We just completed a very big job with treasure moving company. We moved from 3200 plus square feet home about 10 minutes away. We use the company for packing and moving services. Their price was fair and everyone worked extremely hard. I would have taken weeks to complete what they did in two days. Best of all they stayed to the quote price they gave a minimum and a maximum and came up in the middle! The only words of caution I would give to you are to expect a staff with only one or two native English speakers . The other guys are working extremely hard to please and take feedback very well, though. you may need to be clear and demonstrate or write out how you would like the box labeled for them. I felt like they did their best to respect our home, not tracking too much dirt. They also ensured that they missed nothing in our previous home packing even the tiniest of things. When they ran out of packing supplies, they called their supervisor who came by with more boxes. We paid additional to have our treadmill moved, and that wentoff flawlessly. They built all furniture that was taken apart, and I can't think of any damage we found. I would recommend treasure moving to anyone I knew. Although my movers were super nice, i strongly advise against using this company. I was very misled when receiving my quote compared to how service actually happened; an act of G-d happened during my actual move, which I understand is out of their control, but despite this causing an hour or two extra, no discounts were provided at the end of the day; and they did not treat my boxes or furniture with care--to the point that I even had to help them reassemble my bookshelf. Although the best prices in the area, it's for good reason. MISLEADING CHARGES: I received an email with a list of prices for moving blankets and saran wrapping, but because other moving companies include those things at no extra charge, I called to confirm pricing. The person I spoke with explained that moving blankets and things only incur a charge if you want to buy them, which happens when people are moving their items into a storage unit. Instead, the movers showed up the day of and informed me blankets and Saran wrapping would cost money, and they charged me for packing tape despite me offering for them to use my packing tape that I had left over. NO MAKE UPS FOR ISSUES: Upon arrival, they warned me that their truck's transmission died, but not to worry because their boss was on the way with a new truck. Great. No problem. 2 hours later, no truck. They moved my items out of my unit and left them in the parking lot. The new truck finally arrived and their boss helped load my things, which I appreciate, but it turns out they were just haphazardly throwing things in the truck in their rush, which I will discuss next. Additionally, their significant other also arrived--I assume to drive one of them back--and she became extremely ill during my move. I have an immense amount of empathy for that, but this caused my move to be even further delayed. Though the first truck's transmission failing and illness are outside of the company's control, I absolutely should not have been charged for the extra 1-2 hours that these events incurred. My apartment was fully packed and ready to go for them. And, they were in such a rush, that I had to pack some things in my SUV for them. The manager was there at the end of the move and absolutely could have done something for the bill. DAMAGES: My wardrobe boxes were decimated in this move. What is the point in getting expensive boxes and packing efficiently if things are just going to be thrown around? One of my sturdy bookshelves had a screw fall out, and I was blamed for that--as opposed to them clearly stacking heavy items on that bookshelf, per the many scratches now on the top shelf. Not only did I have to help them figure out where and how the screw fit in, they didn't even bring in tools to take apart things like my bed, or fix this bookshelf. Lastly, my media station is now holding on by a thread, with the side panel's screws so knocked astray, chunks of wood are missing, cause the side to pop out randomly and drop the shelf as a result. The movers were incredibly nice and I have a lot of empathy for the truck breaking down and significant other being sick. But at the end of the day, my wallet and belongings should not have been punished for that. read more

These guys were professional and truly cared for our things and our brand new home. What we had packed they wrapped in plastic wrap to protect everything, and the only thing I lost was the wheel off my cheap Amazon Basics office chair. They were also very organized, not wasting any time and keeping things moving. They had 3 flights of stairs to navigate to carry some items to the top floor, and my carpet and walls didn't see any damage. They moved my stuff for a reasonable price, but a fair amount of scrapes and other minor damage. Assistant movers (limited english) were largely unsupervised and didn't follow directions about where to put things, and forced stuff together when they couldn't figure out how to reassemble it. Office person gave me a quote based on my email description, and then retracted the quote shortly before the move claiming I had said everything would be packed. We had treasure movers move and pack us. I did a video walk through same day as my quote request and received a quote a few days later. I didn't much compare it to other rates because we were more concerned about quality than cost. The quality was high. Six men worked tirelessly to get us packed and moved, only taking a short 20 min break for lunch. They were extremely careful with our furniture and it appears everything arrived undamaged, although we are still unpacking. They worked well together and communicated well with us, and they were very careful with our items. A couple notes to consider when hiring treasure moving: their contract is a little different than the usual movers - they charge a fee for changing the date of the move or cancelling after booking. We had to move our date early on (3 days after booking) and were told we would be charged. We ended up working it out with the company to get the fee waived but it's helpful to be aware of the policy. Their contract also disclaims liability for causing damage to your home during the move. They will still work with you to make things right but it is something to be aware of. Finally, I would take items off the wall yourself to speed up the process. We had discussed this with the movers in advance but I don't think it was clear the extent of the items that needed to be taken down off the walls and it seemed to slow down and extend the time of the move. read more

During my planning to move my parents from Potomac, MD to McLean, VA. Treasure moving company responded to my quote request within 30 minutes. The pricing was the best among all the quotes requested. Anna was also available for a direct phone call to answer my specific questions. After awarding the move to Treasure Moving Company, we agreed to a move date and time. On the move day, I was contacted in advance by Dan, the Team Leader for the moving crew. They showed up on time and did a walk through to assess the items to be moved that day - boxes and furniture. I could not be more happy with the outstanding job Dan, Jesus and Victor did this day. My parent's had a lot of custom furniture that needed to be disassembled and carefully wrapped and packed every fragile item (bubbe wrap and pads) to ensure a safe move. This team worked tirelessly and was professional throughout the whole process and Dan always checked in to make sure they were putting the items in the correct places. They also always explained a step such as having to remove a door so that furniture could be accommodated and moved into a room. It was a full day move taking about 8.5 hours. Smooth booking, and transaction. Anna did a great job providing clarity and information regarding the service. When we didn't have a clear move date set on our end, she put us as tentative on the schedule which definitely gave us peace of mind. Our move consisted of moving a 36" heavy gas range from one house to another. Boy was it heavy! But the guys took great care with it as we were nervous. They used a truck with a liftgate and pallet jack to move it from our garage to the new house. There was some construction happening on site which prevented a fast delivery; but they waited patiently for the other contractors to give them room to back their truck in place. They even carried it inside for us and were willing to remove the packaging and pallet off site. Nothing was damaged or missing. Fedor and Sergay were on time, attentive, careful and courteous. I have moved twice with Treasure Moving Company. The first move was about a year ago with two Russian guys (sorry I don't know their names) who were AMAZING!!!! They were efficient, careful, and communicative. The second move I've made with this company was good. They were different men from my last move. These two men were very communicative and completed the job. Nothing was broken. The price was reasonable. The only thing I would say is that one of the men said that he used 10 rolls of tape, but he was only going to charge me for 5 rolls. I had already taped up most of my belongings. I only saw the men use three rolls of tape and they did not finish any of the three rolls. I would prefer someone to be honest with me than pull a fast one. read more

Updated Review: After posting this original negative review on Jan 18th, on January 21st some boxes and small sample kits were left on my porch with Treasure moving business cards taped to them. On Jan 23rd I received an email from Fedor K "explaining" the high quote, letting me know to that boxes and moving kits had been left at my home to put the best foot forward, and *asking me to remove my review* Unfortunately this email did little to explain why the quote was so high. It incorrectly stated that I had unpacked clothes which would need to be put into wardrobe boxes (all clothes were packed already by me) and TVs that would need to be bubble wrapped and put in appropriate boxes (I have one TV, already in it's original box). There was still no information about the number of men or trucks for the move, the number of expected hours per day, or total time over the three days. The only explanation for price difference? "All-inclusive flat rate quote is a binding quote that does not change. An estimate is a non-binding quote that is subject to change based on the actual number of hours worked and materials used.  A non-binding quote allows for low-balling, a binding quote does not. By looking strictly at the numbers, this is not an apples-to-apples comparison due to the non-binding estimate being the starting cost while the binding estimate being the final cost. " The binding vs non-binding for an estimate vs a quote does not explain the difference between 4k and 12k! Even at an hourly rate of $350/hr it would take a difference of an additional *20 hours* to come close to Treasure Moving Companies price. In the end I got this job done on January 27th (three weeks before Treasure Moving's proposed February 15-17), in 8 hours (9a-5p), for under $2600, plus a tip to the movers. As a courtesy, I will continue to not include the names of competing companies, including the one I used, but as I said in my first review, do yourself a favor and shop around for a moving company that will actually tell you what it is you're paying for! read more

We had a terrible experience with Treasure Moving Company at the end of 2021. We ordered a small space move that should have taken 3 hours maximum. We know this because Treasure facilitated the move into the space a year earlier. Instead. the move took 5+ hours, and they sent a truck that was too small, requiring us to *hire a second mover* to finish the move. So a move that should have cost a few hundred dollars ended up costing over a thousand. It didn't end there. We posted a Yelp review about our experience. Suddenly, we were receiving calls from the company asking if they could reimburse us for hundreds of dollars of the inflated cost of the move. We agreed the refund was warranted and it was paid, though it still didn't compensate us for the cost of the second mover. Interestingly, just afterwards, a person we've never interacted with (perhaps they did not realize we keep an electronic log), posted a negative Yelp review about our business. TL;DR: Treasure moving company lives up to its name, it's a real treasure. Corny jokes aside, you'd be hard pressed to find a better moving company even if you paid twice as much as their great rates. My wife and I booked Treasure Moving Company for our long distance move. We were moving from the DC area to New York City. A stressful move as it is, but Treasure really did help it be a breeze. They helped move our one bed apartment to New York and the whole thing was super quick and efficient. It only took them a few hours to collect everything in Arlington, and was even quicker delivering it to our new building. Even when we ran into some complications (on our end), Anna from Treasure was so accommodating and went above and beyond to help out. We needed all this additional paperwork last minute and Anna amazingly was able to make it happen. The crew for both pickup and drop off were incredibly nice and positive. I've had movers in the past who have grumbled about having to move stuff, but the Treasure team was a joy to be around, and super friendly. In our new apartment in NYC, there was so much working against them: a tiny elevator, parking in the city, fighting street sweepers and carrying a California King mattress up five flights of stairs - and even then they were nothing but professional, courteous and nice. We were beyond impressed - we had a move from our apartment and storage unit in Timonium to our new home in Columbia right as all of the COVID-19 response measures were kicking in. The Treasure Moving team showed up right on time - all four of them donning masks the entire day. They went above and beyond - blanket-wrapped every piece of furniture, loaded everything onto both trucks lightning fast, and got everything into our new home even quicker than anticipated. There were a few items that really needed to be bubble wrapped, which does cost a bit extra - but they were more than fair on the pricing. And we were already quite happy with the charge for the move overall in the first place. UPDATE: Be careful with how they roll up your rugs and carpets. They didn't bring enough of the right packing material even though the total count of carpets and runners I had was accurate. All of our small runners were wrapped with a sticky tape, against the rubber underlayment, which was impossible to remove without ripping off chunks of the bottom of the runner. If they taped the other side, the fabric would have torn. They should have been rolled and just tied together with a thick rope or string, they were thin and long. In the end, we threw them all out. They also wrapped some of our large expensive carpets with the same sticky tape. It was awful. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Treasure Moving Company's quote beat 2 competitors so I couldn't resist booking them for a move from VA to MD. Granted, I was a little nervous going with a smaller moving company but in the end, it worked out. Based on the info I provided, they sent out the right number of men and the right size truck. The men worked hard, fast, and efficiently to move us. We declined to purchase the mattress covers but they padded the furniture and rugs and provided protection for other pieces too. It's important to mention we did not have many pieces of furniture, and we moved all the fragile items and TV ourselves before the move. They arrived on time ready to go. Very much aware of anything fragile, and to wrap it accordingly. I was quite impressed (and a bit nervous due to the furniture cost) when Sergei disassembled parts of our matching sofa, loveseat and chair. He then wrapped items securely, and re-assembled each piece to original state in our new home. That service was better than the company from which we bought the furniture set. Dennis was clear and friendly in detailing the costs of the move and any additional charges (extra care for more fragile items like our Grandfather Clock). Carlos was very enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable the entire time (roughly seven hours); Ostop was courteous and engaging. We used Treasure Moving in autumn 2021 to move from a retirement community to an apartment in a high-rise. We split the move so that furniture went first. Then about two weeks later, they moved the boxes and miscellaneous stuff. (This splitting was done to accommodate some of our personal needs.) We had two different crews and both crews were great. They were easy to work with, attentive to the care of our belongings, and very reasonably priced. And the woman answering the phone in the office was just plain superb!
