This was amazing! I was waiting to experience the cheese wheel pasta phenomenon... and this didnt disappointment. Staying in Ocean City was a blessing. The coastal breeze, familiar scents in the air - it was the perfect atmosphere. Arose from the sun-bleached afternoon, only to realize the Pasta Cheese Wheel place closed at like 8 or 9 pm. Luckily, it was only about a 12-minute walk from my hotel room. Bliss Bliss... The cheese was so thick, warm, and gooey; the staff was informative, and even 15 minutes before closing after a long hot day at the beach, they were willing to indulge an enthusiastic patron. I asked it the sausage was rustic... she showed me a pan and said... this is the sausage - the sausage is good.... It was a great experience. I ordered the chicken for my protein and fettuccine for my pasta; my daughter and I watched as they swirled the freshly made pasta in a giant cheese wheel. Full experience - and I enjoyed every minute. Also - they do not skimp on the size. It was gigantic. The bowl was huge. But also so super delicious- I couldn't put it down. We recently went to Cheese Wheel Pasta on a trip to Ocean City. We got take out and that was perfect because there's not many picnic tables to be able to sit and no indoor space. I got the ragu and it was delicious. Highly recommend. I also tried a bite of the penne alla vodka and it was a little too spicy for me. They were also out of pesto which was a bummer. I came here after a day at the beach when I wanted some pasta. It's a cute little restaurant near the boardwalk. They give free warm bread. It was so soft and delicious. I loved it with the dipping oil. I wanted to keep eating the bread, but had to save room for the pasta. Their pasta is made fresh in-house. I had the cheese wheel pasta and added chicken. The pasta was so good. Next time, I want to try the mushroom alfredo pasta. There are a few metered parking spaces outside next to the church. read more

This review is for the dine-in location at 218 Baltimore Ave. I was craving Italian food, and the idea of fresh pasta made in a cheese wheel sounded amazing. We arrived around 6 PM on a Wednesday, and the place was pretty full. It's a small but nicely decorated spot. Just a heads-up: there aren't any large tables, so they push smaller ones together for bigger groups. The seating along the walls is built-in wooden benches. It works, but it's not the most comfortable. We were a party of three. There were a couple of 2-person tables open, but since one party had just gotten their check, we waited for them to leave instead of making the staff rearrange tables. Once they left, the table was cleaned quickly, and we were seated right away. The staff was very friendly. The menu is small, just two pages for dinner and one for breakfast. They bring a carafe of ice water to the table, which was fine since that's all I wanted. I didn't ask about other drinks, but the only ones listed were coffee options on the breakfast side. They also brought out a bread basket with olive oil and herbs. The oil was a bit bland. A place near my home does a similar thing, but with much more flavor. I assume it comes down to the herbs they use. For dinner, I had the cheese wheel pasta with shrimp, my mom had it with chicken, and my brother went with plain spaghetti and marinara. Food was fast but the chicken seemed to be frozen strips not grilled. The sauce was not very good at all and pasta was all stuck together.

Really enjoyed the food here both for dinner last night and breakfast this morning! The flow of the restaurant layout doesn't allow for a hostess stand and there are 2 entrances so it can be a little confusing for the wait. We had a 20-25ish wait time with the line wrapped around the building but the food was worth the wait! Only a few of the dishes are not made in the cheese wheel, but having tried both those made in the wheel and outside, we enjoyed both! Breakfast is also great (and a much better alternative than eating at the overpriced Dough Roller next door). The toasts are more like paninis but theyre really good!! Service was prompt once we were seated and the place was nearly empty in the morning so seating wasn't an issue at all, but this place does seem understaffed unfortunately! We are vacationing from NJ and were seeking some pasta. We wound up at the Cheese Wheel. The inside space is reminiscent of "fancy pizza place." For starters, we got the bruschetta. That was a delicious slice of bread and fresh tomatoes. Moving on, I got the rigatoni bolognese, my wife got pasta with burrata and my daughter got cheese ravioli. My bolognese was good but it came out cold. The sauce was a little on the thin side but it was tasty. My wife said her pasta was just "okay," and my daughter demolished her ravioli. Cheese Wheel Pasta is a food stand on the OCMD boardwalk. It's a small space that's very popular around mealtimes, so get there early. They only have three dedicated tables, so best to take it to go. So what is it? There's a big cheese wheel (from what I could gather, a pecoromano). All the pastas are placed in the wheel and sauteed in front of you before being prepared in one of a handful of ways. If you like cheese on your pasta, the Cheese Wheel is for you. By preparing it this way, there's extra cheese with every bite. Your choices are alfredo, alla vodka, meat sauce, pesto, or tomato sauce. The menu is small, but I think it works. Base price for each entree is only $9.95, so it's very affordable compared to today's market. So we ordered: Fettucini with alfredo and broccoli ($12.95) Linguini with meat sauce ($14.95) Penne alla Vodka ($9.95) Linguini with tomato sauce and meatballs ($13.95) It was great to share these dishes with everyone in our family and we'll definitely be back here for a reasonably priced unique culinary experience. We found this place while walking on the boardwalk and said we had to go here. My husband loves to get a quick meal on the boardwalk especially on our last night when we have to pack and I take forever. I don't ever want the usual boardwalk foods like pizza burgers and all that stuff. I love pasta and this was quick so we went. I was a little disappointed they were out of broccoli , but we did go kind of late so next time we'll have to get there earlier. I think they were also out of the ravioli. I wanted the chicken Alfredo a little more anyway, but next time I want to try the ravioli. My husband always wants spaghetti and meatballs so he ordered that and enjoyed it. My chicken Alfredo tasted fresh and was very good. We also got a side of focaccia bread. We will be back next year. I would like to see maybe see some new additions for next year, maybe a pesto type sauce or Cacio e Pepe . read more

Went here over the summer while in OCMD. As soon as I saw the concept, I knew my wife would enjoy it. Solid-sized portions of pasta stirred in a Parmigiano wheel. I wanted spaghetti and meatballs, to try the meatballs. Everything was great flavor, quick on the boardwalk, and we ate right out front. A small place that has a lot of people commenting. They did run out of certain dishes by the end of the night. The workers were fantastic, pumping food out, and ensuring a great quality. This place was cute little upscale pizzaria feel. I scoped out the menu and review prior and was excited to try. We got there right before the rush so there was no wait. Surprising because it was the air show Saturday evening . We started with the bread and dipping of course it was delicious only the first basket is complimentary. I got the sausage ala Vodka and added mushrooms. It was a hit. The only con was they did not have any type of soft drink which for me was fine but some in my party would have liked it. Came in and it's such a nice restaurant, the workers smiled and ask if you are dining in our doing carry out. She told us to pick a place to sit then she came over with cups and water for us. We started with warm bread and olive oil with balsamic, it was so good we ordered another one. For our entrees my boyfriend got the chicken parm, they serve the chicken on a separate plate than the noodles which i enjoyed. The chicken was delicious. We are back in OC, and we stopped by here for dinner. This time, I didn't see the spag bol, so I had Penne Alla Vodka with mushrooms, and it was delish! And a big enough portion to share..if someone were inclined to do so..which I was not. I was a little disappointed that they tossed the pasta in a cheese wheel in the kitchen rather than in front of the customer, but not disappointed enough not to go back. The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 was that it seemed only to be a quasi full service restaurant. You got up and got soda/Drinks for yourself. Also (and this is on me), the place was small and there was a long line. My meal was only $10, took only a couple minutes to make, and had a very good flavor! It was definitely good value for money. The meatballs were very high quality with good flavor and the employees gave a lot of information when I asked any questions about the food which was really helpful. I am giving four stars because I have had better pasta. However, it was such great value for money and the pasta with meatballs really hit the spot after a day at the beach. We couldn't skip one of our favorite places to go in Ocean City. We like to do the take out and eat by the ocean. Just as we remembered the place smelled amazing.
