I have been to the Casino four times in past several weeks. I have played close to $700.00 in the slot machines winning and losing some money. My player card has not accumulated any free play. Went there on my birthday and got a Happy Birthday on the card screen but did not get any free play. The wait staff is sporadic when coming around for drinks. I frequent the Casinos in Mississippi; Hollywood, Hard Rock, Island View and they have much more to offer when it comes to spending my money. read more

I have lived one mile away from this casino, since the day it opened way back in 1994. For about 10 years it was nice and well kept, but the last 15 years it has gone down hill! Most of the slot machines are old and outdated, and the place needs serious renovations. I play on the third floor which is non smoking, and I have had machines malfunction many times when playing! One machine messed me over so bad during the bonus mode, I had to file a complaint with the gaming commission! Then when they went to check the machine, they could not get the history from it. It took so long for the slot attendant to check my malfunctioning machine, that I asked one of their employees if I could play the machine until the slot tech arrived. I was told sure and that it would not effect the outcome if I did. I was bored waiting for the slot tech to arrive! I played it like maybe 30 spins, then finally the slot tech arrived and opens the machine up to check the history. The slot tech tell me that she cannot see the history, because the machine is older and it only goes back 25 spins in it's history! So if their employee would have told me that, then I would not have continued playing it. This occurred on the 3rd floor, slot machine number 245161101. This machine now has a jackpot of over 10,000 dollars and you can put a hundred dollars in it, and you are lucky if it goes into the bonus one time! It has been taking in money for many years now, and never pays out or hits the jackpot! The machine is probably about as old as the casino, like many of their other machines in this outdated casino! They won't even paint the outside of boat, it looks horrible because of many years of sun fading! The sun has faded the paint so bad it is not it's original colors anymore! The outside is not upkept properly and neither is the inside! They do a nice job with landscaping, I guess that is to distract you from the faded paint on the boat. I was very upset because I had a chance in the bonus to win several thousand dollars, but the malfunctioning machine cheated me! The staff offered me nothing for what occurred! Not even a buffet, etc! So I filed a complaint with the gaming commission. This incident occurred on June 16, 2018 at approximately 5:50 p.m. I received nothing, but that is OK, because now Boomtown gets my business, and they have a much better buffet with newer and better slot machines! I have seen many people Win at Boomtown, but rarely at Treasure Chest! Ask the locals, they know that you can't win anything at the Treasure Chest casino! I ended up sending a certified letter to the management at the Treasure Chest casino. I explained what happened and they completely ignored my letter and offer to resolve the matter. No sorry you were screwed over, nothing! Since they obviously do not care about their guests, I rarely go to this casino anymore! In fact I drive all the way to the west bank of New Orleans and go to the Boomtown Casino. They are so kind there and they treat you like a family member! The buffet is always awesome there! And you get much better comps at the Boomtown Casino! It is a waste of time to use a card at the Treasure Chest casino! Many years ago they would take care of you, but now there comps are basically not worth sticking your card in the machine for! Now the buffet at the Treasure Chest is fairly good, but way over priced! Example: Right now crab legs night is 34.99. They don't even tell you what type of crab legs they serve you. Boomtown Casino on the west bank of New Orleans is a better buffet and they treat you so nice there! Harrah's in New Orleans is OK, but their buffet is over priced also. But they are located in the CBD of New Orleans, so that is expected I suppose. But Harrah's does have a very nice casino area, if you are staying in the CBD area of New Orleans. If you are just looking for a nice casino with decent buffet prices, I suggest you stay on the Mississippi gulf coast. The Hard Rock Biloxi, is very nice with a great buffet and beautiful pool, etc. The buffet prices in the Biloxi and Gulfport area are much more reasonable because of the competition there! Right now there is a great deal going on at the Silver Slipper casino in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. And they have an awesome buffet also! And they clearly tell you what is on their buffet, including what type of crab legs you will get! Right now on their buffet they are serving Dungeness Crabs, Snow Crabs, Jonah Crabs and Jumbo Shrimp Nightly! And if you go to their night buffet Monday-Wednesday between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. and use your players card, the buffet is half price! The players card is of course free and you can get one upon arrival at the casino. If you use your card on those nights, you can get the buffet mentioned above for only 17.50 per person. And at Silver Slipper you are getting all you can eat Dungeness Crabs, Snow Crabs, Jonah Crabs and Jumbo Shrimp Nightly! In my opinion AVOID the Treasure Chest Casino! read more

I thought it would be kind of neat to gamble on a river boat but the smoke is terrible and it's really old and run down. The buffet was over priced but it did have a nice view of the lake and lots of parking. The nicest thing is it's right next to a really nice park so I left and checked out the park. read more

During a recent trip to the Gulf Coast, we flew into New Orleans and made the drive into Mississippi. Before we left the State of Louisiana, we stopped by this casino in Kenner. It's near the airport, so it was convenient for us. It's been over 10 yrs since I've been here....and from the looks of it, they haven't replaced the carpet or painted the casino. It was dirty and smokey. A far cry from the bustling riverboat I remember in the late 90's and early 00's. This is one of the all time worst casinos and draws a crowd of people that look like they are in terrible physical shape and might drop dead at any given moment. The cliche of the person with an oxygen tank still smoking their cancer sticks is easily found here. The place is very smokey and has an air of despair and depression about it. We had a good time at the Casino. Came for the Sugar Bowl and spent an hour here. I liked the old school slot machines that we played. Didn't win anything, but it was entertainment. Downside: Maybe train the Player's club employees, they weren't friendly at all. Also, my friends are from New Mexico and they were treated like they were from Mexico. First let me say this that there are some awesome employees at the treasure chest so my comment is only directed to the ones that truly need another job bc they certainly do not belong at the treasure chest...most of the time you can not get a drink unless u go personally to the bar or hunt your server down. Which personally i could care less for a drink but I've witnessed folks complaining and i too had to go to the bar for a drink plenty if times that i had visit the treasure chest....then they close at 2 am so when u get off work n think you have an hour to play guess again these people throw you off the slots no matter how much u lost 15mins til 2am i.mean scream at you...I was in a bonus and 4 others where playing around me and this slot attendant yelled across the aslie with a nasty tone"Mame cash out now!" There are so many reasons not to go. But for now, let's just concentrate on the buffet: The food is for people who think that Waffle House is too fancy. Who on their staff thought that chicken fried steak should be served without sausage gravy (or any kind for that matter) is beyond me. And the gumbo? Wow this place was scary. As you walk up to this place you see this charming riverboat that seems like it's right outta huckleberry fin. But you know what they say never judge a book by its cover because this place was disgusting. When your 25 feet away you can smell the cigarette smoke that billows outside covering you and your party in that lovely tobacco smell that just gives you an instant headache. The games are cheap which seems okay but the element your mingling with look like they are going to rob you if you win anything.....the 3rd floor is non smoking but there are no table games. This has got to be THE most outdated casino facility on the Gulf Coast. Even in comparison to some of Boyd's other facilities in Louisiana (Delta Downs and Amelia Belle), this has got to be the worst. What's sad is the potential that this property has being the only boat on Lake Pontchartrain. The surrounding property is the only reason they get two stars. Their parking and shuttle service is atrocious. There isn't any parking near the casino and they charge for vallet if you don't want to wait for the shuttles or walk half a mile (or handicapped which seems to be their target demographic). This is especially bad when it's really hot or cold outside. When you walk in you'll feel quite claustrophobic and are hit with the smell of cigarette smoke. Upstairs there is an overpriced buffet with substandard food and only Pepsi products being served. Too cheap to even brew their own tea. Fair warning, don't shell out the money they charge for the seafood nights. You will be disappointed with overcooked crab legs that are impossible to peel and seafood that taste freezer burnt and frozen. Don't even get me started on the stuff they call turtle soup. As for their gaming facilities, also very outdated. The first two floors are smoking with the 3rd floor (the Texas Deck) being smoke free. The first two decks are so cramped and smokey, even a smoker will need some fresh air. Unfortunatly for the non-smokers out there, only the first deck has table games until after dark and sometimes not at all on slower days. The slot machines are pretty old too and most of the porgressive/newer model slots are only found in the smoking areas. Forget about getting a drink within the first 30 minutes of sitting down too. Oh, and be sure to be prepared to wait atleast that long to deal with promotions or players card's, as they only have the players services on the first deck open. Even when they have huge promotions and long lines, the main deck is the only counter open. Bring your money to another facility, because this one is subpar and you'll spend more time waiting in lines then playing your favorite games of chance. read more

Excellent buffet! Great selection, food was good, and didn't run out of anything without quickly adding more. Ate there twice, once for lunch and once for Friday night sea food. Oh man..... Let's start of by prefacing that I only ate here at their buffet because I got a comp for one free buffet. So did my boyfriend. So we decided to go on seafood night! Good idea right? The crawfish were soggy and rubbery - results of frozen and thawed out and reboiled I'm assuming. The crab legs were okay size but they were not good. It was just...idk. I didn't think you could screw up crab legs. The "chargrilled" oysters were 70 percent minced garlic with 20 percent butter and 10 percent oyster. You think I'm exaggerating but I'm not. Okay, maybe a little. The mashed potatoes were clearly powdered mashed potatoes, but these were the most watery potatoes. The same goes for the Mac and cheese. I usually like Mac and cheese but this was macaroni noodles drenched in what I can only explain as cheese "water". The prime rib tasted like really dry pork. Overall I should give it one star...but I'll give it two because I really liked the cookies. They were soft without being crumbly -- my favorite. Besides the fact that I pretty much tripled my money every time I gambled, I'd really watch out if you gamble here, ESPECIALLY if you play at the tables. I usually play blackjack, but my brother decided he'd teach me how to play craps. The first night I went, I really couldn't watch for things that the dealers were doing wrong, since I was still learning. Second night, my brother and I decided to go to the craps table upstairs. We kind of like to watch the players and the dealers before we jump in. I felt a little strange about this table so I just watched my brother. There was one dealer who I noticed was completely flirting with a lady who was with her husband and son at the table. Due to their loud and obnoxious behavior, I could understand why the dealer would want to not pay attention to other peoples' bets. He straight up told my brother that he had zero bets on the table, when in fact he had bets on the pass and 6. We pretty much fought with them to get his head straight. Poorly managed and staff that talk about patrons like they are pieces of meat or dogs behind their backs. Question yourself, why would a casino need 3 different dice supply companies? They only have 3 craps tables! Watch and make sure that the dice are stamped with the Treasure Chest logo on them! For 3 months, the dice had not had them, until I got the gaming commission involved, then they banned me permanently from their facility, for which, I am thankful. I used to eat at the buffet regularly years ago until the food declined so dramatically. A friend wanted to eat the buffet on Christmas so we went. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the food. It was an exceptional value too. I decided to try it for dinner tonight. I dropped 21 dollars and the food was, once again, sub-standard at best. It was 7 pm so I figured it was a good time to go as far as being fresh and stocked. Not what I found. Lots of things have been under the heat lamps for a while. One bright spot was the cornbread dressing which was probably leftovers from Christmas. Bottom line, not impressed. I have been here a few times now, figured it was time to leave a review. This is for the casino. With casinos, I care about one thing, getting the most fun possible out of table games. How I can achieve that is with a $5 craps table. The Harrah's in New Orleans and pretty much anywhere in Lake Charles are all $15 limits or higher, so this casino will let your money go a ton further. A group of 5 of us went here over Memorial Day weekend. We found a table with a whole side open so we could all play $5 craps. We also had an unusually lucky day, with a friend of ours hitting an ALL bet, so we all came away winners. The waitresses were also prompt with drinks, we were never without a beer, drinking several in the couple hours we were there. Is this the cleanest, brightest casino you can visit, absolutely not. But a casino has to pay for that flash somehow, and that's with high table limits to burn through your money faster. We went here just to eat dinner. The shuttle from the Hilton was helpful for some in our party. We didn't wait long in line, but took a few minutes to be given a table to sit the seven of us. The view is lovely over the lake and with the sunset. The drink orders were done easily and there are many choices. The waitress kept bringing new drink glasses as the last one got below half full. The actual food left much to be desired overall. The sides were overcooked or lacked flavor. The chicken and fried fish were overcooked as well. The sliced beef was a little dry and no au jus was offered. The foods that were enjoyed were the crab legs, sliced turkey, buttery cooked carrots, and salad freshness.
