We like visiting this cafe a lot. The coffee is good. I adore the smoothies. The pastries are delicious. The service is incredible. I asked if they had free water and they said they did with a smile! They actually greeted me as well! How nice. The atmosphere and ambiance is cozy and natural. I could stay in there for hours, sipping on the coffee, eating some coffee cake and painting a pottery turtle. The pottery and wooden crafts are a tad bit overpriced, however. I swear I see half of the stuff they sell there at Dollar Tree and Dollar General for $14 less. Nevertheless, still a favorite of mine to go visit. I go to the crochet classes on Sundays at 3PM. Came across this place and so glad we did! It was a busy Sunday morning but very well organized and we ordered at the counter right away. They have vegan options. My Portobello Panini was loaded with mushrooms and red peppers on delicious sourdough bread. The potato salad was very creamy and was one of the side options. Was in town for training and was looking for a small local business to have breakfast. Found this restaurant on YELP and tried it out. I arrived just as they were opening up and was cheerfully greeted by a great group of ladies working there. Right off you know it will be different when you see all the pictures, paintings and other colorful art through the windows as you enter. The interior looks more like an art gallery and studio rather than a place to eat. They have an extensive list of coffee types and flavors. I had a double cappuccino with steamed milk which was exactly what I needed that morning. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese panini with a fruitcup that was very good. While sitting there you are constantly noticing little pieces of art made by customers as well as local artists. Each customer can grab some paints and add to the collection. Some pieces are for sale as well. Next time I am in town and have free time, I might have to try that out. If you are looking for a fun, different and interesting place to eat, this is the place to stop. read more

The girl who took my order and made my smoothie was very nice! The main complaint I have is that I went in expecting to order an egg and cheese bagel and to my surprise the kitchen closes at 2pm. The only thing that says this is a note on the door surrounded by many other notes and writing that are all in bold and the note that says the kitchen closes at 2pm is not anywhere near as eye catching as the rest of the stuff on the door. I looked at the Facebook page to find out what I wanted to order before going in and the Facebook page says that they serve food ALL DAY. That is not the case. I went back to check on the Facebook page after this was made known to me to see if it had been posted in the past and I had to scroll at least 7-8 posts down to see it. This should be included in the pinned post at the top that includes the menu with it as well as a better sign on the door that says that the kitchen closes at 2pm. I would love to come back and try something to eat but I don't think I will be able to make it in before 2 and I wouldn't have wasted my break at work trying to go here and get something to eat if I had known about the kitchen beforehand. Please consider updating the sign/note on the door of the Cafe as well as updating the Facebook page to more accurately show this information. Thank you read more

we have been on this place while driving through Travelers rest. We wanted some coffee and saw some pictures and thought it was cute. There is definitely a child's birthday party going on inside. It's actually a really cute location and very fun and artsy and whimsical. coffee was good, we both got different types of lattes. It came out fast and the prices were reasonable. They have tons of art and there's a creative space to throw parties as well. There's a place to sit and have coffee and it's a great place to gather for groups. I would imagine it's a great place for a first date as there's a lot to talk about there. There is a small free parking lot in the area nearby. They do have food but we did not get any because we came late in the afternoon, but there were some pastries available. Will definitely come here again. read more

I wish there were 100 stars available for rating. What's not to love here? Specialty coffee drinks, omnivore, vegan, vegetarian choices, and an artistic ambience that is kid-friendly. I mean, really. But don't tell anyone - let's keep it our secret so it doesn't become too popular. For lunch, I had the tempeh panini. The tempeh was tender and took on the roasted tomato and pesto base really well. My husband had the ham & cheese melt. Of course we then indulged in a chocolate chip coffee cake with our afternoon coffees. We couldn't stay away. Since we stayed nearby, we went the next morning as soon as they opened. For me, a bagel sandwich (egg, bacon, cheddar on my choice of cinnamon raisin - don't judge me, it was amazing)! My husband had the sourdough breakfast sandwich (egg, vegetarian sausage, cheddar). I also had the con panna and he had a macchiato. I couldn't stop - to go, I ordered a London Fog and you should, too. My milk of choice was coconut and I'm not mad at all. Wanted to share a great experience for a birthday party! We went to Treehouse Cafe and Studio, for my 4-year olds birthday party. We had 13 children ranging from 2-9 with boys and girls. So we went here and I chose a two hour session and a variety of different art projects. Kids could pick a canvas to paint, treehouse/birdhouse, car, etc. that was excellent and Age appropriate. Cost was incredibly reasonable!! The grownups were grabbing coffee drinks and smoothies while the kids did art. All the kids took their craft as a party favor along with a treat I made at home for them. The staff was great!! I'd highly recommend it for a party or just if you're looking for a unique cafe out of the ordinary. They have Wi-Fi, and it would be a great place for someone looking to work from a coffee shop/cafe. This was my 2/3 time but first party. Once everyone left we grabbed quick paninis and smoothies for ourselves. read more

This is my happy place. The environment is the grooviest, most creative, accepting and beautiful, there is art and crafts everywhere, natural light, comfy seating, perfect for studying, painting, eating with friends, having a relaxing time alone or with others. Oh top of that their coffee is AMAZING + their food is top tier especially for vegan options. I struggle to find good vegan options at cafés that only serve pastries, so I am so grateful for treehouse. I love the portabello panini the most, and they also have gluten free bread which I appreciate so much. I love bringing my friends here and showing them how groovy this place is. I love their array of syrups and all the art / creativity everywhere. I just love this place so much, I look forward to coming by every time i'm in TR. This is definitely a hole in the wall place. Kristen and Gene, the owners are gems of people. I have known Kristen for YEARS and was thrilled when she announced she was starting her dream business, an art cafe. My expectations were far exceeded when I visited for the first time, not only is the environment great, the prices for doing your own art (which you don't have to clean up at all, just grab supplies after paying and leave when you're done), the food and coffee are amazing. This is a fantastic local place for kids on the weekend or after school, parents can get food while their kid releases their creative side. I cannot recommend this place any higher. Came here one day last week to sit down with my computer and get some work done. They had plenty of seating with outlets available a Nd good WiFi. Inside, the layout is similar to what it used to be, but new bookshelves make nook-like barriers. It's cute. Lots of homemade crafts everywhere. The regular medium roast coffee was very good. The Peppermint mocha latte with almond milk was okay, just not too sweet and not too peppermint-y. For food, I tried the Southern Peachy Panini without cheese & got a fruit side of fresh pineapple & strawberry. Well, the panini was phenomenal! Tree house cafe is a hidden jewel a diamond in rough. We had planned to go to a different restaurant but the line was too long. We proceeded down Main St and there it was on the corner. When we walked in I didn't know what to expect. As we stepped down the place was so inviting and intimate. The decor takes you through the stages of life. The kids corner takes you from kindergarten to 6 grade then there's a middle schoolish decor and then transitions to Senior High school.Then the artwork and decor becomes a little more mature where young adults can relate. The location is in a college town and this would be a great place to go on a nice inexpensive date. Even mature adults can enjoy. The one thing I really, really appreciated about this place was the insane attention to detail. Someone in charge had absolutely thought of everything.
