Charming We were a group of 16, 4 cabins in March 2021. The grounds are just lovely, easy paths, stairs, ramps to use. The cabins range in sizes and layouts. We rented the club house for the two nights we were there to gather and eat. I feel it is a must for bigger groups. The plumbing was turned off though do we had to either haul in water or hump back to the cabin to wash. We did both, neither ideal. Bathrooms were closed, had to hike back up to your cabin to go. Not ideal. Fire pit areas are fabulous. Upstairs sleeping area is really made for younger, shorter people. The steep ladder is functional but gives an uneasy feeling. Gotta come with a plan on what you'll do. We are hikers so the opportunities were plenty. It's not really a lounge around the cabin kinda place. It's small inside so go outside to play.

My wife and I recently stayed at Parkside for a three day weekend culminating in an on-location…read morewedding event. The facility itself was exactly what we expected it to be - a rustic lodge overlooking some beautiful mountain views. The wedding definitely turned out to be memorable, and that is the important thing! The only "challenge" with this venue is the next-door neighbors, who clearly have issues living in proximity to a commercial resort. This was made evident by the posted signs viewable from the rear balconies whereby the neighbors indicated something about the need for guests to keep noise down and be respectful because people live here, etc. Well ... these same neighbors were plainly resentful of the fact that normal party music was played at the wedding reception (music that properly ended at 10:30 pm) and were intent on underscoring the point by BLARING loud outdoor radio music until 2:30 AM and then starting up again at 5:30 AM so as to disturb the guests' ability to sleep. Needless to say, my wife and I were happy to leave this establishment bright and early the next morning. I get it, and it should come to no one's surprise, there are a few "Hatfield and McCoy"-types up in 'dem 'der hills. However, I do believe the resort has some obligation to deal with this problem in a meaningful way, for the benefit of all prospective guests.

That was 41 years ago but we spent time up here for our 40th anniversary this year - using them exclusively since we found them about 20 years ago. I think the ownership went thru change since we've been coming here but we exclusively and use them at least 3-4 times a year. Their special for last minute trips is incredible. After 20 years, 3-4 times a year (so we've stayed in most of them), each one has always been clean as a whistle. We have figured that we have stayed with them over 60 trips. At least. We've never stayed with anyone else the past 20 years! Our favorite place is at the top of the mountain at the water tower. However three of the four we always stayed at and liked the best, all but one was burned down in the Gatlinburg Fire of 2016. It burned down to their concrete footprint. They finally got one of them rebuilt and just opened back up so we are leaving Friday to go there. It's at the very top of the mountain and you can see for miles and miles. Yet it is only 5 min from the Parkway, behind Dollywood. You would think a cabin on the to of the mountain with its incredible view would be miles from the Parkway but it's only a short 5-8 minutes. I can never praise their staff enough. They are awesome people to work with. Some of our favorite restaurants we never miss are the Applewood for bfast, Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade ( this is awesome and relatively new and great to go because there is a Crumbl and Ice Cream shop next door that are for that sweet tooth we always seem to get worse up there), Chop House, Cherokee Grill (Gburg), Ogles Farmers Kitchen ( I think this is the name. It right close to going in for Applewood. We've just recently found this and have been multiple times), The Pottery Barn Cafe is usually our first place we hit coming into town. There is also Paula Deens, Chop House, and Johnny Carino's. This is just for starters. Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

Was clean and the kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. Lovely area and quiet. Plenty of room inside for the whole family. 1st negative - First night we noticed that there were not any pillow cases on any of the beds, they were delivered later in the evening. 2nd negative - The sink in the master bedroom on the first floor would not drain. This caused some minor issues since everyone used this bathroom when on the main level. We had to wait until late afternoon the next day for a repair which included replacing the complete drain and pipes below sink. The repair person was very professional. 3rd negative - It would be nice to have hangers in the closet and some hooks in bathrooms to hang personal items. As we were preparing to leave on our last morning - getting all items packed for 4 kids under 7 and four adults, I inadvertently left my expensive Dyson hair dryer in a drawer in the main bathroom and to top that off, my husband left his wedding ring on top of the dresser. I contacted the Bear Tracks management number to report our mishap. They stated that they would have the cleaners check the cabin. Two more times I emailed and was told the items were not found. I'm pretty upset at myself for forgetting my Dyson dryer, but I am really disappointed with the Bear Tracks team. I do not want to make accusations against them, but I find it really shady that they just disappeared and the cleaning team "couldn't find" them.

They have refused to take responsibility for multiple serious issues during our stay and have since made false claims about what was offered or resolved. The only "accommodation" they ever provided was an offer for amusement park tickets (which we declined), later replaced with a mere $200 refund. This was before the incomplete installation of a portable cooler that leaked water all over the floor--causing my special needs daughter to slip and fall. Instead of addressing the hazard, they accused us of disconnecting the unit, which is completely false. To make matters worse, after five days of using the same entry code without issue, we were locked out of our own cabin and told we "no longer knew the code." The entire experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and far from what any guest should expect--especially from a company managing vacation properties. I would strongly caution anyone considering Bear Tracts Cabins. Their lack of accountability, misleading statements, and disregard for guest safety speak volumes about how they operate.

The cabin was comfortable enough- there are several different levels of floor so lots of trip hazards, some doors that don't close great, and the location is interesting. I wouldn't call it quiet- for our stay a neighbor was out shooting most nights and on the other side is a rooster that crows each morning. The beds were very comfortable. The water is extremely sulfurous- I would plan on brushing your teeth with bottled water. We were mostly at the cabin only to sleep and it was great for that. It is very accessible to the greater pigeon forge area. Again, the Bear Camp folks were great, answered our questions, and were very responsive so overall definitely positive. I would consider staying with Bear Camp again, maybe not in this particular cabin.
