Very disappointed with this hotel management. This hotel tried to charge my credit card without my authorization and when my card declined (bc it appeared fraudulant) they cancelled my reservation within hours of my check in. They never tried to reach out to me that they tried to charge my card nor reach out to me telling me that they were going to cancel my reservation. I was left with nowhere to go in a state I've never been. They cancelled on me as I just arrived by plane from the airport and it was raining :( When I asked to speak to the manager because I had nowhere to go, they just hung up on my face :(. I've never seen a hotel manager mistreat a custumor this badly :(. This place needs new management. I don't like to write negative reviews, but the management of this place mistreated me so bad that I need to write this review so they make a change :( read more

Not a fancy hotel by any means. Rooms need updating. That said, it's an affordable hotel with comfortable beds and kind and attentive employees. The restaurant in the lobby area is very affordable! I had a fried shrimp plate and not only was it delicious but it was under ten bucks! I stayed a week and it was busy but quite enjoyable. I will stay here again when I'm in Jackson. Oh my lord. My "buddy" booked this place after a Michigan game go blue! What a dump. I'm glad I have a concealed carry license or I wouldn't have gotten out of the car. Do not leave nothing in back of an uncovered truck, we pulled in at 2:30 a.m and there were very very undesirable people stalking everywhere, this has to be a prison parolee's dumping ground. Took us 30 minutes to empty the bed of the truck into our room, oh we had an audience(s) watching us the entire time. I guarantee the sheets where never cleaned. Bugs, dark spots on the walls that you'd swear was blood or Pooh.. A moth in my buddies room the size of a Black bird . I pretty much slept standing up for 5 hours then got the heck out of there. As another commentator stated I'm still itching (in my head) weeks later. Now I'm left questioning my buddies judgment.. he said he looked at the pictures SMH. read more

Look, I'm not fancy. I don't pay $60/night and then expect 4-star service. I stay at run-down motels all the time, and rarely take the time to write a review. But this place was a real bummer to stay at. The room's carpet was weirdly sticky, very unpleasant to walk around in bare feet. At check in, they requested a $50 CASH deposit, without having mentioned that during the reservation process. When I checked out, I had to wait in the office while they tracked down someone who would look in my room and confirm that I hadn't trashed it before they would give me back my deposit. When I started to count the cash, the manager immediately snapped at me, as if it was unreasonable for me to count my cash. I wouldn't even put the one star if I didn't think I had too. I booked on AGODA (their review is next) and when I walked in the office several people were standing behind the counter eating donuts and chatting. That's fine but after a few mins of standing there I asked if someone could help me. Apparently these weren't all employees but guests accept one who was not at all interested in helping me. Finally she asked for my ID and I thought we were getting somewhere when I noticed the roach on the counter. That was enough for me and I politely excused myself and told her I wouldn't need a room. I made a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time because I had to have surgery on my eye and had to be back to the surgeons office the next morning I had my surgery and got out early so I went to the motel and ask if there was anyway I could check in earlier than 3 o'clock and they said sure as soon as we got a room cleaned I waited outside the hotel all day long the matenence staff got into a huge fight screaming profanity back and forth at each other and almost got into a fist fight before one of the other workers pulled them apart finally at 3:30 after waiting for over 5 hours to get a room Finally ask to cancel my reservation that I had made 2 weeks prior and they still preceded to tell me they didn't have a room ready yet and I had to get mad they finally got me into a room at 3;30 very very bad management I will never stay there again almost the homeless and disrespectful staff read more

It's a decent place to stay with moderate rates. Nice people here and very quiet. Police are here often....The live in quarters are not so nice. They need a lot of work and the hall ways are a bit smelly from animal urine. Other than that the bar is nice good food cheap prices with more than you can eat at once. Pool table and good choice of available music. The lobby is clean but no morning breakfast or coffee. Parking lots are clean ect. This place of business has a lot of family that stay here. read more

Stayed here for a school trip with about ten kids... we pulled in and immediately had the collective thought that "this is where the drug dealers hang out." It looks very creepy at night, not well lit at all. Opened our first room, got hit with the extreme smell of cigar smoke. The floor of the shower was so dirty, my feet were black when I stepped out. Loud music was playing late at night, car alarms going off, and there was a very high (haha) amount of people smoking. I would give this a 0/10 for safety.. we all felt uncomfortable, even the adults. Don't stay here unless you want to be creeped out all night. The pillows smelled really weird too. read more

I'm just passing through and needed a cost effective place for the night. I found it here. This is a small hotel just off Rt 94. Check in was super easy and fast. Really nice desk person. Parking is easy here as well, and very well lit all night long, always a plus. The room was adequate. This is not the Ritz. Beds were comfortable. Linens clean. The bathroom needs a major update though, and the tub did not drain well at all. I think it may have taken all night, and I took a very short shower so I'm not sure what that's about. But the water pressure is good and the hot is hot. Room comes with a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. I did not use any of these, but I'm sure they are fine. The TV is old style, channels are ok, but I could not find NBC or ABC. The TV itself was a little odd, the sound level would go up and down, which was just odd. The difference was not so huge that I had to turn it down, but it was noticeable from one word to the next. There is a small clean pool, with plenty of chairs, sitting and lounging, as well as 4 umbrellas. I was impressed with the pool, the fence around the pool, solid, effective, yet not totally ugly, the chairs etc. Nearby is a large mall with things like Best Buy, Kohls, Target, a few places to eat etc. If you are traveling through and need a easy place to lay your head, this may be it. read more

First thing when I pull up is see a lady passed out with her head on the steering wheel of her car. There were homeless looking people walking around. I refused to exit my vehicle alone. There was a roach behind the TV! The bathroom toilet ran all night long and getting it to flush was hit or miss. The shower/tub was moldy and dirty. The whole room smelled funky. There weren't comforters on the beds either. It was a super thin blanket and a sheet. I barely slept at all & still feel grossed out days later. read more

When we pulled up it was a bit scary..a scrapper truck full of scrap parked in lot...sketchy people walking around...cats in the windows. However the lobby and bar area (part of the main building) looked really nice. I think this (main) building is the best one out of the 3 they have. The room did smell of cigarettes slightly and the hallway of very heavy deoderizer but it was bareable. The room itself looked decent..beds appeared to be clean. The bathroom was a bit gross...not only out dated but lots of hair on floor and tub...which always grosses me out. Breakfast bar had a great variety and was good. They have a pool which may have been fun to explore had it still been open (covered for season). read more

I had been looking for an inexpensive place to stay during my visit to Michigan and decided on the Travelodge in Jackson. Conveniently located right off of I-94, this hotel is a good value. It has the necessary amenities, such as Wi-Fi, a small box style refrigerator and continental breakfast. There's also an outdoor pool, which I didn't swim in because there was a thunderstorm coming, as well as a bar and lounge on site. The front desk staff was courteous and prompt, so I had no issues with checking in or out of my room for the night. The Travelodge is an older motel which definitely shows its age and could use an update. However, that may be a determining factor in why the rooms are reasonably priced. While the linens are clean, they definitely look like they've been used since a bygone era. The furniture and carpet are worn and definitely show its age. The continental breakfast offerings were paltry and the mini muffins tasted stale. In all, the Travelodge is an OK place to stay a night, but they can certainly try to get out of the 1970s. read more

The pictures of this hotel that you'll see online or in brochures are from 10-20 years ago. The hotel front desk and rooms are a much, much more worn version than the images featured. The one plus is the front dek staff and cleaning crew. Front desk person was always personable and helpful and the cleaning staff did a good job in my room. They are up against a lot since it appears the parent company cares nothing about Travelodge. It's in need of 15 years worth of upgrades and renovations although I think their best bet is to tear it down and start over. Even the non-smoking rooms smell like a old smoker's convention has taken place in it since the 1970's and there are numerous holes in the wall, thread-bare carpeting, etc. The rooms come with a microwave, fridge, and TV (pre-flat screen). There are quite a few residents who apparently on fallen on hard times an live at the hotel. I noticed one has a grill set up in the parking lot and he grills almost daily, people bringing lawn or kitchen chairs outside to sit, and/or allow the kids to play on the sidewalk during the day. On different occasions, I saw questionable looking individuals (apparent residents) walking around. It's that type of place but if you're in need of cheap lodging in the area, it will work for overnight although I was there for longer. No one should come here expecting the Marriot, Comfort Inn, or even Super 8 type of ambiance. read more

This hotel is a scam. I paid in full for my room a week in advance. When I arrived at the hotel at 6:10pm, I was told that since I didn't call to tell them prior to 6:00pm, that I still wanted my hotel room, they cancelled my room. And that there would be a $60 cancellation fee. And then I had to pay for the room again ($70) if I still wanted the room. So they were trying to bill me 3 times for the same room. After I refused their attempted scam, it took calling my credit card company to finally end up only paying the initial charge to my card. But then it took 5 trips, with my luggage in tow, back and forth to the check in counter, to get a room key that worked. This check in process took 2.5 hours. Only to find out that once I got into the room, that the tv remote did not work. This hotel is a dump and a scam. Travelodge should remove this building from their corporate ownership, it's a disgrace. read more

Wow, what a dump. Basically a place to keep rain off your head. I saw the Wyndham brand and thought it would be okay. I was wrong. The window shaker AC didn't work and the room was hot. It's cheap & that makes it worth it. Needs an upgrade in the bathroom for sure and the TV is super old,but I was pleasantly surprised that we had a fridge and a microwave. The phone is supposed to be able to call out locally, but it didn't. But the wifi was easy to use. I don't like that we were so close to the strange crowd living in this place full time, but we made the best of that. Avoid at all costs. First the people that stay here are monthly or yearly and no one here cares for newcomers. We had to stay here as a last ditch and the bums at the counter gave our room away and or promised rooms but in the end they got our money and we got a nasty experience and empty promises out of them. Kicked out Hung up on repeatedly robbed of $133.20 with no explanation In regards to Gurvs his staff as well the qualities of safety and service provided. June 1,2021 I checked in about 7pm. Check in went fine. Was handed my room keys and left to my room. I get to what I believe is the room the keys didn't work. Return to the office to be scanned again thinking I had to bed the keys to my cell on the way. Turns out I had been at the wrong room. I apologize and decided I should order from the bar while in the lobby. I go in the bar ask for the same I always do while staying with Travelodge only this time I'm told they don't have the supply's. I also see a friend ordering food not thinking anything of it give my room number to come catch up. Leave bar and proceed to the correct room. Get to my room soon after my friend shows. We sit and are catching up it's about 30 minutes into actually walking in my room. I get a knock on the door. It's Jackson county police demanding I leave my room leave the property and not return. I said may I ask why. The officer said my friend had been in an altercation with someoneat some point and was to leave as well. I said why do I need to go when i just checked in and do I get my money back? Not trying to cause a seen embarrassed when I walked out of the room all the people at my door watching. I was given a recipe saying return of my $1 l00 deposit return but would not be given $133.20 for the jacuzzi room. When I asked to speak with Gurv "general manager" whom is who the frontdesk "management" called about my money. He refused me a conversation. With the police officer at my side this entire time as if I was some criminal. I took a cab to Travelodge so at this point I'm escorted to the street. Was not allowed to call cab and wait safely in the lobby. It's free way on one side of this hotel and the other is a 45mph no sidewalk street. June 2, 2021 The following day I call to try to speak with someone who can one help me with this because I'm still confused why I'm not refunded my money and still not sure why I was kicked out in the first place when I did nothing wrong but catch up with a friend. I had no clue of the the incident that had taken place prior to coming to my room. I speak with Izzie and left a message and contact information. I didn't receive call. June 3,2021 I call again Amanda "management" picks up the phone. I say I need to speak with someone about the matter. She then hangs up on me not one time but 2. The third time I'm then mad but issy or Lizzy picks up says no management is available. Speaks with me in my frustrations but still refusing to give me the number to speak with General manager Gurvander Singh. Now I'm told she passed the massage along but it's not her fault he won't return my call. Robbed of the night I planned. Robbed of my explanation. Robbed of my $133.20 I paid for a room I could not stay in. Left in the curb and find another place available with a jacuzzi. The receipt also said I checked in as 1 guest. I didn't know I would be robbed for having a visitor. Thanks Travelodge by Wyndham I just want my money back. Room was disgusting staff rude and refused to talk. Wash cloth with shit in it when we first entered. We called for someone to clean it up but know one showed so we scooped with a bunch of TP into a trash can that we didn't use. We set it on sink waiting for housecleaning and no one came. Told the desk when we went to get our bills for check out, went back to our rooms and still no one came to clean. Loud music and pot smoke from the people up stairs all night long, got no sleep and called the office many times. MANY! Nothing ever done. Door wouldn't even close or lock in our adjoining room, rubber was damaged and looked like door had been kicked in. Left lights on because roaches would scrounge when turned off. Toilet paper and tissues were not changed when "cleaned", in fact tissue was empty and TO half used and rolled on the floor. Charges were promised to be reversed, and were, but charged on another date with $20 more for the shit covered wash cloth. That was sitting in a sink I had to clean off as well. I should charge fees to the hotel for doing their job. There is proof of all of this. When we complained the first time and wanted to leave, they said it would take 5-7 days for it to be reversed. There was no way we would be able to go somewhere else without that money. The pictures below are just a tiny portion of what we have but it will give you an idea of what you're dealing with. This is a hotel badly in need of updating. It's also a hotel that cuts corners. We checked in and there were signs staying that the whole hotel is non smoking. The smell of stale smoke in the lobby was very strong, same in the building that our room was in. Fortunately or room was pretty good smelling although you could tell it had been a smoking room. We turned down the bed to discover slept-on sheets (they were very wrinkled on one side of the bed. We requested new sheets which were delivered but simply handed to us by a maintenance man, we had to change them. The room itself was ok but there were some places where the wallpaper was stained or coming loose. The bathroom was very dated, the tub still had two handled faucets. Everything worked ok though. There were cigarette burns on the sink. The towels in the bathroom were clean and the bathroom smelled fresh. Price-wise, we got what we paid for. We paid $41 a night which included an online discount. If I had to stay in this area again I wouldn't stay here, too many negatives. There are nicer hotels with better ratings for not that much more. read more

So, the pros are that it is inexpensive, has a pool, and the front desk staff is friendly. The cons are that someone had been smoking meth in my room just prior to my arrival and the lobby and parking lot were full of the possible suspects. I decided to stay here because it was close to the highway and close to shopping. When I arrived I was greeted by Ashley who was working at the front desk. She answered all of my questions and even though I held her up for 5 minutes she was very polite. The staff was very easy to talk to. Why would it even cancel before I had a chance to get there? They turned the computer around to show me very rudely. They said it happened to several people that day. Travelodge is a cheaper style hotel with a pool and bar.. great for truck stops and short term stays.. not one of the better hotels of the area because half the rooms are rented out monthly and all the work staff stays in this hotel.. however the rooms are very clean and the desk staff is very respectful! read more

I needed a cheap place to stay for a week since I was attending an academy in town and this seemed to fit the bill. My expectations were low and wasn't expecting much. From check in to check out and every time in between, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. I have stayed in 5 star hotels before, and this hotel may be listed as a 2 star, but the staff is 5 star all the way. OUTSTANDING!! The rooms may need a little updating, but they have all the essentials. Thank you Travelodge staff for a great experience. read more
