Pit does not listen to players or care to give even a nod to customer service. Sat at $25 table for 3 hrs and reminded floor of $15 blackjack table opened to save me a seat. They all said it was no problem until a seat opened and someone else claimed it. Then it was my fault. I'm gonna take my play somewhere it's not my fault, they need to offer more $15 tables and offer more 2/3 payouts on blackjack. Food is terrible here across the venues. No hotel or amenities. I went to this casino as I am a Boyd Oynx member. This casino is more for the low roller players as they hardly have any high limit games and locals go here. Their selection of games are very volatile so that is the game experience I was expecting. I was betting my usual of $5 dollars and not go to crazy other than I did go $10 dollar off of Mustang Money. I had some good wins though I ended up popping all three bags and was better than the one I had at Caesar's palace although I wish the bees would have come out more. I have a drink machine and the place was somewhat crowded as I came in on a Monday. They have restaurants inside, but was planning to eat dinner at Caesar's. The casino is decent size and they have a lot of drink machines. I played for 2 hours and was surprised I did not get destroyed here and had some great wins. I thought I was going to leave in an hour. Would I come back here again, with my wife as those are her type of games she enjoys to play. read more

This review is for the new building. I never been to the old treasure chest casino, so I have nothing to compare it to. The new building is nice and modern and clean. We were able to park easily even on Thanksgiving weekend with the Bayou classic in town. The Casino had a very good selection of slot machines and table games. To say it was crowded is an understatement. There was barely a spot to get in for the table games, and the fire link slot machines were definitely the hot ticket. I was only able to sit down at one machine for a few minutes. They had people playing on the fire link machines for hours. There is a nice sports book/bar towards the back of the casino. Drinks were reasonably priced. read more

I went here with my mom and brother to see what the new casino was like. It's very spacious and clean and very well ventilated. They have a ton of slots machines and plenty table games as well. I decided to try one of the restaurants, the sports bar. I had the pulled pork nachos and a drink. Both were really good and I enjoyed both. I went to the sports bar ... bad service, beer expensive. I order a modelo and the waitresses came back and told me that the beer was warm and told me to order something else.I ordered a blue moon and She brought me the bottle just like that and I said please bring me a tall glass with a piece of orange and she brought me a mug with a piece of orange inside. Just went to the new Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner. While the game floor had new machines and everyone had plenty space .... Don't recommend the restaurants. They have ONE kitchen crew serving all 4 restaurants. It is ridiculous. There is a 25 minute minimum waitlist for even the deli. That's because once you get seated and give your food order, it goin the order pool to be prepared. It was over 45 minutes from the time our order was taken and then brought to the table. Absolutely no urgency. This is really not a good business plan. While patrons could be on the casino floor, they are sitting in the restaurant waiting for food. Not smart. Was sitting at a slot. Ordered a cup of coffee from the runner. After 30 minutes she came by asking if I would like to order a drink. I reminded her of the coffee I had ordered. Oh, she forgot! Then, if you are lucky enough to have a machine ticket to redeem, forget about it. EVERY redemption machine was out of order. Tell someone, they don't care. Will not be going back. The cigarette smoke is the first smell that hits you when you walk in. Played video poker and was NEVER approached with a drink offer so I went to the soda fountain . We took a Lyft from downtown NOLA (about 30 minutes drive) to visit the casino -- truthfully, because we were craving for seafood and not because we felt like gambling. There was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. We were probably at the front paying within 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night so it was a packed house. My rating is declared for the taste of the food. It was above average for a buffet and there were a lot of seafood options. Crablegs were offered at an abundance, and they weren't bland. The dessert section was plentiful offering several cake and pie selections, and even creme brûlée! The staff were not as friendly, but that could have been attributed to how busy it was. read more

It is awful!! They want to get back the $100 million they spent building it any way they can. I put a $25.50 ticket in the cashing machine and got back only $25, not even a ticket for the 0.50. I told 2 of the ladies in green and was directed to the cage. At the cage the ladies called the cage manager who tells me, they will call security to look at the video. I could not believe it. At the old treasure chest it happened once in the thousands of times I was in there and was simply given my 0.35 and went on my merry way. I felt like they were treating me like a thief. The only reason I wanted the 0.50 was because if I took 0.50 from them I would be arrested, but not if they take it from me, and it was MY money. Totally NO respect for a handicapped paraplegic woman in a wheelchair. She was harassed from the parking lot to the slot machines. First, there was no van accessible handicap parking. We drove around for a while trying to find a parking spot. We finally asked Valet if we could pay for her to park her handicap accessible van in valet due to no handicap spots or even a regular parking spot available. We were denied the valet parking. A lady leaving the casino told us she was leaving and was parked in a handicap parking. She said come follow me. My daughter got out of the van and walked following the lady to her spot as my sister drove her van. A gentleman proceeds to drive around my Sister's van and blocks the lady in. She could not leave out of her parking spot. He wanted to make sure that he got the parking spot other than my Sister in a handicapped van. The lady that told us to follow her and was blocked in by this gentleman (actually he was NO gentleman at all). She asked one of the workers from the transit vans to get security. A Man comes from the casino area and gives the lady's spot to the gentleman that drove around my sister's van blocking her and the lady trying to leave. The casino management ( I assume he's over security) proceeded to tell us that we had to wait in a line for parking. We had NO idea what he was talking about. There is NO sign in the parking area that states to park in a designated line to wait for parking?!?! Take note that this man can physically WALK! My sister is a paraplegic in a wheelchair and drives herself in her handicap van by rolling her wheelchair under the steering wheel. We tried explaining this to the security guy. He said that he didn't care. We even offered to pay for this gentleman to Valet park and he refused. He did have a disabled veteran's license plate on the car he was driving. Who knows if he's even a disabled veteran or if that was even his car he was driving. His actions were clearly a disgrace to Disabled Veterans! This gentleman gets in a screaming match with the lady that was allowing us to take her handicap spot. He proceeds to call my daughter a "CRACKER ". She was appalled. Never in her 30 years has she been called a "CRACKER ". I have a video of the parking lot incident. Once we get inside the Treasure Chest Casino. My sister and daughter play on the tables for a while. We were getting ready to leave and stopped to play some slots. My daughter and sister were playing the FIRE PHOENIX slot game together as it is hard for my sister to reach some of the slot machines due to her wheelchair which she can NOT stand and transfer into a chair at the designated machine. They were both putting money into the machine playing together. The same guy from Security came out of nowhere and told my sister that she has to move because she was in the way blocking the aisle. There was an empty scooter just sitting there with no one in it across the aisle from her. The Security guy came with a few other guys and when he told my sister that she was going to have to move but made NO attempt to ask or even acknowledge the empty scooter sitting there close to my sister's wheelchair. I do have a picture of the scooter sitting there empty with the security management guys we were asked to move. My sister explained to them that she was playing the Fire Phoenix machine together with my daughter. Again, he did not care. We have been going to the Treasure Chest for many years and never had any kind of problem there until this Friday, April 26th. We have never felt targeted, harassed, threatened, disrespected or discriminated against until this Friday on April 26th in Metairie, La. With regrets, I'm sorry to say that we will NOT be going back to the Treasure Chest giving them our money any longer. I will preface this by saying I'm not a casino type of person, but my friend wanted to check it out and I'm a team player so yeah. It was within walking distance of our hotel and since we were nearby at the park we just decided to stop in. The line for valet was crazy being it was Saturday night. The riverboat looks nice and all lit up from the outside at night. The boat has three floors. The bottom two, where the card games were located, were smoking areas. The top floor were all slots and smoke-free. Even though I am a person who has a very low tolerance for cigarette smoke, I feel with the low ceilings, dingy carpets, and tight quarters, this place would be suffocating even for someone more tolerable. My poor lungs. The machines looked outdated and so did the decor. I'm assuming they are trying to maintain that vintage look so if you're into that, you may appreciate it. If you're into more updated games and a modern establishment, this is not the place. The dealers were not personable as I've seen at other casinos. The best thing about this casino is the buffet. The chefs really know how to throw down good delicious southern soul food with all the seasonings and spices that their families taught them back when they were children. I got the opportunity to speak with the chef and thanked him for preparing such a meal that was created by the southern queens of the Deep South. My favorite thing at the buffet line was the fried fish, shrimp, cheesecake, mashed potatoes, sweet soft bread, oh my, it was all melting in my mouth! No over salted food nor what those people talk about bland food. Oh and get this the dining hall is so nice and elegant, so you know you are getting a meaningful meal. I really have not actually sat down and played inside a casino in 12 years so I was a little nervous about stepping into this one. I came here because I heard they had a buffet and did not feel like the golden corral dump down the road. You have two options to park, valet of course which I barely saw a sign of $5 and the self parking which is about a 30 second drive or about 1000 feet away from the actual door. Shuttle is constant here so you can do what I did and take the free shuttle in. The driver I had coming in and leaving was "DC" as is a very cordial driver, I did not see a tip jar but wanted to tip him. Upon entrance you will see a lot of golden or yellow interior aspects and accents. Visiting here on a Monday at noon before the gamer rush was a pleasant experience but on the drawback it's a little hard to get in the mood to play roullete or black jack when there aren't that many or nobody at the table. I found ventured around and found games on two levels but did not notice too much of a difference on my untrained eyes. I did however realize that my favorite games of roullete and black jack were downstairs/1st floor. I quickly donated $60 "For the cause"....oh yea, now I remember why I stopped going hard in casinos in 2001. Everybody that I came into contact with or ear shots distance had a good attitude, no "Oh I hate being here" faces and such, but it is still early in the day so I can't judge what happens in a few hours later. Who the heck goes to casinos mostly for the food? I did and I can tell you that if you are a fan of Golden Coral, then here is an upgrade 3 fold. All of the staff were courteous, plates taken away immediately when you get up and well lit so you can see what you are eating. It was lunch time about noon and I was thinking there was going to be a mad house scene but I forgot that people don't start rolling in till after work. The server told me at about 1 pm things get busy. The food, everything was hot. I did not want to feel scrutinized by taking pictures of the buffet like I usually do since it is a casino but the pics I have taken are off the plates I ate. There really is a wide variety for only around $14 and the drink is included. The great finisher besides the nice selection of desserts was the multi hot beverage drink machine. You can have anything from hot chocolate, mocha, coffee to expresso....included.Wow, in fact while typing this review up I strongly feel like getting up and doing that again but time ran out for me, maybe tomorrow. I am going to type what I remembered being on the buffet that day so here it goes: Carved ham, some kind of beef, broccoli, cauliflower,white rice, mashed potatoes, sausage and chicken gumbo, shrimp etouiffe, mussels, salad bar, cornbread stuffing (was too wet for my preference), fried chicken, more white rice, liver and gravy, cranberry sauce, waffle type fries, brussel sprouts, rolls, cute cantalupe, fried catfish, cole slaw, frog legs (eww), pasta and spaghetti sauce, baked potatoes, insert pan of cheese sauce, redbeans and rice, lots of white rice, chicken lips, corned cob, sauer kraut, bratwurst, link sausage, and still more white rice, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, 3.14,bread pudding, jello, cookies and probably some hideous creating in the back a white rice dessert. Clientel here, I'm 44 and still felt like I was the baby here, I mean not too many people walking around here that didn't have a lot of grey hair but nothing is wrong with that, I just remember back in my hard days when "30" was the average. Still, the seniors were nice here, nobody beat me with a cane. Overall I had a good experience and being a person from out of town and still after four months not finding even a friend to have a beer with made me feel comfortable here that I have a new place I can hang around besides a mall. Oh, and something that threw me for a curve but like a car rental company, if you try to pay with a credit/debit card, make sure the card matches your driver license verbatim or you most likely will NOT be able to useit. read more

My review is based on my experience at the table (BJ) and overall gambling area. It's pretty small, but they packed a lot inside a boat. I give credit for that. There were $5 min table, but it was full. It seems 6deck non constant shuffle for BJ table, so you can count a bit. Most players knew how to play, and all the dealers I watched wanted people to win. There seems no strict rules on bet increase, which is always a good thing. Overall the place was packed, being Saturday night around 11, but 2 decks of table areas for roulette, craps, and other games at one or two tables each. I was surprised that it closes on midnight? Didn't stay enough to find out as the table turned cold. For the buffet, a little high priced I thought so didn't actually tried it. $25 to $35 for crab legs. I go to Vegas a lot, so not too crazy on small buffets. Overall my experience was not bad. Harrah's by the French Quarters is more like Las Vegas casino than this one, but free parking. read more

I wish there was a "half" button because as a buffet, I can't really justify giving anything much higher than a four, but as a casino buffet, this is better than a three. Regardless, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which was a quick walk away, although a shuttle is readily available. Let me just say there is NOTHING close by, so the casino was our only real choice for meals since we didn't have our own transportation. We ate there for three days including a Sunday brunch. The brunch was very good. Constant refills on champagne and mimosas with a pretty good selection of foods. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried shrimp and fried fish. The carved ham and breakfast foods were good as well. I ate a salad daily, and the toppings were always fresh and crisp. On subsequent days I tried a varied selection of entrees and sides, and I can't really complain too much about the food. Yes, standards are a little lower given that this is a buffet, but we were full and happy, the service was wonderful with great waitstaff, and the ambience... well, it's a casino buffet. Plus, their bread pudding with sauce was excellent...! Especially with Dreyer's soft serve ice cream on the side. As for the casino, it's got a good mix of penny slots and the dealers at the Texas Hold Em table were helpful and friendly. The circulating waitresses on the first night were kind of slow around the gaming tables on the first floor, but there weren't any problems on subsequent nights, nor on the second floor gaming tables. Yes, the first two floors are smoky, but it's a casino and there's no smoking ban. So there's a third floor option for non-smokers. read more

It is a pretty big boat with three levels (gaming area on each), buffet, and a few bar areas. The view of the Ponchatrain was nice too. They had more games than I expected for a boat, even some of the old Wheel of Fortune games that I can't find anymore on the strip in Las Vegas. There were a few table games as well with low minimums starting at $5. We stayed at a hotel across the street that is associated with this casino for business from 8/12- 8/15 and were told our rooms would be comped with enough play! Now me and my husband are BIG players not your 50 cent a roll players. We played every night after work and one whole day and night on one occasion. When we checked out we were given a receipt stating our rooms were payed for and shows a 0 balance. See receipt in photo Fast forward TWO WEEKS later and without anyone calling or emailing NADA we look on our bank account and there are two hits for $493.36!!! Almost $900!!! So we call The hotel and speak with a woman who says we have to call and speak to the manager the next morning. We call back the next morning and speak with the manager and she obviously knew in advance who I was and what I was calling about because as soon as I opened my mouth to speak she started in on me how there was nothing they could do. I told her I had a receipt showing a credit and zero balance and she said that did not matter!!! So we call the casino and speak with several people in several different departments and no one can tell us anything. My husband finally gets hold of the casino host JACK JODON and he tells us that we did not contact him before we left!?? Now we play at casinos all over the United States and not once have we had to contact the host for them to do their job! PLUS we had a receipt showing a zero balance so we thought it had been taken care of! So Jack tells my husband he will have to take a look at it but it's really hard to reverse the charges!!?? Your staff forced us to sit in a small 2 top table when there were many open 4 tops available. The reason we don't like the small tables is the lack of space. You squeeze those tables closer together and you have to deal with other people bumping into you. Stuff getting knocked off the table.
