Italian Restaurant in Ocean City MD
    Joe R.

Visit in ocean city MD , stopped by this place for some Italian food. Got the chicken parm with angel hair pasta. Portions were small , one chicken cutlet and pasta no salad came with your meal but the chicken was tender and the pasta was good with the sauce. Pizza wasn't bad but you can't compare New York Pizza to any other place. Place was packed but we sat pretty quick. Had sweet tea with free refills and the service was fast food was hot and the staff was very friendly and polite.

Heard about this place from a friend who visited. Fist day we got pizza, w/M and O, Very good pie, thinner crust, but flavors are there. Next day we all got pasta, Outstanding, sauce was flavorful, cant say a bad thing about the food. When you see a restaurant that people are circling around the lot looking for a place to park-Has to be good, Got takeout the first time for pizza, about 6:00, it was a madhouse. Next day we opted for an earlier dinner, 4:00, seated quickly, definitely a place to return to. If planning on visiting, I'd suggest street parking -on Biscayne. The lot can be a nightmare.

Lombardis was a mixed experience. The pizza was incredible and the mozzarella sticks were some of the best ever. The pasta was definitely homemade and was delicious. We were able to get a table right away and were excited, because right when you walked in, the restaurant smelled like an authentic, amazing Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, our pizza came out about 20 minutes before the rest of the entrees. Additionally, the waitress said she did not have time to bring us bread and that it would come with the pastas. When we asked for no onions on the salad, we were told it was premade. And most disappointingly, the chicken we got as a side was not cooked. The waitress did not charge us for it but her attitude was very rude. I would definitely go back for pizza and would maybe consider carryout. Having a waitress or waiter that is hospitable and welcoming really can add to or ruin an experience. I'm confident that my experience is not typical because of how busy the restaurant was and always is.

Definitely a mixed experience during my visit here. Stopped by on a Sunday and even though the place was packed, we were able to get seated right away. Was able to place our order pretty quickly, but the rest of the experience was a bit off. We did get our salads and mozzarella sticks pretty quickly, but our pizza arrived at least 20 minutes before the rest of our entrees. Whats strange is the other entrees were just pasta, so you would think that would have came out first. We had to keep asking our server where the rest of the food was and she was a bit rude. I do understand the restaurant was busy and the food coming out isn't her fault, but there's definitely better ways to go about it. She seemed overwhelmed and when I went to ask for a refill of my tea, she ended up bringing me water instead. When the pastas did arrive, our one pasta dish was just sauce lumped on top, not even mixed together. The other pasta came with sauce on the side (which is how we asked for it) but then a piece of chicken that was basically rubber. The pizza was great and I'd probably get it again, but I'd skip the rest.

Listen. This joint is making delicious pizza. While it has thicker crust than most, it's not Detroit style or deep dish- but the flavors and "ambience" transported me back to the little Italian joints in Chicago suburbs- the small mom and pop shops I grew up on. Thick cheese flavored by all the greats - not just the mozzarella - stands up to their crust- so everything is perfectly balanced. I loved the old school stained glass light fixtures and dark wood booths - just like the old days. Don't change a thing!

Great OC restaurant. We enjoyed two meals in a week. Mushroom pasta and tortellini were amazing. Great experience.

Saw this last year and said have to try it. Was very good. Although was a veal patty just wasn't the same. Has a side of meatball and sausage. Very fast and friendly service. A definite for next year.

We stayed across the street from this restaurant and walked over in our first night after our 4.5+ hour drive to OC. We all liked it so much that when the place we planed on going to later in the week was closed after the boardwalk, we came back here. We had a wait which was expected but our table was ready and service was fast. We asked for bread and it was freshly sliced and warm and delicious. Our daughters ordered chicken parm and like that they were able to pick their pasta. They both said the chicken was good and had leftover pasta and ordered it again the 2nd time we went. I ordered the shrimp scampi with spaghetti which was a bit overcooked for me but still good. The next time I too ordered the chicken parm and it was very good, with vodka sauce and penne. The vodka sauce was excellent. My husband had the bolognese and loved it. Ordered it the 2nd time and wanted to stop in our way home for a 3rd portion or to order the sauce!! lol. The pizza was very good too. We had it both times and brought the leftovers back to the hotel and it was good even cold. Service was quick and efficient. Place is like stepping into grandmas house. We will definitely be back next time we're in OC MD.

Been almost ten years since my last review, time for an update! We dine here every time we visit Ocean City. It's an old school Italian restaurant. The service is fast so don't be discouraged about the long wait times. It is a bit of a wait if you have a larger party than 4 though. Can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and pasta. My wife says this place has the best clams in linguine with white sauce. I've had their lasagna and other pasta dishes, and it tasted great. I believe their pastas are homemade. The owner is great and so nice.

I'm back again at this delicious pizza spot in OC! We arrived around 7PM and the wait was only 10 minutes long, the staff were kind and welcoming to attending to our order. This time, I got the Summer Special pizza and sigh, it was DELICIOUS and refreshing. The flavors were robust! This is a great place to gather with family and friends, just to make some delicious memories :)

Chewy and tough crust, couldn't eat it.
    Dian R.

Ordered for pick up and it was on time, 15 mins. The flavor was of average pizza, nothing to rave about. The crust was so chewy and tough my jaws hurt after eating it! Not crispy and def didnt pass the flop test! Light on the sauce and cheese too. I was excited to try it after seeing some of the positive reviews- maybe they just a bad day, but we won't be going back.

Liquid gold ... aka the sauce!

All dishes were overcooked beyond recognition. The pasta scampi was watery and had no flavor. Service was very uncoordinated.

Order a drink and an appetizer then main course when ready. Portions are very generous. We had ample leftovers- see the pictures- for dinner tomorrow when we get back home.and the pricing were reasonable. The bread is crispy, fresh and warm. So to the food. All the portions are large. Calamari as an appetizer- ohhhh So good. Very light and crispy, not dense or big clumps of calamari. Sauce was spot on. Slight pepper taste to it. They had a special tonight- ossobuco (pork shank) tomato sauce and gnocchi which the mrs had- and so did four others near us. The pork was so tender and fell off the bone, very very good. I was highly encouraged to have the chicken parm. Not sure how the hell they found a chicken that big for the portion I received. Outstanding. Lightly breaded, juicy, very nice sauce and goobs of cheesy goodness.. how any human could eat this in one sitting is beyond me. We have amble leftovers for tomorrow. Mrs got cannolis to go. Pizza made on the spot.. we will be back and this spot is highly recommended.. I found the prices reasonable and better than other offerings in the area. They close at 9 so keep that in mind..

The Greek salad and Margherita pizza is our go to, but we have had their cheesesteak subs, lasagna, and their various assortments of desserts. Ripieno's special-brew chai iced tea is something else that has always kept us coming back. That is until today. While the pizza and salad were still very good, they weren't as outstanding as they have been in the past. Customer service is not the same as it once was. When we ordered the chai tea, this evening, no orange and lemon slices were offered. As we were dining outside, I walked in to ask if they had orange and lemon slices for the iced-tea available. The cashier first seemed as though he didn't see me, and then when i caught his attention and asked about the slices of orange and lemon for the tea, he looked at me as if he didn't not know what I was talking about. I looked at the girl behind the counter that walked over with the salad dressing that had not been delivered with our salads and asked her about the fruit. She looked confused as well and said they didn't have any. The iced-tea on its own is very good, but the slices of orange and lemon really make it great! Back to the food...when our pizza was brought to the table, the gentleman that delivered it, (I think he may have been attending the wood-fire oven) threw our paper plates on the table. Next came the Greek salads. We were short two sets of silverware which was noticed by the second server. She said she would return with silverware, but didn't. So, I went back inside and asked for the two sets of silverware we needed. I was asked if I wanted plastic. I responded that I would prefer metal silverware. The girl disappeared and returned several minutes later with the silverware. I realize it is the busy season, but the restaurant was not busy. We've been during the busy season and in the off season and have always had wonderful experiences. I am truly hoping that this was a one-time thing, and that Ripieno's will return to the same familiar place we used to love to go.

I was actually pretty pleased here... up to that point. Then the entrees came and all four were plain dreadful. Anything with red sauce was painful to eat. If you have any sense of moderately decent Italian food, I suggest avoiding this place. Just have another night of boardwalk food.
