Max and his crew trimmed several branches off a very large tall tree in our side yard that was hanging over our roof and bending into our backyard. TreeMax are professional, polite, and knowledgable. On the day of the job after further inspection, they called an audible from what was originally discussed which gave us a long term fix - and it turned out one of the branches was damaged and would have fallen in another 1-2 years. They wear walkie-talkie helmets which allows the guys in the trees to communicate with each other and with the person(s) on the ground. So next level to what I'm use to which is guys just yelling at each other (what!? more left!? no - left!!! thump...) Max promptly responded to all my texts and phone calls. I received a quote the same day he came to my house to look at the job. We agreed on a date and time and his crew arrived 15 minutes early. Their price is comparable to the other 5 star tree service companies (and much lower than Friendly Tree Care). They care about the end results and your satisfaction. The front yard was clean after the job was complete. With the recent wind storm, we had 2 tops from our redwood trees in our backyard break off. Max came out to survey/estimate. It was determined both trees were still healthy and would not have to be cut down, but recommended that both would be 'topped' so they would not gather water at the breakoff points. We have several large redwoods on our property. We were concerned that the brown we were seeing indicated a problem with them. We had a Japanese Maple we were also worried about. Daniel came out to give us an estimate on any work we might need. The guy that did our estimate was very helpful and knowledgeable, established a good report with us using common interests (saw our motorcycles in the garage.) In addition to removing one tree and thinning/pruning 2 others we needed a couple fronds trimmed from 2 palms in the back, literally 4 fronds total that were just too high for us to reach. He gave us lots of reasons why his co. didn't "do palms" (dulls their blades, etc.) but in the end he said "maybe" his guys could do it, he would "check." We even offered to dispose of the fronds ourselves, we just could reach them with our ladder. In any case we decided to go with them (over 2 other bids that agreed outright to remove the palm fronds) and on the scheduled day the team showed up and when I asked them about the palms they seemed confused and said NO WAY are they cutting them, they don't do that and it wasn't mentioned in the contract they were given. I was irritated but with all their trucks/equipment on site felt like I could really cancel. Overall they did an good job, but a couple irritating things: 2 of their guys moved our patio furniture in order to make it easier to remove debris but they didn't replace it when they were done. Also they didn't bother to move a potted trellis plant along the fence toward our gate and as a result it had numerous broken vines. Next time I would probably go with another co. read more

we had TreeMax out this week to trim and take off dead limbs from a number of large trees in our yard. First the owner, Max came out and went over what we wanted done. He was thorough and took pictures of each tree or area we wanted addressed and promised a quote later that day. We got the quote that evening, everything was itemized with pictures of each area. Max let me know that he was doing a neighbors trees on Monday and if he coordinated both jobs he could offer a 10% discount. we gladly agreed to the contract. The crew including Taylor, Tobie and 2 others showed up at the scheduled time and Taylor went over the specifics of the work to be done, then they got started. They had 2 large trucks, one with a chipper and the other with a bucket on a huge articulating arm. They did a great job on all our trees! even including some minor work not on the estimate.
