DaVinchi's By the Sea offers traditional Italian Cuisine in an unpretentious, family owned place located on the Boardwalk at 15th Street. The Restaurant is located inside of the Harrison Hall Hotel, which you can access via the Hotel or right off the Boardwalk. Our group arrived separately near closing time, but the staff were nonplussed. Our Server was a delightful person who had only recently joined Team DaVinchi's. Jennifer was full of personality and helpful suggestions on the menu. We started with a round of drinks, Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, Cabernet and a Cosmopolitan (admittedly the Cosmo seemed to be a bit short on the Cranberry Juice). Shared a tasty Garlic Shrimp appetizer with generous amounts of garlic white wine butter. I enjoyed my shrimp with the fresh hot, Italian bread with garlic butter that is served to start things off. The Italian salad served family style comes with homemade dressing that DaVinchi's is extremely proud of. The salad was incredibly fresh and delicious. I cannot express to you how wonderful it is! I had two helpings--Gustoso. Ta-da! We sampled: Lasagne, Flounder (Catch of the Day), Veal Parmigiana & Calamari Marinara. We had a couple special requests and all were accommodated perfectly. DaVinchi's turned out to be lots of fun, with superb service and delizioso food. No white table cloths but the food is the Star. Thanks again Jennifer, you are the BEST!

I love Italian and had a short window of opportunity to grab some lobster ravioli, wine and a single cannoli. I sat at the bar (no reservation) and the bartender was working her arse off. She managed to attend to me while serving drinks by her lonesome for the rest of the restaurant. I enjoyed dropping by for my Italian fix!

I came here last night while visiting my parents for the weekend and we had the absolute best time! The restaurant was recommended by family members who vacation in OC every summer. The ambiance was cozy and clean with a welcoming hostess. I ordered the Italian margarita and it was quite honestly the most delicious cocktail I may have ever had. Perfect. My dad ordered one after tasting how good it was. Next, the unlimited salad and bread was a great touch with delicious dressing and herbed butter. We had to order a second round. All three of us were in the mood for eggplant Parmesan which had a fresh roasted flavor and a delicious chunky marinara sauce. We were so full we skipped dessert and shared a High Roller orange martini in place of dessert. Also a phenomenal cocktail. After reading the other reviews, I do feel the cocktails have not received enough attention they deserve! (And at a great price) Five stars also to our service. Our waiter Colin was friendly and attentive. And the owner stopped by to check on how we were doing as well. This place is a must-stop in OC!

The restaurant was following what seemed safe COVID precautions. However, the food itself was very disappointing. We ordered the crab ravioli as an appetizer and the tortellini with peas and prosciutto. The four ravioli that came with the $12 appetizer were rather disappointing, and while the red pepper sauce was flavorful it wasn't worth the money. The entree was even worse. Tri-colored pasta that we can buy in the grocery store (I understand this could be due to COVID and supply issues which is why I'm rating them 3 instead of 2 stars) but the meat, the small amount there was, we found to be chewy, stringy and flavorless. With Peas in the name I thought I would find more then three and the sauce wasn't fully incorporated, spots of cream cheese still floating, before it was plated. The final nail in the coffin were the chunks of garlic that were found throughout the dish. I was hoping to find a simple slightly nicer restaurant to celebrate our anniversary but this was a disappointment. There was only one waitress for the entire dining floor and she seemed a bit scattered. The table next to ours was complaining of cold food when we were beelining for the door. I wish I could say more positives because I like to support local places in these times, perhaps on our next trip we will give them another chance.

Salad! So unique and awesome. Salad coleslaw hybrid! I love chick peas/garbanzo beans

Good sized bar, full service, TV's (NHL Playoffs were on) Staff were great. Side note, whomever was in charge of the playlist knew his or her assignment- well done. Very much an old Italian restaurant feel. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. And heads up the meal will arrive quickly. So do what we did. Order a drink and an appetizer then main course when ready. Portions are very generous. We had ample leftovers- see the pictures- for dinner tomorrow when we get back home.and the pricing were reasonable. The bread is crispy, fresh and warm. So to the food. All the portions are large. Calamari as an appetizer- ohhhh So good. Very light and crispy, not dense or big clumps of calamari. Sauce was spot on. Slight pepper taste to it. They had a special tonight- ossobuco (pork shank) tomato sauce and gnocchi which the mrs had- and so did four others near us. The pork was so tender and fell off the bone, very very good. I was highly encouraged to have the chicken parm. Not sure how the hell they found a chicken that big for the portion I received. Outstanding. Lightly breaded, juicy, very nice sauce and goobs of cheesy goodness.. how any human could eat this in one sitting is beyond me. We have amble leftovers for tomorrow. Mrs got cannolis to go. Pizza made on the spot.. we will be back and this spot is highly recommended.. I found the prices reasonable and better than other offerings in the area. They close at 9 so keep that in mind..

While not positioned as organic, the food reflects authentic Italian execution. The pizza stands out: a light, well-fermented airy crust, balanced and refined sauce, and thoughtfully curated toppings. The menu offers elevated, gourmet combinations without being overworked. Desserts are made in-house and well executed. The flourless cake, in particular, is rich without being heavy. The Greek salad and Margherita pizza is our go to, but we have had their cheesesteak subs, lasagna, and their various assortments of desserts. Ripieno's special-brew chai iced tea is something else that has always kept us coming back. That is until today. While the pizza and salad were still very good, they weren't as outstanding as they have been in the past. Customer service is not the same as it once was. When we ordered the chai tea, this evening, no orange and lemon slices were offered. As we were dining outside, I walked in to ask if they had orange and lemon slices for the iced-tea available. The cashier first seemed as though he didn't see me, and then when i caught his attention and asked about the slices of orange and lemon for the tea, he looked at me as if he didn't not know what I was talking about. I looked at the girl behind the counter that walked over with the salad dressing that had not been delivered with our salads and asked her about the fruit. She looked confused as well and said they didn't have any. The iced-tea on its own is very good, but the slices of orange and lemon really make it great! Back to the food...when our pizza was brought to the table, the gentleman that delivered it, (I think he may have been attending the wood-fire oven) threw our paper plates on the table. Next came the Greek salads. We were short two sets of silverware which was noticed by the second server. She said she would return with silverware, but didn't. So, I went back inside and asked for the two sets of silverware we needed. I was asked if I wanted plastic. I responded that I would prefer metal silverware. The girl disappeared and returned several minutes later with the silverware. I realize it is the busy season, but the restaurant was not busy. We've been during the busy season and in the off season and have always had wonderful experiences. I am truly hoping that this was a one-time thing, and that Ripieno's will return to the same familiar place we used to love to go.

At the time, we had just eaten dinner at a nearby fancy restaurant that was underwhelming. Last night, we finally made it in. However last night, I felt we had the best server. Olya was very good care of us and was really friendly. As for dinner, whenever my wife and I go to Italian restaurants, we tend to split items. We got the Insalata di Cesare ($15), Margherita pizza ($18), and Polpette ($14) which are 3 meatballs mixed with beef and pork. We ended dinner by splitting the cheesecake ($12) that included chocolate chips and a small cannoli on top. The only minor change I'd recommend is to change the croutons in the salad as they were really hard. Otherwise, everything else was absolutely fantastic!

I ordered a drink and pondered the menu while watching what my neighbors ordered. The tacos were indeed on corn tortillas (by request according to our server on our second visit). The shrimp boil looked excellent although the couple next to me preferred the aguachile version. We missed happy hour both times, which was disappointing because I paid $12 for the same sangria that is half that price before five pm. No worries, it was delicious either way. The sangria came half full in an extra large glass because they were out of normal glasses. It's garnished with a sprig of rosemary and an orange wedge. I settled on the Blitzkreig Bibimbap bowl, a fabulous creation with a perfect steak over basmati rice garnished with avocado, seaweed salad, kimchee and a fried egg with spicy sauce. WOW I loved this dish. Tried to recreate it at a mongolian bbq later and missed by a mile. Shotti's Point has a varied menu and seems to do a stellar job on ALL OF IT. Ordered a Old Pro Chicken wrap for husband to go, he was back at the vacation rental while my exercise walk ended up at the bar. He had to eat it twice to finish the wrap so it was large, but alas I did not secure a photo. He saved his side (a literal bag of doritos). They got the "avocado on the side" part correct and left the chili sauce on the side too. He thought the shaved egg was an odd addition to this wrap but otherwise it was good. On a second visit together, he ordered a pepperoni mushroom pizza while I had the El Guapo tacos. No drinks, as we had been to Seacrets that day for a distillery tour and needed to hydrate! The pizza was a beautiful creation, lightly charred crust and hunks of fresh burrata dotted with curled up pepperoni cups. The tacos were delicious, but it was not the blackened chicken that made my nose run it was the bangkok chili sauce! Topped with a bit of lettuce and cabbage, the chicken seemed a little dry. Requested and received a side of the most delicious salsa, so then I was very happy. The corn tortillas were dry, could have used more time on the griddle with a little oil. They lost structural integrity long before being fully consumed. This was a quick visit at the bar for our meals since there were two seats immediately available. The place was packed at 7pm on a Thursday, a testament to the quality of their food. It was loud and fun, but we ate and ran (with no argument from our bartender). I did enjoy sitting by the pizza prep station and watching the artists at work. Smile.
