Our waitress was over and above with a special birthday request l had. The food was very good except they forgot to put the vinaigrette on my pear roquetfort salad. My salad was pretty much a head of chopped romaine with a few slivers of sliced pear, about 10 pecans, 3 or 4 chopped red onion, 10 dried cranberries and a few tiny crumbs of roquefort cheese. The few crumbs l had were so tiny l could barely spear them on the fork. Everyone else enjoyed their meal, but l had been looking forward to the salad and was extremely . I left the chopped romaine on my plate as without the vinaigrette it was extremely tasteless. I would go back again and try something else. The French fries and the pickeral salad were delicious, but alas, l had not ordered them. read more

Ate at this restaurant on the first day spent in this town. The waitress was friendly and seated my party on a second level with no customers occupied in that level yet. Ordered a beer battered Haddock for dinner. This dinner comes with vegetables and potatoes. I requested to substitute the potatoes with sweet potato fries. It was a delicious meal and the service was good. However, two other individuals in my party had issues with their order. A friend of mine was asked if he wanted any gravy with his fries. The waitress did not mention any extra cost would be charged and so he ordered the fries with gravy. Another individual was asked if he needed any bacon with his beef liver meal. Similarly, he was charged extra for the bacon but the waitress did not mention about it. Although I have no issue with my order, I am not very happy with how my friends were being treated in a dishonest manner. The waitress did mention about some items would have extra charge on them but on the two specific items my friends ordered. I won't come back again. read more

Family owned and operated for 30+ years. The menu is fairly basic, but they have daily specials. It was quite busy when I was there, so it seems to be a town favourite. Good portions, good burger, good Greek salad. Only complaint about the salad was that I asked for no olives. They didn't put the olives on the salad but there was definitely olives in the dressing :( Service was friendly and attentive. read more

Interesting place. Came with my daughters for breakfast/lunch. Ended up with the lunch options. Ordered bruschetta for us all. The bread was cut interestingly with half the bread traditionally open and the other still seasoned. Only head scratcher was scallion as opposed to basil on the tomato. Should have had both. One thing I will definitely say, this restaurant makes world class fries. Hot damn. They are fantastic. Youngest daughter ordered chicken fingers. They were a notch above Pinty's oven fingers, but nothing special. Eldest ordered spaghetti which basically the sauce was a mishmash of canned tomato salt and sugar. It was bland at best. Perhaps for the kids but nothing to be proud of. I myself ordered the haddock. Certainly had a touch of the fish taste, but not jarring and the batter was better than I expected. Overall that was a winner. I would have ordered halibut in an instant but I was pleasantly surprised and the presentation was great, although the half cob of corn could have easily been replaced by a few more fries or a coleslaw. read more

i am not a trapper but I have been to this restaurant maybe 12 times in the past couple of years. i always order the portabella mushroom sandwich and have never been disappointed. Though i am stuck on one item there are lots of other great choices to choose from. In addition, have been there for breakfast and have never left wanting. This is my favourite place to eat in the town of Parry Sound. The waitstaff is friendly and quick. The food is very good and they are able to cater to food allergies. Burgers are great and filling, also the soups are delicious and the chicken caeser salad is big and also very good. All meals are generous, so you won't leave hungry. They decor is very cool. Back in Parry Sound again this year and our propane on the trailer is empty so twist my arm my husband says let's try Trappers again. We arrived around 7 and it's packed with tourists and locals alike. I had the corn beef on rye sandwich and greens, simple and tasty and my husband had the Cajun sole. Another great dinner! My family was looking to eat past 7 pm and found this place. While looking at the menu there seemed to be many selections I could have. We chose the hot turkey, chicken fingers, 1/4 chicken. Everything was presented well, portions were perfect and the vegetable was a surprise with corn on the cob. It was all Delish! Servers were very nice and very happy:) we would definitely go back. The decor was simple and comfortable. The lack of 1 star has no reason other than no one is perfect - but this was close. We tipped 15 %. - which is my top end:) enjoy:)))) read more

Trappers never disappoints. The portions are large and the wait staff are attentive. They recently hosted us for a party of 7 and in the past have seated and served our entire (very hungry) Bantam boys hockey team incl. parents and siblings. If you find yourself hungry in Parry Sound, Trappers is a good option! read more

The food was OK. Service was OK. What gives this place the 1 star review is the horrific digestive distress that my wife and I experienced that started before we had even left the parking lot.
