After the macroburst uprooted my palo verde tree which then landed on my house, I called TreeWise. Given that it was a Sunday and there was a lot of widespread damage in the area, I wasn't sure how long it would take to get a response. Howard called back surprisingly quickly and made arrangements to come out right away to take a look. He ensured there wasn't any risk of further damage to my house, explained what he intended to do to remove the tree and gave me a reasonable estimate. Let's face it, when there's a tree resting on your house, a less-than-reputable person might try to turn the situation to their advantage, but Howard was honest about what did and didn't need to be done and didn't boost the price. He and his crew worked efficiently and were surprisingly quiet considering the task - quieter and less disruptive than people I'd had trim that tree in the past, in fact. Howard kept me apprised of progress and made sure I knew what was going on at appropriate intervals. They cleaned up the yard very well - even trimming a branch from a different tree which had been affected by the storm so I wouldn't have to, and picking up those I'd cleaned up and put out for bulk trash pickup. Howard is professional and fair, letting you ask for as much detail as you want or keeping it as simple as possible, depending on your comfort/interest level. He is obviously knowledgeable and loves what he does, and brings it to you in a friendly and personal way. Don't just hire a "tree guy" but go with an arborist...and don't just hire any arborist, hire one who knows how to keep both trees and people happy. Howard *is* TreeWise - he's the heart of the business from estimate to final walk-through, putting his expertise and skills to work throughout and not just turning the project over to a crew you've never met once you've agreed to the work. This is the most pleasant experience I've ever had working with a tree expert. Howard was almost immediately responsive to my request for estimate and the quote was very reasonable. He arrived right on schedule and obviously knows his stuff when it comes to taking care of trees, including the tall palms. He's not a 'salesman' - his response to some of the things I asked about was to convince me that I really didn't need it, or that I would need it later but not now. In one case he gave me instructions for a way I could save money - he taught me how to fertilize the Queen Palms at the roots instead of the crown so I could easily do it myself. Refreshing! He also threw in a few little things he felt needed to be done, without charge. My impression is that he is honest with strong values overall, is very service-oriented (he consulted me several times during the trimming to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted and to give me his recommendations), he has a very pleasant, positive personality, and he's friendly, polite and professional. Had a crew remove 5 very large cottonwood trees. Treewise's quote was quite a bit less than a competing quote I obtained...and they held to it. They did it in the two days they estimated, including grinding the stumps and cleaning up nearly all traces of the removal (twigs, leaves, etc.). Great job to Dave and his team...that was a ton of work! Worked with Clayton and Gary on the estimate, scheduling, and follow-up, which was also great. In the process of removing the trees, a branch fell on a nearby tall metal slide...but Treewise made it right so it didn't detract from the experience. The trees involved were also very close to the house, so I'll take a branch falling on the slide instead of the house! They promptly accepted responsibility and took the estimated cost of repair/replacement right off the bill, no questions asked. I can see how removing old large trees can be an unpredictable and dangerous thing, and occasionally things don't go as planned. Our HOA hired TreeWise to perform tree trimming and reshaping of all of our trees yestereday 4/28/2014. Our on property trees had been neglected for years. The task to trim dead branches, reshape the look of the trees and promote growth was to say the least a daunting task. Excellent experience. I contacted Howard for a quote to trim our two tall Mexican Fan Palms. Being new to AZ, we didn't have much experience with palm trees, and had many cards through the door and people knocking for work, but I knew that I didn't want someone climbing a 40ft tree on my property without experience and insurance! I was pleased to find Treewise, a local, family owned company with a professional arborist, since I knew they would care for our trees and trim to ISA standards. We recently bought a home that has 9 trees in the back and side yard. They were getting bigger than we'd like and some had branches resting on our roof. After looking at the reviews on Yelp, we called Howard to come and give us an estimate. He missed our initial appointment, but came out the next afternoon. Never having to have trees professionally trimmed before, we didn't know what price range to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with Howard's estimate, and we were very comfortable with his tree knowledge, so we scheduled him to come and do the work. If you need tree work, this is your guy! I called Howard for an estimate and he came out the same night...at 7:30 pm, which I'm sure is past his work day! By 10:00 that night, I had an email with an estimate, which was very reasonable! Howard moved up our appointment from Thursday to Monday, even though it was not an emergency. Our appt was between 1-2:00 pm. He called before he came, and arrived at 1:01 pm! Watching the Mexican Palm come down was an experience, and they even let me stand to the side to video tape it! Howard returned my call quickly and I was impressed by him and didn't bother to call anyone else. He came to our house to give us a quote. Howard was very courteous, friendly and honest and appeared to be very knowledgeable. He gave us a reasonable quote to trim 3 willows including one that was in especially poor shape. I needed my palm trees trimmed and I called Treewise after looking at the reviews on Yelp. I normally don't trust yelp that much but it turned out to be the "GOOD ONE". He came over to my house and gave me a quote the next day. The price was very reasonable and He was on time for the job. Howard did awesome job trimming my palm trees.
