Stopped in on Sunday. Not particularly busy, but a very large space. We sat at the bar and had good conversation with another couple. We didn't eat, but did get a bag of snack mix which hit the spot. Good brew. Others around got food which looked good will have to go back to sample. read more

This place has a sports bar-ish feel to it and kind of seems like an old outback steakhouse, but they brew their own beer and it's owned by a young local couple. They have pretty good bar food, and the staff were all fun and friendly. I had the fried pickles, which were pretty solid, though I like fried spears better than fried chips. My friend said his burger hit the spot. There is a nice little patio outside with a few tables that gets good sun. To the right when you walk in there is a larger room that seemed like it was hosting an event, so that might be an option there too. read more

This was are fourth stop of the night on the ale trail. The area is really large and can accommodate a ton of people. Lots of screens around with a ton of sports. The beers were all really good and the prices were nice on those. There is a full menu with burgers, tacos, and apps. I was a bit surprised when the apps came out - the onion rings were $4 (not bad), but the four quarter size mini tacos were $6.50! It was a little crazy since the inside was cold and it was 80% dough. I would come back to try the burger but the apps would be a pass. read more

I FINALLY made it out to Trek. It's been far enough out of the way that it wasn't a high priority to visit! ...and what a let down. Let's start with some basics before I go into it: - big open seating areas, a nice patio - they're on top of the cleaning/masks The service was good! It was two ladies behind the bar, and one dude handling the food from the kitchen (well, he was outside the kitchen door, there could've been fifty people in there, I don't know). The highlights: not the beer. The burger sliders and fries were tasty, and definitely what I wanted. The mozzarella sticks were not - they were bland, essentially "string cheese with a crunch." Just... meh. So stick with sliders and fries. The beer was... just okay. Nothing to write home about, nothing I can even recall to say "you must try this beer" - it was all just... standard. So - if you're in the area, it makes sense if this is your place to go. I love local bars/breweries! But for a place to travel to, there is not a whole lot here to convince me to make the trip again. By no means is their beer bad - and if I see it on tap, I may try it again to see if it's improved/changed, but at the moment, it's low on my "Columbus area breweries" totem pole. read more

Trek is another Newark brewery. It's on the west side of the city. Just off of Route 16 after Granville. It's in a former location of Damon's. There's plenty of indoor seating. I didn't know about this brewery. It popped up when looking for breweries. Three Tigers is what we were looking for, so we also found this. It appears to be pretty new. They have a pretty small draft list of beers they made on site. It's in a former Damon's, so it has a few sections that are separated from each other. The front entrance takes you to a lobby, and then you have to go through an opening to get to the bar, or you can go to the dining room. I had the Solo Hike IPA. It's about $5 for a pint. This isn't extremely hoppy like a lot of IPAs can be sometimes. If you like breweries you should visit if you're around. It's not one of the better ones honestly. They are still a newer one so they may just need more time. read more

We have visited a few times with a small group and large group and the staff are always quick to turnaround drink and food orders. I've had several menu items and all are really good especially the burgers! There are several types of beer and other beverages to choose from. The staff and owners are super friendly and very accommodating! This is a great place for families and is kid friendly! read more

Another brewery that never experiments with other types of beers/flavors. Always the same old ones on tap, and not really thrilling at all. Sitting in the brewery is like sitting on the playground of an elementary school. So if you enjoy children running around, yelling, throwing things while drinking boring at best beer, then this place you'll love. I'll check back in a year to see if it's gotten better, but it hasn't yet. read more

like Trek. Granted, they are only 3 months old, and they only have 3 beers of their own right now. - a cream ale, a pale ale, and a vanilla stout. We tried the ales, and they're both a Solid 4 stars. Pale ale was try, a bit bitter, just like a pale ale should be. They also have a number of guest taps (check out the picture). The space is large, a food truck was on site. Note that Licking County does not allow dogs. Servers were also really nice, and the place is clean. Note that they make about 2 1/2 barrel kegs each week, which is what they go through in a weekend. No growlers right now, but give them a month or two. Check it out if you're in the area or on the ale trail. read more

Not my favorite brewery but not a bad experience. It's located in a building that used to be a restaurant called Damon's (?) so the space is unique to say the least. Upside to this is that there is a lot of seating and parking. I wasn't crazy on the brews they had on tap. There were only 4 (apparently their 5th ran out earlier in the day -- especailly sad because it was a saison). I tried their cream ale and red ale. Neither particularly blew me away. The other people I was with ordered similarly and liked what they got. Average prices and excellent service. read more

During the heat of the pandemic I could get take home beer and food. I'm in love with their pretzels and their burgers. When we've eaten in the restaurant my kids love sitting near the games and toys and it's loud enough that I don't think they drove too many crazy. read more

I attended Trek Brewery for the Tap the Craft podcast meet up. I've been following this place for months with the anticipation of it opening- and I was so happy to finally be inside! During our visit, Listermann Brewing had a tap takeover, but we started with the Trek pale ale - and it as excellent. The beers to follow did not disappoint. Trek has a partnership with several food trucks in the area, and I just love when places without food do this. During our trip "3 Cheezy Guys" (I think that was the name) were serving up melts- I had a sloppy Joe melt. Yum. The brewery has a huge amount of space to spread out, mingle, play some board games-which they have on site - and also a really cool outdoor seating area. This is the kind of place you would come and hang out all night. They even have a kids corner that was perfectly thought out. It's not separate from the adults- but it keeps them corralled as to keep a close eye on the kiddos! John and Kristin (the owners) were hanging out and having a great time with us while also working hard to keep the beers flowing. I'm sure there are growing pains with opening a brand new place- but give this place a chance! They make it their mission to make sure you and your family have a great time! Oh, and they have the softest sweatshirts on Earth. I can't wait till fall when I can bust mine out! read more

Husband and I came in on a Sunday shortly after opening. We were warmly greeted by the staff/owners and sat at the bar. The owners were welcoming and friendly, engaging in conversation with us without being overbearing. I liked the setup of the place (a former restaurant)- large wraparound bar with multiple TVs, some dedicated to the beer menu with UnTappd feed. Great brews, attention to little details, and welcoming environment. Would be back weekly if we lived here but will definitely come in every time we're in town. read more

Four of us visited Trek on an early Sunday afternoon. I believe we opened the joint up because we were the only ones in the place. Immediately when you walk in you notice the vastness of space. You also see the remnants of the old bones of Damon's restaurant. I appreciated all the TV's, I just know that Damon's isn't around anymore because obviously what drives customers is changing. I thought to myself, these owners are ambitious to take on so much space in the beginning, they must really believe in what they are doing. And good for them. We were lucky enough to be immediately greeted by Kristin, the wife of the husband wife ownership team. She seemed so passionate about the beer. She answered every question we asked. We found out from her that Trek has basically 5 flagship beers that they plan to always have available at the taproom. They are as follows; Trek Canteen (cream ale), Trek Scarlet (red ale), Trek Weekend Wanderer (pale ale), Trek Trail Magik (stout), and Trek Solo Hike (IPA). I did a 4 beer sampler of all but the Canteen. I also discovered they their Trail Magik is their bad for their Trek Java Magik (a coffee stout). They began with a one barrel system but they soon found that they were meet with more demand and they just recently inherited Seventh Sons old 15 barrel system. So they are definitely focused on having plenty of beers on tap at their taproom. I think that is extremely important. Especially as a new brewery. You need to have your beers on tap when guests visit. Otherwise call yourself a restaurant or bar (hint hint Knotty Pine). I can't tell you how much we appreciated Kristin and her passion for what they are doing. They have big plans in the future of potentially offering food with a menu, currently they heat up pre-made pizzas from a local pizza shop. And you can currently bring outside food in, but I bet that changes if they ramp up their kitchen offerings. Try Trek out, it is worth it. read more

Really disappointing! We are craft brewers and we're only here for one day. We came in and were told that last call was 15 minutes before closing- 9pm. They wouldn't serve us. We grew up in Newark and are disappointed to not be able to try. The server was not pleasant or apologetic. read more

We love going here on Fridays after dinner. They have great beer and a play area for the kids. There are also tons of games for the family to play. It's clean, comfortable and the entire family has a good time. Recommended for families and groups. read more

Trek is a great place to bring a family. We take our kids there all the time. The kids area is great and they have in-house pizzas that are delicious. Also, the beer is fantastic. I am not a big fan of IPAs, and they do have a several on tap but they also have a great variety of other types beers, they have 7 to 9 of the Trek beers on tap. The Canteen Cream Ale is my favorite, as well as the Scarlet Red Ale. We regularly bring a group of friends there and play board games and all the kids play in the play place. If you are looking for great beer, a family environment, and a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to be! read more

Good beer, good service, and good food. No complaints from me! The couple times I've been they've had different food trucks and each time they were delicious. I was a big fan of Treks brown ale as well. I hear that they're serving pizza now and the owners often have events that benefit good causes as well. I think that's pretty cool. read more

This is kind of an odd setup because the place is absolutely enormous. I feel like it would be a great sports bar atmosphere if there wasn't covid. Their red ale was incredible and I had one of the best pulled chicken sandwiches I have ever had at this place. Onion rings were delicious. Some breweries that advertise a menu, especially a more fried menu, are suspect, but this place knocked it out of the park. They also have a nice outdoor seating area, but it unfortunately was raining when I visited. read more
