Had another fabulous experience at West OC Carabba's on Route 50. Our server, Leana, and her oriented, Stephen, did an excellent job making sure our experience was world class. From the time we were seated to the time we left, we felt valued. I ordered the Padta Weezie and my husband ordered the salmon (his usual). Both were perfect. The meal started off with bread and fresh herbs in oil....always a highlight. Paired with red sangria, excellent. Leanna's fabulous, checking with us a few times to assure our expectations were met. On first entering the restaurant, we were immediately impressed with a large display throughout the restaurant of fall glass pumpkins. Just beautiful!!!! Before we left, the manager, Heather, came around and chatted with us. She is also kind, professional and passionate about assuring customer satisfaction. She brought the decorations from her home! We told her that the service team in her establishment was above standard and reflect her management. This team is a synergistic and work together to produce a great experience for their customers. As usual it takes just one bad experience to ruin a customer's view of a restaurant. We will NEVER eat there again. Totally screwed up a Togo order and will not make it right that same night. It was a good run, but never again. No one is ever held accountable for sheer incompetence these days. Simply setting up a food runner type service to deliver the correct order would have been all we asked for.. but here we are with the wrong food (which is not even a dish I would ever order) and time is past to make it right. After a long day at the beach, our party of 10 went out for a late dinner. We planned on eating at a Mexican restaurant, but were told that it was an hour wait. We don't typically eat at chain restaurants while on vacation, but Carrabba's was in walking distance to the Mexican restaurant, and there was no wait. Every staff member that served us was as nice as can be. And all 10 of us LOVED our meal!! The pasta portions are HUGE, so plan on bringing home a doggie bag!!! We ordered carry out. We knew the food would be good (Carrabba's always is) but we were blown away by the carry-out meal. Not only did it come with loaf of Italian bread, but also olive oil and spices to go with it. The next course, salad, was great with the creamy Italian dressing. Finally, my sirloin and his shrimp and scallops were as good as eating in the restaurant. It came hot and complete. Good food in the comfort of home. Great experience. read more

The Ambience was very nice! We could hold a conversation quietly and enjoy the lighting. The service was exceptional! Our server, Candace was attentive and courteous. We ordered the $40 takeout meal. The shrimp was not as good as the last time we got it in the takeout meal. The lasagna looked like it had been cooked in a dishwasher. The 5 small dilapidated raviolis were pitiful. They had about a teaspoon of sauce on them. The rest of the food was good like the salad, bread, broccoli, & cookies. Even in the offseason, finding a place for dinner on a Saturday night in OCMD can be tricky. You've some places that are closed for the season, a place like the Greene Turtle with a full parking lot and a CFA with no line that looked closed. My main point of ordering here was not that I expected it to be good (my dislike of chain Italian knows no boundaries) but that it could be ordered for car side pickup and that it could be done relatively fast. The setup is easy enough: * Go to the website * Choose your location * Order away with a decent ability to customize certain things Mozz Sticks - Chicken Parm - Fettuccini Carraba (X2) The sticks were basically cold by the time we got them. Part of that is me being a little late for the pickup time and part of that is their odd pick up process. The chicken parm was middle of the road decent. The accompanying penne was tiny and basically flavorless. While I will admit to subbing into this side, I just didn't see garlic mashed as a good side to chicken parm. Maybe I should have? The fettuccini (chicken alfredo) was deemed to be good and was probably the best thing overall. While they did remember the plastic cutlery, they forgot one of the accompanying salads which in the end was fine since the two they did put in were microscopic in size and came with a thimble of dressing. At somewhere like Olive Garden you have dedicated parking spaces for pickup orders. You show up and text your space number and the food is brought out. Not here. They have spaces and the sign on their side door says wait in your car and someone will be out. Nay-Nay on this one. After five minutes I call the main number and the person who answered said that they don't have dedicated spaces and that the signs they have in the parking lot must have gotten blown back into place by the wind. She said pull up to the side door and she'll be out. Five minutes later she was. There's got to be a better way. Overall not great, but not bad either. Would I do it again? Maybe, but the order pickup process needs to be cleaned up and made more efficient or else why even bother offering it? read more

Mediocre Italian My sister, my niece and I decided to go to Carrabba's for dinner. My sister ordered the Mezzaluna, which was delicious, I and my niece ordered the Fettuccini Carrabba, which was always delicious in the past, but it came out dry. Our server was Morgan E., and she was not very friendly, nor did she smile. We asked her for butter when our bread came out and she never provided it. My niece and I asked her for extra fettuccini sauce, and she brought out this little cup of sauce which you could see the butter floating around the ends of the sauce. It was enough sauce for only one plate, so I let my niece have it. Morgan never offered to refill our cups, so my niece asked her for a refill. Morgan was not that great of a server! We gave her a $25 gift card and 2 bank cards, and we specifically told her to apply the gift card and split the remaining balance among the 2 bank cards. She did not follow our instructions. Carrabba's is always such a great place to take your family. The service is great and the food is predictable. I had the shrimp salad and it was great. The bread is wonderful. Although Carrabba's is pretty consistent for quality, and this is no exception, the prices here seem to be at least 30% more than any other Carrabba's. I visited. Maybe it's because it's near Ocean City, which shouldn't be allowed to be more, but it is... Also the thing that bothered me the most was it seems like the chicken dish that I got(chicken Rosa) was 30 to 50% smaller in portion that it used to be, so be aware that you're going to pay more and get less, I think they call that shrink inflation. I'm a bit bias because we go to Carrabbas quite often. It is one of our favorite chain restaurants. Our server was great. Very friendly and attentive. The ambience is always good and the food was delicious. From the chicken marsala to the sirloin, to the chicken parm and the positano, everything was delicious. The only good thing about this place was our waitress. The hosts didn't bring a kid menu for us, our server went to get one for us. We had chicken parm and eggplant parm and they were both terrible. Our server was excellent and gave us several coupons for a free kids meal just because. We did not complain there as there is no point she can't change our food, but we didn't even go back to use the coupons because we wouldn't eat the food again. The last time I went to a Carrabas was probably ten years ago in Bowie (Prince George's County) MD. A friend took me out for lunch. It was OK as far as I remember. Fast forward to last night where I met up with a social group I'm involved with at the Carrrabas in West Ocean City for our Christmas "party". First off, the wait staff was terrific. Lindsay was our waitress and she was friendly, attentive, and quick. Five stars for Lindsay and the wait staff especially since we were such a large group (about 25). The food and drinks also came out quickly once we placed our orders. The only downside was the food itself. It really wasn't anything to write home about. I had the veal piccata and I think the sauce was too thick and gravy-like. OK but not great. I didn't really order any appetizers so I can't say how they were. Others at the gathering seemed plenty happy with their meal so maybe it was just me being overly picky. Anyway, if you're in West Ocean City and happen to want some Italian food, this place is pretty nice. read more

Hostess took us to our table and accidentally dropped one of the menus onto the floor. She promptly picked it up and put it right there on top of the table where we were being seated. The waitress showed up a few minutes later and took our drink order. I had mentioned and showed our waitress the dead fly that was at the end of the table. She looked at it and said that they have a fly issue, but somehow seemed that leaving the fly there was a good idea. Our waitress came back with our drinks and took our order. She left while my dead fly was still sitting at the end of the table all while other little tiny flies, entertained us around our drinks around our face around the bread bowl and our plates. Our waitress returned with our food, but before she left, I picked up a little white napkin, grab the dead fly, folded it up and said, would you mind taking this away? She said I'm sorry about that. I wasn't convinced of the same. My thoughts were, this could've gone a whole different direction had she just removed the fly when I showed it to her. We had our dinner, which was very good by the way, except for those pesky little flies that were EVERYWHERE. As I was fanning them away I was thinking as to how you could have such a terrible fly issue in February, unless they are harboring themselves with food and shelter inside. We waited for our waitress to finish her lengthy story time conversation with the patrons seated near us so I could ask her for more water and the check. When the check arrived, I noticed that Carrabba's is one of those places that challenges your intellect by putting on suggestions for a tip by percentages on your bill. After viewing their suggestion, I noticed that they included in their, "suggestion percentage", the required state tax. I'm not leaving a percentage of gratuity based upon Maryland's state tax that I have to pay. Two stars, only because the food was good, but not proportionally matching the price. read more

Crap customer service. My husband parked outside of Carrabba's and we discussed what to get over the phone while viewing their menu online so we didn't tie anyone up. Once we decided the order, Hubby goes in to place it but was refused because it was 8:31pm and apparently they stop taking orders at 8:30pm. I kid you not - refused for one damn minute past 8:30p. Mind you, their 8:30pm cut off is posted nowhere in the restaurant or online so we would know. For trying to be respectful of her time, we were refused service because of one minute. Guess we should've been obnoxious and tied her up so we could give her a reason to be a jerk. Service was a little slow but our waitress was very friendly, happy hour 4-7 half price apps and $5 libations. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita and the Mussels. They serve a loaf of bread with oil and herbs for the table. Mussels with a delicious broth, lots of garlic maybe too much but I loved the flavor with the bread. We ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Linguine, Shrimp & Sea scallops Spiedino with asparagus and Chicken Trio. Shrimp were a good size in both dishes and Ocean scallops were tender and perfectly cooked, came in a vodka cream sauce- which was very good. The other dish had much more flavor in the Shrimp & Sea Scallops- they were slightly breaded and were grilled -had Parmesan cheese & garlic in the breading but very light. Chicken Trio were tender, fresh, and had a side of pasta. All the dishes came with a side of pasta - you can chose and soup or salad. The lentil soup was very good too. This is the kind of restraunt that you need to bring an attorney with you to read the menu. My wife took me to west Ocean City MD location for my birthday tonight. Left pussed off because they screwed us at every opportunity. We ordered house wine during happy hour, were overcharged $3 for each glass. One entree said it comes with a salad and side. Bill has $2.50 up charge for the side. We didn't read fine print on menu. Do not understand why restraunts can not have straightforward menu. Will not make this mistake with Carrabas again. Acknowledging that this is a chain restaurant, and everything is thawed from frozen, the stack of wood outback tempted me for the 'wood fired pizza'. The thin crust was flat, in size, shape & texture, no rise, no air bubbles, no yeasty aroma, just flat bread. Assuming the red stuff was sauce, and the globs of yellow/off-white grainy lumps were some mutate form of cheese; there was a drizzle of cheap, pungent olive oil. Here's the analogy.....left over cold Pizza Hut pizza warmed in the microwave, finished in the oven. Called ahead, 7 pm party of 4. Hard to point out many positives. I would say the service would be a positive. She did a good job. The rest is kitchen & leadership. Way Over cooked steaks. Broccoli was mushy. Potatoes were not hot. Poorly put together salad, not fresh at all. But seriously, who is in charge here? I never saw anyone, who resembled being someone in charge, walk through the restaurant. The only reason we chose to go here, I was thinking some place different and for our daughter to have meatless options. Came here after horrible experiences finding a place to eat over to the boardwalk and it did not disappoint. The fried mozzarella app was amazing!!!! All of the entrees were amazing. Hubby had the chicken parm w/ fettuccine Alfredo and loved it. My daughter had the spaghetti and bolognese sauce and it was very tasty. Both my kiddos loved it. I had the seafood penne alla vodka. Delish as well! The Caesar salad that comes with the entrees was very good as well. Def recommend. For dessert we had the Connolly cake....absolutely yummy. We were all fighting for a bite. The waitress was super sweet and recommended the app and the dessert. Didn't disappoint at all. The only con was the long wait. However, with covid...many places are struggling to keep up. read more
