Some of my neighbors had work done by Tree Monkeys over several years and were happy with their service. So this year 3 of us decided to hire them to trim our palms. Their quote was a little higher than my usual company but I agreed to work with my neighbors on this group job. We were disappointed that the date given for the job was a month away. On the arranged date they arrived at the scheduled time though and started work. When they got to my property they had trimmed 3 out of 5 trees when the climber came down and some very loud words were exchanged among the workers. Due to machine noise I couldn't hear what they said. But as I looked from inside my house I could see from their gestures that they were arguing. My neighbor, who was outside then, told me later that they were really going at it. Just then one worker took the ladder down and started to leave my yard. I ran outside to ask why they weren't trimming the last 2 trees and was told someone had an emergency at home and they'd come back later. But when I asked when, the response was we'll have to check with the office. Happily, the workers arrived early the next morning and completed the job. They did an ok job cleaning up and even returned to do additional cleaning later. Unlike other trimmers I've had, they didn't move my outdoor furniture back to its rightful place and at that point I was just grateful the trimming was completed. Personally I can't imagine doing this difficult job climbing trees and having debris fall all over you on a hot, humid, summer Florida day. So I'm grateful the job was completed. I did notice later they had broken my old, rusty garden hose holder that had hung on a yard post. When I called about it the office asked me to send a photo. I did so; but since I never heard back I'm assuming that's one additional chore I'll need to do myself. The trees look very good. I'm pleased about that. But I could have been more pleased if the work had been done in a more timely fashion and without the drama. I also realize my usual tree trimming company has spoiled me with their courtesy and with re placing my outdoor furniture in its rightful spot. Not even a customer. Someone across the street was using this service and I, a young woman, walked out to take out the trash. One employee was cat calling me the whole way and being very inappropriate. Also not a customer, but my neighbor used their service. A member of the team came to my door, to ask if they could use my driveway to get to the gate, and if I could move my vehicle for them. He said, they were going to try to remove the gate, which I explained I installed and the center post was not removable (sunk in concrete, and a pain to align) he said not a problem, they would see what else they could do. I grabbed my keys and moved my vehicle off my driveway. No sooner, another member of the team was seen forcibly rocking the center post back and forth in an effort to remove it. I yelled, to which another gentleman came up, saying that nobody told them they couldn't. That I only told one person. Now considering the post is MINE, would think you would be asking before you attempt to do something. Pointed out their were cameras around, and anything damaged they were responsible for. Have video of them working on a cable line in my yard, where they tried to fix it with duct tape. Never informed me of any damage. Wish I could find the footage from dash cam, showing the bobcat driver, trying to spin the bobcat after most the crew had left. Not professional and neighbors beware. read more

Scam. I asked for a quote to trim 3 palm trees. They send it over and ask me to approve it to get on the schedule. So I did. I then have to follow up a week later because no one provided the schedule. They could not get us scheduled for over a month so we had another company do the work (who incidentally ended up being less expensive) and I cancelled my appt which wasn't for another 2 weeks to which i received emails stating you have to cancel within 3 days of approving your quote or you owe 50%. I explained i didn't even get on the schedule within 3 days of approving the quote and then was scheduled a month out so i went elsewhere. Now receiving messages about giving them other work to do or they are invoicing me. Insane tactic. Terrible business. read more

I have used this company several times always with good results. This year the owner has hired others to do parts of his jobs. I had to remind them to come give me an estimate after waiting a week, then they were supposed to call me in a week to get a date on their schedule I had to remind them of that. They came out on 6/25 to trim a tree and I also had vines that they attacked with a tree pole, the vines were to be cut not sawed and then they left a lot of debris. It's now being 10 days with 2 visit to apologize and promises to pickup the debris and to correct the damage done. The first date was 7/1 and today the 5th both to no avail. It's shame cause Anthony is a good guy. He's trying to get bigger but doesn't have the supporting staff behind him. read more

I really wish I was leaving a better review and I had hopes for this company because they were a strong recommendation from a neighbor. I agreed to their contract to trim 2 palms and trim my live oak out front for a total of 250.00. We made a contract on 5/24/2021 and my first appointment was scheduled about a month later in late June. The day they were supposed to show up they never did and later sent an email that no one showed up to work that day and they would reschedule me for a MONTH later on July 22. On July 22nd they didn't show up and called again that night and said they'd be there on the 23rd, and shockingly they didn't show up then either. If you pay with cash there is no additional charge, so I waited around THREE separate days for them to withhold their end of the contract and they have not. I have emailed to terminate the contract and will never consider this company again. I'm leaving 2 stars because the office manager Jaime has been extremely kind and professional despite the crew not showing up. She's tried her hardest to make this right. If she wasn't in this, it would easily be a 1 star review. read more

Tree Monkey trimmed my next door neighbors trees. Unfortunately, they parked all of their heavy equipment in front of my house. Their equipment leaked oil all over the road, which will wash into the retention pond 100' away. I called their office 2 days ago and asked them to come and clean it up with no response. They also put deep gouges in the road that was recently paved. I put the kitty litter down. I actually was going to use them next month, NOT! Very poor! read more

I had 3 tall pine trees removed and the stumps were ground. The quote for doing the job was the middle cost of the 3 estimates I had gotten. The crew arrived when expected. They worked efficiently and left NO tree debris in the yard. Of course there were ruts in the ground where the tree trunks landed - that is to be expected when taking down tall trees. The crew worked together well as a team. They were professional, answered any questions I had, responded to the requests I made and were friendly. They worked around other fruit & nut trees I have in the yard. I was told at the time of the quote that it may take up to a week for the stump grinding, but they arrived in 3 days. I HIGHLY recommend Tree Monkeys. The service was exceptional and the guys working for them were courteous and very hard working. I have a horrible fence that is in bad disrepair - the tree monkeys had to take down part of my fence to access my tree and when they put the fence back together it was more sturdy than it was before they came! Not only did they take down my rather large dead tree, they also cleaned up all of the branches and debris that was already in the yard when they arrived. I can't stress how impressed I was by the tree monkeys! I met several of their employees as well as the owner and his wife and they are very down to earth HONEST people. After spending 3 thousand dollars to have 3 oaks cut down, I am left with three mounds in my yard. They refused to properly grade them or add top soil as well, they merely plopped dry sod on the mounds, which will die of course. Now my lawn looks like a put-put golf course. Unfortunately I will have to find a contractor to fix this. read more

I am having a pool installed and needed some trees removed from my yard and the nearby easement. When I accepted the Tree Monkeys bid they never contacted me, as their email and proposal said. I contacted them, they gave me a date that was very far out (6-8 weeks). I asked if the permits come back sooner will they come out sooner and they said they would work with me. They did not work with me at all. They kept the original date and delayed my pool construction by two weeks. Then, when it came time to pay I handed the guy a check made payable to the company. He said he needed it payable to him. I said I wasn't comfortable with that and he got up in my face and yelled at me that he is the owner and his account got hacked and if I don't make the check payable to him he can't pay his crew. When I called the office to ask about this the girl that answered said she knew nothing about it but my description of him sounded like it was the owner so I needed to work it out with him. After much thought this is my 2nd revision. After the initial work was done I had concerns and wanted to meet with the owner. I was told he would be out at his earliest convenience. Three days later he showed up with a to complete the work of removing dead branches that should have been done the first time. I met with Anthony (owner) who was concerned and wanted to assure work, and clean up, was to my satisfaction. The following morning I found a fairly large branch that simply fell out of the tree. This was not cut by them but was an old dead branch that was somehow not noticed. In addition to that I found ruts in the lawn from their high reach, a broken bracket on the mail box post from when their trailer rose up when the high reach was taken off of it. I have informed the owner, via e-mail, that I will not be recommending his company. He was standing next to the mail box trying to keep the trailer from damaging it and should have been better prepared to prevent ruts in the lawn (laying plywood down in the path of the high reach). read more

I had the first appointment of the day, with an arrival between 8am-9am. By 10am, no one had showed. Called and was told they had a problem with the equipment. Unsure why a text or phone call was never made to inform us they were behind schedule. Finally arrived around 1pm. Did not have the small lift required to remove the one tree, even though we had discussed this at the time of the estimate. Very upset by the amount of canopy taken off my oak tree. When estimate was written, I had explicitly pointed out several large branches I did not want touched. All were removed. One worker had to keep reminding other workers to stay on task. Leaving this one star because of a practically criminal estimate they gave us. They quoted $2500 for a canopy elevation, but it seemed so crazy we got a few more estimates. The highest estimate we got between three other companies was $1000, and we got the job done for $700. Absolutely insane that people will pay their prices. read more

Unprofessional and rude. While onsite for estimate, the owner provided 2 quotes. We were trying to reach our neighbor to determine which one to proceed with. I emailed the owner, and indicated we wanted to proceed with the lesser of the two. Work was completed at a rental property based on the higher estimate. When I called the owner, she said its not her job to answer emails. The work was done based on the higher amount and that is what I owed. I could not believe how she spoke to me, how unprofessional she was and unwilling to admit her oversight. Any sort of concession would have been appreciated which was not provided. Shocked to see bad reviews on here, Tree Monkeys have done a lot of business in my Mother's neighborhood and they all have great things to say, and they have great feedback on Angie's List which is why I picked them. I chose well - this company is truly as good as it gets. They were very quick to respond to my request and scheduled me within the week despite it being shortly after the hurricane. The coordination and skill of these guys is not something I'm sure I can adequately describe - watching the logistics of the team taking down a dead tree (hanging over my neighbor's house no less) was awe inspiring. I got a quote (or tried to) from another company and they wouldn't even attempt the job, given the location and condition of the trees in question. Seeing the complex way these guys tackled this job wouldn't have been possible without the high level of skill and experience of the Tree Monkeys. When the trees were all down, I thought 'this is a mess, this is going to take forever to clean up' but in very short time the entire yard was empty and clean. Absolutely terrible and unprofessional. My neighbors hired this company for tree work in their yard and this company used my yard without permission or authorization and they trespassed on private property. They were extremely rude and brought large equipment through our driveway and past vehicles and damaged one of the cars. I told them to get off of our property and the employees were disrespectful and told me that they tried to ring the doorbell (I don't believe they even tried) to ask permission but since no one answered the door, they decided to rummage through our yard with massive equipment and drag the debris from the neighbors yard through our yard. Don't hire this company; they have zero respect or integrity and they shouldn't be operating if they're so cavalier about trespassing on private property and damaging a vehicle. We called the company manager to have it resolved and they were dismissive and unprofessional when we had photo evidence that the employees brought massive tree removal equipment through our yard with no regards to surrounding property or vehicle. I've never experienced such bad customer service, it's pathetic and disappointing. Trust me, Magic Tree Service is a way more reputable and professional service. On July 27th 2015 Tree Monkeys were hired to trim trees at my Aloma Ave business. Their employees did almost $2000.00 in personal property damages and still are refusing to pay. Then when the insurance company finally got to speak with them, they denied everything. Be very careful of your property if you hire this company. read more

Anthony the owner went above and beyond! Our family indoor cat got out on Saturday and has been in a tree since (for 3 days!) I called the fire department, animal control, and three other tree services and no one would help me! We called and Anthony said they would be happy to help us! 20 minutes later him and his guy were out here climbing our tree and rescuing our cat. They were beyond sweet to our kitty and got her down safely in about 10 minutes time! I would highly recommend this professional tree service with a heart! They removed one huge oak from our front yard and trimmed up several others on our property. Work was done safely, on time, at the quoted price, and without destroying my lawn. Can't ask for much more than that from a tree service. Rating them 4 vs. 5 starts because it was a surprise to find out that I had to remove stump grinding material myself after their stump grinder subcontractor was done (he came over a couple days after tree removal). I would have paid extra for them to remove 1400lbs of stump grindings if I had known that was coming up front. read more
