Roxanne is the worst human I've ever encountered horrible attitude horrible service

They need new workers. I have been over charged so much money: she refused to get me my Receipts so that I can take it up to the Banks, and she didn't want ti help and kept saying that was not true as I'm holding the charges in her face. They couldn't even do their job as simply grabbing a towel. They do not keep breakfast up how they are supposed to. I could go on about my horrible experience.

I stayed here when visiting family over Christmas. This was a convenient location, decent accommodation, fair price. The hotel is small and quite a bit older. It seems like it has been renovated lately, but it could use some more upgrades. The heating/cooling system is a wall unit and the room was really warm. The hallways are narrow and the elevator is very small. The building only has three floors, each is a long hallway, with the elevator in the middle. The amenities are decent. There is a small salt water pool and hot tub on the first floor. There is a small marketplace of snacks, drinks, and microwavable food. The free breakfast is quite nice with hot food, waffles, baked goods, cereal, juice, yogurt, coffee and tea. The dresser drawer in our room was broken. There was some rusty parts in the bathroom. The bed isn't super comfortable but not terrible. The sheets and blankets are very thin. This isn't a luxury stay but it's not bad.

Jackson, Michigan is a pleasant little bump in the highway, about an hour west of Detroit along Interstate 94, in between Ann Arbor and Battle Creek. I knew that Jackson was home to the auto parts industry, and most of the steel mills and skilled machine operators in the area are busy providing parts and materials to the big auto manufacturers in Detroit. It turns out that Jackson is also the boyhood home of Tony Dungy, former coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and now NFL football analyst. More importantly, Jackson turns out to be the birthplace of Kelleigh M.'s husband, Patrick. Just imagine the funny messages between her and I when she discovered I was spending a few days in Jackson, MI. :-) I was there to spend time with my client who manufactures steel parts for the auto industry, and they suggested that we stay at the Fairfield Inn, right in the heart of this thriving metropolis of 33,000 people. The hotel is located right off Highway 127, which is about a mile north of Interstate 94, and very easy for us to find. Like most Fairfield Inns this was a 3-story building with plenty of self-parking out front. There were roughly 50 guest rooms plus an indoor heated pool, workout center, business office, and a large lobby area where they served a complimentary breakfast each morning. The rooms and the lobby all have free WiFi, which is a nice touch. Since Fairfield Inns are part of the Marriott family of hotels, I was able to rack up my Marriott Elite points and had a USA Today delivered outside my door each morning. The rooms were surprisingly large and very clean. Mine had two Queen-sized beds, a work desk with a ton of available plugs to re-charge all of my electronics, a nice high def flat-screen TV, and an area with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was a split into a vanity area, and then a toilet / shower room. As with all Marriott's the toiletries were free, abundant, and of nice quality. The breakfast each morning consisted of various hot & cold cereals with apple & orange juice, as well as a selection of breads. Around the corner you had your choice of scrambled eggs or omelets, with sausage or bacon. They also had make-your-own waffles with a mix of toppings. Fresh hot coffee, including flavored coffees, hot tea, and hot cocoa was available, and they encouraged you to fill up your travel mugs and take some with you. All of this was included with the price of your room. Speaking of price, it was just over $100 a night, which seemed high for the area, but the Marriott quality was certainly there.

I stayed at Fairfield Inn over the Thanksgiving week. It was a wonderful stay. The breakfast was the best that I have had at this type of hotel. Laurie the breakfast hostess was very accommodating. It is so good to have non pork and beef choices. The rooms were clean and nice. The desk staff Jackie and Lori were very helpful. We were so pleased that we will have our family reunion again in Jackson. We loved our stay here.

    Dead ants in bed

During my one night stay at the Fairfield Inn hotel in Jackson, MI on 10/23/2017 I encountered dead ants in my bed. No one seemed to know how this occurred and all they could do was change my sheets because the hotel was full. I told the manager and she wasn't apologetic at all all she gave me was $30 off my bill and 3000 points. I am hoping they get that room exterminated or the same will occur.

    cozy bed. Pretty cute

We stayed in an executive suite for 3 days. The room was not cleaned; the bed not made; the bath not cleaned for the entire stay.

I haven't experienced a stay at a hotel this awful in forever…read more When we arrived, the interaction with the man at the counter was awkward. He asked "do you like our hotels?" which felt very strange. He didn't thank us for our loyalty in being a platinum member. I chalked this up to him being new or just awkward. There were people setting up for a large party in the lobby with balloons, crock pots, and aluminum trays full of food. I don't think they were staying in the hotel. My first impression wasn't great, but I still wanted to give the hotel a chance. The layout of the room is awkward. The nightstands are tiny and with the large desk phone, nothing fits on one side of the bed. The drawer is also tiny and filled with a Bible and Book of Mormon so there is no place to put my stuff. There are only two drawers for clothes, six hangers in the closet. The air conditioner wall unit is in the corner under the refrigerator and microwave. It points at the side of the desk so the air just stays in a tiny area. The TV is on a wall parallel with the bed so it's almost impossible to watch from the bed or any other angle. The bathroom has no storage. The water pressure is so low it's almost a trickle. When we arrived, the thermostat was set to heat to 77 degrees. It was 84 degrees outside and humid. The room didn't cool down to 67 degrees until 5am in the morning. The next day I called and talked to a lady at the front desk. I asked if we could change the thermostat and she said no. I asked if they had a fan we could use because it was really warm. She said "no, sorry" and then hung up on me. After staying three nights, no one cleaned our room or changed our towels. On the morning of the fourth day, we asked at the front desk if they could clean the room and the gentleman working at the front desk seemed surprised we wanted it cleaned. He said he would put us down for a cleaning. I didn't know we had to ask for cleanings at hotels now. It's not like they're worried about COVID when no one working here is wearing a mask. When we returned in the evening, the room was still not cleaned. I went to the front desk and another gentleman working said we are scheduled for a cleaning every day. He said he would put a note in to make sure it was cleaned. I don't intend to stay here in the future, and I recommend any travelers to Jackson don't stay at this hotel. They care more about saving money than their guests. Every aspect about this hotel is a cheap as possible. Do not stay here.

Drawers would open when you walk by. The door to the bathroom opened out and hit the bed. The nightstand will tip over if you press on it weird. When we got the room, they never asked us if we wanted the room cleaned. We assumed it was automatic. I guess you have to ask for a full clean or tidy. We asked for it on a Sunday, and housekeeping never came so I had to call the front desk and go down to get towels. There is a complimentary breakfast every day. The food is decent. The woman working the breakfast is very militant. She yelled at me for using glasses from the room for juice even though it wasn't me. And one time she yelled at me when I was the only one there for leaving a paper plate on the counter waiting for my English muffin to toast. One time a family with kids and a pregnant woman came down five minutes before closing and the lady was so rude to them. I can see if she didn't put out more hot food, but most of the stuff is grab and go anyway. The location is awkward especially with all the construction on I-94, but it's a pretty centrally located spot. The road to get to the hotel is terrible.

The first room we were put in had an inch gap between the door and the wall. The stove didn't work, the fridge was unplugged, TV didn't work, the wifi didn't work, the bathroom light switch had no wall plate, the wires were showing. They sent 2 ladies in to fix the stove and TV.. they couldn't and pretty much just left. So we switched rooms, this room was filthy when we opened the door, the fridge was moldy and had standing water in freezer. The TV was stuck on one channel because there was no remote and no buttons on the TV, no chair at the desk, the buttons on the stove were gone. There were linens and trash on the sidewalk outside of multiple rooms. We asked the front desk to please have someone clean the new room and bring a remote while we were gone to our event. We didn't even take an item of ours into this room. The front desk lady said someone would be right there. We left and were gone for 5 hours. When we returned that room was exactly the way it was when we left. I went back to the front desk and told her I was not staying there and I wanted a full refund. Oh they cannot do that because we booked online, so I call Sonesta where we booked through and it took 30 minutes for them to even find our reservation, only to say we will take your complaint and you will get a response with a resolution with 48 hours. That was at 1030pm on Thursday May 21 2026. It is now 1149 am on Tuesday May 26 2026. And still no communication from this "motel". I called Sonesta again this morning to be told that the motels resolution is that they will not issue a refund but offer me a discounted stay... Umm absolutely not. You couldn't pay me to stay at this hell hole. The people smoking dope on the corner and passed out in lawn should have clued me in that this wasn't the place for us. So now I have to wait another 24 to 48 to see if this place will communicate to the additional complaint that I filed this morning. The only resolution is refunding my money, otherwise I will be contacting the BBB, health department, and anyone else I can think of to bring a wrath of fury on this hell hole. I don't even know how it's legal to operate in this condition. So before booking do yourself a favor and review their nice clean and well put together photos online, then please come look at the photos in these reviews to see what you will really be paying for... I am wishing I had done that.
