Probably the worst laundry mat I've ever not had the pleasure of visiting. I'll spare you the drama and play by play it took to FINALLY wash and dry clothes and just give you the guide to success at this place. 1-BRING $5 bills ONLY 2-BRING soap, fabric softener/sheets 3-No one is available to help! Don't ask or wait, you'll expire. 4-DON'T use the soap machine, it'll steal your money. Bad machine! 5- didn't follow #2 then go to J&B corner store for soap and fabric softeners/sheets if you don't have them. $10 for a little bottle of Tide or Gain. Fabric sheets $2.99 You'll be there for a while so you might as well grab a Snickers.... Just saying. 6-the meat & potatoes There is a machine that you out $5 in and pop out a cash card. That machine charges you $2 for the card and you get your $3 to go towards laundry. Here's the fun part this machine only takes $5 bills. Yeah do the math on how much you need to spend for washing and drying. Good luck!! Someone could clean up if they ran a little hustle out of here buying partial laundry cards and reselling them. Traveling always presents the challenge of trying to find a good, clean, reliable laundromat. Finding a place may be easy. Finding one that answers all of the above is not so easy, and the Tremont Street Laundromat ticks all the boxes. It's super clean, small and friendly. On my visit I realized I don't have any Bill smaller than a $20 and I only needed $5 to do my laundry. As they say, "it takes a village...". After asking for change for a $20, which no one had, person donated a card, the other gave me $5 (I happened to have $5 in quarters which I gave him in return) and basically, everyone looked out for me! Thank you strangers for your kindness and help! Do not go under any circumstances!!!I wish I could give it it a negative rating. You have to buy a $5 card to do laundry. Half the machines are broken. There is no detergent in the purchase dispensers. One machine sucked up my $5 card when I inserted it. Nobody takes care of this place. read more

Seems like a decent place to stop in and wash clothes before traveling back home. Their cashless system failed them, and lost them customers. You need to load money onto prepaid cards to operate their washers and dryer's. There were no cards and the machine, and after talking to customer service, the issue was reported the day prior and still no technician was dispatched to restock the machine. read more

The machine doesn't work to get a card to run the machines so I think you have to call the number. BIG disadvantage. The thing I did like about this laundromat was there were two men willing to share their cards with me so I could do my laundry and wouldn't accept any money. Then one man gave me the extra time on his dryer. I wouldn't have gotten my laundry done with out the community support. Bring your own laundry detergent! read more

Clean and fair sized place. Hate they don't use any cash you have to purchase a card to do anything in this place. All signs/directions use English as second language and no staff on hand to assist. Machines all appeared clean and worked well. One load to wash and dry ran $5 and only took about 45 mins. read more

This laundromat used to be a good one, it's really fallen apart. Today I counted 7 dryers worked.. out of 21 dryers! There was a hoard of people waiting for working dryers. Nevermind the ones that aren't labeled not working and they take your money. I don't know who even manages this laundromat but they need to figure it out because it should be shut down. Also? I am from out of town, needed a laundromat, drove by this one and decided to give it a try. I'm not actually sure if this is an official business, but they took my money in exchange for a service so it fits the definition in my book. The reason I say I'm not sure it's a business is because it has no name, and seems to be the public laundry room for the New Mass Pile Towers housing complex, but the entry doors aren't locked or anything. The laundromat itself is very clean, and the machines look fairly new (and are also clean). The operator appears to be CSC Service Works. There are 2 folding tables towards the front of the facility, and some chairs that can be moved around. There is also a Coca Cola vending machine that dispenses drinks for $1.50. One nice perk is that the back of the facility faces a park/playground which you can access. As I write this, there are around 8 small load Speed Queen machines that cost $2.25/load, 8 medium load Maytag machines that cost $2.75/load and 8 large load Maytag machines that cost $3.25/load. There are also 18 large Maytag dryers that cost $0.25 per block of 8 minutes. Bring large bills because you will need to buy a card from the card dispensing machine in order to pay for the machines and to buy things from the soap dispensing machine. The card will cost you $5.00. The card dispensing machine also allows you to refill credit on your card. If you are staying at either the W Boston, the Four Seasons, or anything near there (and are a cheapskate like me) this laundromat is within walking distance. Rated 4/5 only because the card dispensing machine was out of cards. Luckily another user had a spare card he let me buy off him. read more

this place is terrible. you have to fill up your laundry card with cash and can only get a card with a $5 bill. on top of this 12 out of their 24 machines officially don't work while the 12 that "work" are unclean and seemingly not distributing detergent properly as there's always large amounts of detergent residue always in the deposit area. additionally, the dryers are also all out of order. seemingly no one works there as well. read more

large percentage of wash and dry machines are broken. Always residue from infrequent cleaning. No seating. the functionality of this location relies completely on the community of users, and we are given no care in return. At least clean and maintain the machines. Then maybe add some seating instead of telling us where NOT to sit. read more

The prices aren't bad and it's the only one in my neighborhood, so I go here. Sometimes machines are out of order but I'm always able to find a machine to do my laundry. They don't have a sink here. There's usually only two laundry carts. Sometimes people have stolen the carts which is annoying. read more

Definitely not closed. Within walking distance from doubletree hotel Boston so very convenient. These were large commercial washers and dryers so 1 load was enough for a family load of 4 days of clothes. Typically, users had to buy a card to use the laundry, but a nice person offered to let us use his card and we just paid him back. With that experience, definitely 5 stars. Visiting from out of town and needed to do laundry before flying home. This was the closest place to our hotel so we tried it out based on the reviews. Terrible decision. Not really located in a clean area and the facility was rather small and dirty. You needed to buy a wash card to add funds onto which there were none available. Tried calling but no luck. The lady who worked here didn't even know what to do. Luckily, there was a nice customer who allowed me to pay him to use his wash card. Seek another laundry facility if you're in the area to save yourself the headache. read more
