There was a puddle of bone broth at the bottom and the noodles were chopped into such short pieces I needed a spoon to eat it. We visited this restaurant when they opened and it was very disappointing. We decided to revisit thinking that maybe they got their act together. I ordered the salmon which, when it arrived it was not cooked all the way, and the side of broccoli was hard, look like it hadn't been cooked at all. I also ordered a side of Spinach. It was supposed to be. Sautéed however it was more like that of a spinach salad. I ordered a chicken dish to replace the salmon and it was tough and overcooked. Mine and my husbands first time and first impression was okay the 3 hostess upfront didn't really seem very happy to be there and didn't feel very welcomed, we ordered chicken parm and the shrimp fettuccine, and both were not the greatest they were both gummy and the Alfredo sauce was watery, water tasted like it was filtered 5 times and foggy(not because it was cold) left with empty stomachs. waitress was good. read more

Our party of three had a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday night and we were seated early, the dining room was full. By the time we finished at 7:30 it had emptied out. I was just visiting the area and was surprised at the timing of the crowd. The servers were friendly. The food portions were huge. We had veal parmesan, chicken fettuccine Alfredo and tortellini with a side of broccoli. Overall the pasts were fine. Nothing special and certainly not bad. The big hit is the free bread - more like garlic rolls or knots that come before your meal. Ours were fresh out of the oven and were warm and had a slightly yeasty yummy flavor. My mother has an allergy and when the waitress told the chef, the chef told us that my mother can eat a salad. The waitress came back and told us that. The hostess was so rude. The drinks are great, wine and peach blini were stellar. The chicken piccata with subbed out veggies instead of pasta was good but a little salty, the veggies were still a little crunchy but not bad. The house salads were good. The gluten free chicken primavera was good but needed more sauce as it was a bit dry. We took our son and daughter along with their families to Vito's this last week. The place was slammed, but the service was still excellent! Everyone enjoyed everything they ordered and we had plenty left to take home. Just a note, the meatballs, Italian nachos and tortellini are delicious! We really came in to try a potentially new place for pizza in Granbury. I like the name as it reminds me a childhood pizza joint, Vito and Nick's, in Chicago. So this is not a full blown pizza place. They have pizza, but other Italian items too. We were pleased to see lunch specials, of which pizza was one. And while it sounded like it might be enough to share, our server, Kacey, said it probably wouldn't be. We took her word, and I'll probably try it, solo, later. We tend to order calamari when it's available, but after seeing Michael M.'s photo, decided "planks"was not for us (even though he did say it "was delicious"). So in the end, we ordered one cheese pizza, for $17.00 (kinda pricey). It was good. Good enough to order again, save for the price. While on price, we were a bit surprised by all the prices. All rather high, but to be honest, I have not adjusted to post-COVID pricing. I did notice an actual bar in the back of the restaurant. Bottom line: Rating is for service and the pizza. I have consistently enjoyed my pasta, drinks, and service at Vito's, but the atmosphere makes it difficult to come back despite. I think they were going for a refined look with the black and white, but the lighting and blank, mostly un-decorated walls make it feel less sophisticated and more like a jail cell or a Saw movie... Please put some more art on the walls or some light-up signs or some pops of color in there so that I can enjoy my dinner with some inspiring atmosphere! An underwhelming first time which has, most likely, resolved to become my last, and it isn't my last time due to any freak accident that occurs to me but due to the error of negligence in the Vito's 'Italian' kitchen--I'm still deciding between negligence and carelessness, but at the end of the day, they're essentially synonyms, and, too, at the end of the day, the only thing that saved us a bad time was our own creativity which allowed us to discover fun in between the depths of anything, even a subpar meal-service pairing we still had to pay full price for. It took the people in charge a few minutes (eight-to-ten at most) to get everyone situated, and after that, we were seated in a position that wasn't the most suitable (for the restaurant actually, in my opinion, I didn't mind, nor did I think anything of it), being given an arrangement that took up more space than necessary, something that changed with corrections we decided to make ourselves, ultimately condensing the space we took up by means of a parallel measure rather than the odd spreading they had us doing; afterward, we ordered our food and drinks--one of us never received our drink until much later--and we took up about two hours total there, most of which was spent waiting for what we ordered than eating it--and we aren't exactly the quickest eaters. The food was cold upon arrival, none of the cheese was melted, none of the food was seasoned, most of it was soggy (perhaps the food had been done for ages, taking them more time to send it down than to prepare it,) it was as though the cooks relied on the tomato sauce itself to save their recipe: something no proper chef would ever do, at least not a proper chef that champions themself as a *real* cook of Italian cuisine; since I'm on the topic of authentic Italian cuisine, let's talk about the fact this restaurant is the furthest thing from genuine Italian culture: the entire atmosphere was faux exorbitant hole, it was more pretentious than Italian--if they couldn't do it right, at least resort to something like those rustic Mediterranean vibes where everything's composed of wood and stone; all in all, they didn't even play Italian music, nor did they have authentic Italian dishes, which isn't exactly a gripe of mine but an observation I've noticed, so, if you're looking for authentic Italian food in the Hood County area, this isn't the place to do it, matter fact, it doesn't exist even ten miles outside of the circumference of Granbury; the only thing Italian about Vito's is the name itself, something which should change, perhaps it'd make more sense if it were named 'Doug's 'Ghetti.' Just to clear any misconceptions that may arise from my review, as it is highly likely someone might infer incorrectly from what I'm saying: the people in attendance are nice, bottom-line nice, the kind of nice you receive when you're paying, nothing out of the ordinary, nothing short of underwhelming, as nice as plain cream cheese spread on an unseasoned bagle placed before you to stare at like it's plotting against you; but I will say, this doesn't guarantee a great attitude, or a flat one for that matter, as the customers in attendance don't live up to the monotone nature of the waiters and waitresses, they're sneer at you under the assumption you aren't noticing, something which is more funny than upsetting in itself depending on who you are, because, at least it was funny for me. The one reason that kept any of us from truly feeling upset to the nth degree was the fact we didn't pay all that much when it was time to leave, it's relatively economic, but even then is it too much for what you're paying for--just opt for Olive Garden, it isn't too far from here, it'll be worth the cash you drop--and don't go here for any special occasions like we did, or in a bad mood hoping to receive that special kick to inject a few grins into your day, it's ailing stuff. read more

The real star of this review was our server Melissa, without a doubt she made the night, we will be back just to have her again as our server. We ordered the calamari appetizer with marinara sauce which was delicious, I had the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti noodles my wife had chicken rosemary on her pasta and my daughter had tortellini and a cheese sauce, all of them were really well seasoned and prepared, the only downside of the entire night was the temperature of the space which was warm in the back area and the dipping oil, the olive oil was bitter and had they drizzled in some balsamic vinegar in the oil it would have been perfect. read more

Let me start by saying this could evolve into a five star restaurant with just a few improvements. If I could have given 3 1/2 stars for our first visit, I would. Ambiance gets A for effort, but pleeease..Granbury restaurateurs, go to a fine restaurant in Fort Worth or Dallas and see if they have basically surgical room spotlights shining down on the tables and everywhere in the dining area. That does not add any sort of relaxing ambience to the dining experience. Please turn the intensity of the lights down. Again.. please go to a fine dining restaurant in Fort Worth or Dallas and tell me what you hear. Is it clanking of dishes and people talking and kids screaming, babies crying, and kitchen noises, or do you hear some nice appropriate music playing? Turn up the music. Hostesses were sweet and welcoming. Bar was nice. Decent selection of wine. Nice by the bottle prices. Friendly bar tenders. Our table was in the bar area (again lighted well enough to perform surgery at the table). But, if the bar area were two tables with loud toddlers/ babies. I think it would be an improvement not to allow children to dine in the bar. Sometimes people prefer to hear themselves talk. Salad was nothing special. Garlic bread was very tasty, but would've benefited from a garlic or marinara sauce for dipping. Something happened to our entree order and it was 45 minutes from the time we ordered till we got our food. Sever said someone else took it. (Kinda weird that another table had our exact 3 entrees...???) Finally got the food. Manager did come tell us she was sorry. We assumed we might be offered something to make up for it... not at all. We had to ask if they'd provide a dessert to share since our food was "lost" and so long in coming. She said... I'll have to see. Well, we did get one. Tiramisu. STAR OF THE NIGHT! Maybe the best I've ever had. Enough for 2-3 to share. Entrees were ok. Friend said chicken parm was good. Had leftovers to take home. I had grilled chicken in a lemon garlic pasta. Too much lemon flavor. Chicken was undercooked. Husband had ordered lasagne, but after our long wait, they were out. He got something with marinara so we could taste that. It was just ok. We went 5 days after they opened fully expecting to have to show extra grace since they were new, but they clearly have cross-trained well from the sister restaurants in town. Everybody was friendly, calm, and professional even though they were obviously slammed with all the curious locals. The ambiance was fairly energetic with all the people, but otherwise, was decorated simply, but classy. It could be a tad quieter as another reviewer mentioned. This is not hard to do with tapestries and floor coverings, among other things. Most of the menu options are under $20, which is impressive. A couple of steak options in the $30-40 range. Very reasonable. We got the nachos as a starter, which I totally expected to be Tex-Mex inspired. They were very light and generous in chicken, diced Roma tomato, black olives, and cheese, with a few mild jalapenos interspersed. They didn't feel Tex-Mex at all having used wonton chips instead of corn tortilla chips. My wife got the lasagna and I got the veal. Portions were very generous and everything was fresh and flavorful. They told us they make everything in-house, with nothing frozen. We wrapped up with tiramisu and it was light and excellent. This was a much more enjoyable experience than Pastafina and Farina's. Will totally be back! read more

Walking into the entry it is canverness and empty and then we entered the dining room. Got a booth and started with the calamari appetizer, I have to admit I'm a tentacle and tube lover and the calamari here is more steak - the breading was delicious and the marinara dipping was good. I then ordered the chicken parm and my friend had the artichoke angel hair. The pasta was a touch over but not mushy - however my sauce tasted like someone opened a can of tomato paste and tossed everything in it. The breading on the parm was soggy because they put sauce on then melted the cheese and put the chicken in a pile of the tomato paste. The artichoke pasta was better but it was also slightly overcooked and unless you made sure to get a bite with every veg on your fork it was flavorless. We did order cocktails which were delicious but in talking to the bartender we learned the drink descriptions are not accurate - they had to change some of the recipes to make the drinks taste better but ever updated the menu. First time there tonight, great experience! Not very busy for a Saturday which was a bit concerning as we pulled up and parked at the front door, but once we got in we were greeted and seated immediately. Water and drink orders taken quickly. Wife and MIL got chicken Parm, FIL had Skilletini with sausage (only complaint was that it wasn't spicy enough and would have preferred angel hair but no biggie) My grilled chicken was tasty. Good portions (lots of to-go boxes) and free dessert for FIL's birthday. Dipping oil with bread was excellent! Our server, Lainey, was perfectly attentive (didn't hover nor was she too slow at the end which is a pet peeve of mine), cheerful and just a delightful young lady. We'll be back! read more

We really liked it! However, a few things to be noted. Cons: Their Tour of Italy for 2 was $36 but also comes with/side of spaghetti. Otherwise, the portion size of the other items is comparable to Olive Gardens Tour of Italy for 1 at $22. That's a $14 markup for portions that is typically for 1 person. Even if you compare the Tour of Italy for 2 portions to the portion of the other menu item Chicken Parmesan Spaghetti $17 they are comparable but ours was cost twice as much. Next, the Fettuccine Alfredo sauce was very liquified like the pasta wasn't drained before the sauce was added. The sauce didn't coat the noodles like every other Italian restaurant but the flavor profile was on point. The first bite had a strong garlic taste which we liked a lot though hubby is sensitive to garlic so he knew it would hit him later. The Chicken Parmesan was a hair from being on the dry side but then again all restaurants serve a dry Chicken Parm. Now for the Pros: Excellent garlic bread with a very unique shape. The crust was absolutely perfect. Very crusty outside with a soft, warm, inside and brushed with garlic butter. 5 Stars . Both the Tomato Basil Vinaigrette and Feta Vinaigrette Dressings were also very unique to this restaurant. So refreshing to have a new and different dressing option departing from the typical ranch, though that was also available with other selections. The salad was topped with freshly grated cheese with fresh crisp greens and tomatoes, no wilted pieces or edges. 5 Stars Excellent appetizer Meatballs w/Melted Mozzarella w/Red Sauce. Meatballs were great, tasted homemade and when you slice into them the texture was firm and moist not hard or dry and that cheese! The mozzarella was gooey goodness with cheese pull with a thick flavorful red sauce. 5 Stars The lasagna was our favorite along with the appetizer. The lasagna was just...it's just great! Order it you won't be disappointed. 5 Stars Staff has a nice, crisp, clean, professional, appearance, representing and complimenting the visual appeal of the decor and finer dining experience. I liked the uniforms and overall cohesive look of the interior, table settings, and seating. The hostess promptly greets you upon entering and leaving. No staff is ignoring you while on their phone and gossiping with each other like other places. They were attentive to refills and checkout. 5 Stars Overall, we enjoyed our visit. We have been long time customers of Pastafina's which has been the stand alone Italian sit down restaurant serving the entire Granbury maybe even Hood County and although that place has always been a reliable hot spot w/a great owner we were looking forward to trying out Vito's for a new fresh alternative. I definitely recommend eating here. We look forward to trying individual platters next time. We believe in supporting small businesses and think this is a great addition to the area. Just literally double the size of the Tour of Italy 2 even if you have to charge $40 or change the name to just Tour of Italy for 1 at half that price. read more
