Pastafina Mineral Wells - Chicken Alfredo was excellent and large portion, very creamy

I just went with my gut on this place and I'm glad I did! We had to pass through Mineral Wells…read moreafter a Rocker B tournament in Graford on a Sunday afternoon, so this was perfect to eat at. We started out with the garlic knots. They are light enough in flavor to add Parmesan or crushed pepper too or enjoy as is. The pepperoni pizza was good. Typically we ask for light marinera sauce on our pizzas but had it how it came. Easy request, we just didn't ask, as it was our first try here. Chicken Fettuccine: We loved how the pasta sauce was creamy, a thicker consistency and the chicken wasn't chunky (sliced thinner) The creamy flavor matched a place we used to have back home but they ended up closing down. I also had a Caesar salad that was a good portion so I ended up sharing it with my husband. Dressing: We are use to the rich anchovy flavor with the dressing that usually comes on those salads but It wasn't a bad flavor, just a lighter taste. Definitely would recommend Pastafina if you are in the area and looking for a new Italian place to try.

We were both pleased with our dishes. The Alfredo with bread was very good. Next time I'll get that sauce. Bought dessert next door. Owned by the same place. Really good for the area.

Or maybe it was just her tummy. Either way, I knew that we were never going to make it to Wichita Falls and pleaded with my wife to find an acceptable alternative. Five minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of an Italian Pizzeria named Benito, deep in the heart of Texas. First impressions were extremely positive. The place was a sort of mix of bar and pizza joint and we were shown to a comfortable dining room and given top-notch service. Complimentary garlic knots with a light, simple crusty bread came a few minutes later, and my starving teenager ordered shrimp fettucini alfredo. I quizzed the waitress to see if she would recommend the chicken parmigiana or the Philly Cheese Steak. She sided with the steak sandwich. My wife and the ten-year-old both got pizzas, which looked and smelled amazing. My sandwich showed up a few moments later, stuffed full of sauteed onion, pepper, and thin slices of steak, topped with melted provolone. The ingredients were fresh and well cooked. But I admit there was something missing in the overall compliment. I would have liked some mayo in there. The sandwich needed the moisture and it would have helped combine the flavors better than just the cheese. I know... I should have asked for some... Why the low rating when the food tasted good? Well, a trip to the restrooms definitely altered my perceptions. Both the men's and women's lavatories were infested with flies. Lots and lots of them. And as we ate, a few of them came out to inspect our lunch. It left a negative impression on what should have been a decent meal.

We really wanted to love this place...but left sorely disappointed and still hungry…read more.. Should've been a clue when we walked in and the booth was filthy and I took my napkin off my appetizer plate and it was covered in a layer of grease. We decided to stay and give it a chance but the Chicken Pasta Primavera I ordered was quite literally chicken noodle soup. There was a puddle of bone broth at the bottom and the noodles were chopped into such short pieces I needed a spoon to eat it. If I was looking for chicken noodle soup I would've probably been okay but chicken primavera is my go-to usually and I've never had one like this:( Service was okay, but the experience as a whole was a major let down.

I ordered the salmon which, when it arrived it was not cooked all the way, and the side of broccoli was hard, look like it hadn't been cooked at all. I also ordered a side of Spinach. It was supposed to be. Sautéed however it was more like that of a spinach salad. I ordered a chicken dish to replace the salmon and it was tough and overcooked. This restaurant is nowhere near as good as Randy's other two locations in town. Disappointing! Our server was polite however the manager never came to our table considering the issues we were having. Won't be back.

Next time we are getting pizza because it looked and smelled so good! The service is great, very fast and polite. Food is very good. Lots of flavor but not too salty. Really enjoyed the salmon piccata special. The buttered noodles that come in the side of meals are good but I do prefer my pasta dishes all sauced up. The limoncello cake was excellent, not too sweet, actually went well with our wine. Now, the ambience is....not ideal. Someone else mentioned it is dated- it's not dingy or anything, it's just dark and has carpet. A lot to be desired as far as decor and curb appeal (typical of WF). Also... I am so over seeing televisions in restaurants. This is not a bar, can we just eat without screens please. Something about the acoustics here is very off because it seems SO loud. One loudish person fills the whole room with noise. And the phone ringing is shrill and super annoying. *Basically don't get a babysitter and come here on a date, like we did.* Everyone had tons of kids. The place was filled with loud families, like every table had 6 kids, it was an unusual amount of children. The wait staff brings their kids to work, like another review mentions. This didn't bother me, just makes it a better spot for bringing your family rather than having a relaxing night out for 2. And they close at 8 on weekends. Promptly. Like, the garbage is taken out and the toilet is scrubbed by 7:57.
