorations around the large windows. The staff was constantly picking up bits of trash, wiping tables, and generally cleaning which impressed me because of how busy it was at the same time. One orders at the front counter and the menu is available in hard copy or by QR code, as well as the lists of options (sides, beverages, etc.) standing on the counter. After ordering, one waits for one's number to be called to pick up the food which comes in takeout containers with disposable utensils. I had the fried chicken sandwich. It had two pieces of fried breast, lettuce, tomato, and pickles in a sturdy bun. I had this with honey mustard sauce and tater tots. The sandwich was very good, the chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The tots were a bit pale and soft; I would like them crispier and with more salt. My friend had a buffalo chicken sub that was immense; he barely made a dent in it. That came with fries. Beverages include Pepsi products and iced tea. These are filled by staff, served in disposable plastic cups with the restaurant name printed on the side. The food was good. No one hurried us to leave. Prices were very reasonable. I would like to try the fish and shrimp next time. My only suggestion is to use less single-use plastic ware. read more
