This is still a great hotel but, based on this stay, I'm lowering my rating to a 3-star. The two guys at the front desk when we checked in and they lady working the desk when we checked out we're all great. Professional, personable and efficient. The room was clean and quiet. BUT, and this is becoming more and more of a problem with hotel rooms, it was impossible to get the room dark. There were special blackout shades to keep outside light from interfering but there was a giant (actually it wasn't that big) bright green LED on the thermostat that gave the room a green glow all night. The lady at the front desk at check out said we weren't the first to complain about the green LED. She said that next time we should check with the desk and they'd give us tape to cover it. Misc LED's on the TV, microwave, smoke detectors, etc are making it hard to get a room really dark. Then at breakfast (yeah, I know it's free), they were out of bacon AND their signature cinnamon rolls. I overheard the breakfast hostess telling one guest that "THEY" never gave her enough bacon. Then I overheard her telling another guest that there were no cinnamon rolls because "the truck didn't come yet". This is still a nice hotel and we'll continue to stay here on our way west. It just needs to pay better attention to details, and the breakfast staff needs to be more hospitable and stop blaming "them" and "the truck ".

Home was built in 1899 but somehow doesn't really feel that old and is very quiet and comfortable. We picked the ground floor room because we were traveling with our dog. It was perfect....nice size and its own private bathroom. Nanette is very welcoming and available to answer questions or address any needs you might have. She is also the most delicious cook and I don't say that lightly. We enjoyed two of her breakfasts and both were absolutely delicious! She is certified as a holistic chef so you can feel good that what you are eating is healthy and nutritious. Inn is conveniently located (within walking distance) to the Winston Churchill museum and the brickyard district (downtown area.) If you are looking for a slower paced, relaxing weekend, this is definitely a great choice. Would highly recommend and will stay again. Thanks Nanette!

The bedding was all simply disgusting. The sheets either hadnt been changed or had horrible stains on them. The comforters needed to be replaced as they were very pilly. As were the towels. The chair in our room was broke. Don't try the pool. It is freezing and they must never clean it. The hot tub was under maintenance. Dont take a bath, either. The bottom of the shower was dirty. Another thing, when we first arrived there was urine on the toilet seat. For breakfast the options were danishes, mini muffins, cereal, toast, egg substitute or biscuits and watery gravy.

The owners were doing landscaping and getting the pool ready for summer. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. I live locally so may not need a room again, but if I do I will definitely be going back to Westwoods. I will for sure point them out to visiting friends and family. They even have a little snack bar.

The shower was disgusting. The toilet looked like someone had thrown up in it and didn't flush. The air conditioner wasn't working so they told us just to open the window. No continental breakfast. no amenities , I had to ask for towels . they ran around, like they were all lost . talking with another customer while waiting, who happens to be a nurse it was our conclusion that two of the workers were definitely on something other than high on life. i'm guessing they were workers , kept interrupting the desk clerk who was trying to check in approximately 3 to 4 people waiting. I have never encountered such filthy, dirtiness, ill manner, establishment. I feared staying there, my honey talked me into . Most all motels and hotels were booked that weekend so it wasn't like we could just jump into another one real quick. so I lock the door with a chair under the knob. did not sleep well and finally left very early the morning about 4am. And so the window was open for natural AC. A small space heater was plugged in and sitting on the desk in case heat was necessary. If you like a 1 1/2 inch gap under your doors, so that you can hear everything in the hallway as well as the adjoining room....then you would like this room. I rolled up blankets and stuffed them under the doors. Not to worry about getting the blankets dirty as they had a couple of cigarette burn holes in them. Oh....and just a small thing....a couple of the pillows had minor stains. I used the two that did not....

It's clear the maintenance on this site is negligent, and I have to imagine the cleaning crew can't be thorough considering the carpet and tile aren't even fully laid. Tiles are broken, laid on top of dirt floor, there are holes in the wall, it smells like mildew, lots of unfinished repairs. When my mother got here the toilet was broken, she had to take the lid off and use the chain, the sink temperature was backwards. They said they'd never had any complaints. Based on the conversation I had with them on her behalf, they don't seem interested in listening to or heeding complaints. Disgusting place. If you can't afford the Motel 6 next door, you'd be better off camping than staying here.

We showed up and it was disgusting like most of these reviews say... there was hair in the bed for one, and when we turned the ac/heater on- it smelled like fish. Disgusting. We go to the counter probably 10 minutes in, and ask about canceling at least one of the nights on our two night stay. The front desk employee simply cannot help us (why have an employee that doesn't know anything) she tells us to go online. We have a 30 minutes phone call with whom she told us to call, they were no help. We ended up paying $170 plus a $100 pet deposit (we didn't even stay an hour). We got none of the money back. Nobody could help at all. They told us "the rooms are clean" "we know they're clean, we check them". Obviously not. Ended up leaving even though we couldn't get a dime back for our 20 minute stay. Went to the holiday inn across the street, told them what happened and they said it's very common for people to leave there angry and just end up spending the extra money coming to the holiday inn because they just can't stay in such a dirty place. Don't waste your time or your money, or honestly risk your health.
