Average for Boston south end. The lady is somewhat nice, although gruff. The phone doesn't work. Don't try calling. The washer and dryers are fairly free outside the weekends and 6-8 most days. Especially in covid times. It's a real scam with the card system cause you invariably lose $1-2 in change and $5 when you lose a card. read more

Review for drop-off only: A few times in the past year when I've been really busy and stressed, I've dropped my stuff off here. Never again. They destroyed a dress, two shirts, and a whole bunch of underwear and socks all in one fell swoop. They all have huge blue splotches all over them. Apparently they have never heard of separating darks & lights. UGH. Not even an apology or acknowledgment - they just sent me on my merry way to discover when I got home that I had paid $18 to have $150 worth of clothes ruined. Jerks. read more

I just moved to the South End so "TLC" is the closest place for me to do some laundry. There are a lot of neat things about this place. If you're a new client, you get 20% off the first in-house laundry service. The staffs are very friendly and cordial. Absolutely helpful when it comes to operating and learning how to use the machines. I had my laundry done by them twice and they did it nicely! Folded them up neatly and quite clean! I'm definitely gonna use their services again. Go early when they open (8:30am) if you want to do your own laundry. There are no lines then. By 9am, good luck finding a vacant machine. I live around the corner and my building doesn't allow scented detergent so I thought I would come here. I had been here before they remodeled the place and I hadn't had any problems with it before. I walk in and yes, there are tons of shiny new washers and dryers, but you pay for it. Even the smallest machine costs around $4 a load. Just to top it off, they don't take quarters. They make you buy a card for $5 and then you have to top that up and use the machines with it. I've never seen that system before and it pissed me off. I'm not paying double for your washers, plus an extra five just for a card that I can't use anywhere else. Also, pretty sure there is no hot water.... I walked out the door and stuck with the machine in my building. Won't be back. read more

1. This laundromat does not have hot water; they do not! Thus, it makes absolutely no sense to separate your darks from your whites (unless, of course, you have new articles of clothing that may bleed). 2. If you're a WDF customer you should request that your laundry be weighed AFTER it has been washed, dried and folded. They weigh laundry as soon as it's brought in - dirty clothes weigh more! Too, they add an extra pound or two to the total amount ($1.00 per pound adds up!). 3. WDF customers should also request to know precisely which Attendant is doing their laundry. 4. More times than not, this laundromat has many machines out of order. 4. Customer Service: Horrible! I was pessimistic when I heard this place had a new owner. Then, I was downright annoyed when my clothes ended up covered in ink from a missed pen and in response I got a snarky letter about how it was my "fault". Maybe it was my fault... but let me tell you, over the past 2 years Vivian had my back, and though I'm sure I've left many a pen she always found them. Too bad Vivian, Ashley and the entire old guard were fired quite suddenly yesterday, since it sounds like there's nothing but snarkiness and cutting corners in the future. I'm posting my google review here. I suspect the bad reviews are very dated, as the place is more than fine, it's very good. Google review: No idea why all the negative reviews, this laudromat is much, much better than most. The machines are clean and look quite new, the 2 tables to fold ones clothes were perfectly clean too. Yes it's a pain and not cheap to buy the payment card for $5 (though you get $3 credit on it right away): you have to use precisely a $5 bill, no change is given, can't use credit cards. And you can only load the card in increments of $5 or $10, so for a single load it's not cheap. Also when I was there most of the single use laudry soap was sold out. But many machines were in use when I was there, and the ones I used were all fine. I used 75c (3 loadings) to dry my clothes and it was more than enough. So if you use up your card the laundry is not expensive at all. (I used the $2.25 wash, the larger machine is $2.75. I'm hoping I don't lose the card and will use this laundromat again next time I'm in Boston read more

LOVE the new atmosphere. I was not comfortable comeing in here before, but wow, such an improvment. The staff is exceptionaly friendly and very helpful. We use them for the salons' towel service and they fold them perfectly. I have popped over from time to time to put a load of capes in as well, and always a nice staff person is there to assit. read more

Tremont Laundry and Cleaners went downhill fast with the new owners. More than half the machines are always out of order, and it's a crapshoot whether the ones that are supposedly working will be good enough to actually wash and dry your clothes properly. The management tried arguing with my husband and I after we politely informed them that a dryer ate two of our quarters ("Just push the quarters in! We can't give you new quarters!"), and refused to giving us a free drying cycle after we pulled out a load of wet clothes that were in the dryer in for 65 minutes on high. Do they seriously think it's a smart idea to argue with customers? Take your laundry elsewhere, because the new owners here clearly have no idea how to run their own business. read more

NO NO NO. DO NOT PATRON THIS PLACE FOR DRY CLEANING: All you need to know is: 1.) They washed, dried and folded MY SUIT! Yes, you read that right. I'm saying they LAUNDERED my black wool 2-piece SUIT. And folded it up with my t-shirts! Are you kidding me? 2.) They lost my favorite embroidered linen summer shirt and then denied it - as if my closet is so vast I can't keep track of my own clothes. The thing is, I was planning to wear this to a wedding so I am utterly aware that I dropped it off. I suspect they laundered that too along with the other shirts and shrunk / destroyed it so badly they covered up by "losing" it. Tremont Laundry and Cleaners is, very simply, horrendous at their job. If you think you're saving money, think again when you lose expensive items or have them returned to you destroyed. read more

This place is, unfortunately, the pits. There are only about three washers that are working at any given time and about five dryers. Of the dryers, there is really only one that will dry clothing in a timely manner. I really want to like this place because it is so close to my house, but the lack of machines and NOT having HOT water in their machines makes it difficult for me to go there. The only positive about the place is the sweet girl that works there. She is always very helpful (she has to start most of the machines because they are broken and you can't actually put your quarters in). read more

Dropped off two comforters, left with one! The employee said that they gave my other comforter to someone else! WTF. Then she stood there starring at me with no other explanation. HELLO... Well don't you think you should find out who has my sh#t? She said she'd call my in 3 days. Then asked if I was going to pay her. There's one great reason to go get your clothes dry cleaned at Tremont Laundry and Cleaners: the prices. The South End isn't exactly the hotbed of inexpensive dry cleaners, but shirts for $1.70 and pants for $4 and change is as good as I've seen. (Sarni customers, take note: you're getting ripped off. Go across the street.) That said, it's not my favorite place to do old-fashioned laundry. Other laundromats in the South End have cheaper prices and a little more space to maneuver. read more

when I 1st moved back to the South End I was reading reviews and was nervous about going to Tremont Laundry. There were talks about how the machines were always out of service, etc. The 1st night I went there - the reviews could not have been more accurate. But the staff was VERY nice and there were people there working on fixing issues. Even though it was limited for use, I was still in and out of there in a decent amount of time. I decided to give then another shot and was glad I did. This time only 2 machines were not in service and the staff was nicer then the 1st time. Don't go there often (laundry has since been made available in my building), but will still go there when I have larger quantities that need to get done sooner, etc. read more

After a horrible experience at Five Star Cleaners I decided to head down a little farther on to Tremont. Although the hike with 3 months worth of laundry isn't the greatest, it is definitely worth it. They have a WDF service that is only 1 dollar a pound (and you get 20% off on your first visit) and if things don't completely dry and there is someone at the desk there, then they will give you some additional quarters to dry the rest out! It was awesome. But be careful when coming between the hours of 12:30 and 2:30 because usually there isn't anyone at the desk (so if you need to buy detergent, you can't or if you need help with anything... no one will be there) but usually there are people there that are very nice and lend you some detergent! read more

Tremont Laundry + Cleaners rocks. I go sometimes 2x a week for wash + fold drop off. Only a few times the opening person has not been there/overslept/been late to work - which leaves you outside waiting for them to open. But other than that - Vivian who works at night and her daughter - they are sooo nice. They make you feel like a true regular; they are very hard workers; they are genuinely nice and they really take care of you: the two of them are a bright spot in your day after a very, very long day at work. This place cost me four dollars a load, so in the end i spent 16 or 20 dollars every weeks coming to this place. i liked it because it's right below my appartment, but now adding up the cost i realize its worth the extra effort to go elsewhere. read more

Oh, the things you find while perusing the WWW. I used to be a customer of Tremont Laundromat. Used to be. The new owner went in and did wonders to the place. It was clean and always staffed with really cool, nice people - except for the skinny dude (Mark?), who is very rude. I dealt with it for a while but when I found out that the other guy, Brad, left, I left as well. Also, the place is no longer clean, too many machines are often out of order, and their dry cleaning service sucks - and it took almost 3 days to get my laundry back (and one of my shirts was ripped!). I now trek my laundry and dry cleaning to Executive Cleaners. The guys there aren't very sociable, but at least they're not rude - and I know their machines work! Unfortunately, Tremont Laundry is becoming just like your other laundromats - dirty, dingy, unkept, and bad customer service. read more

Terrible experience. Two shirts came back from dry cleaning with NEW stains on them. When I told the worker, she wasn't apologetic at all, and seemed annoyed to have to redo the shirts. I had to call them many times to ask about the status of my shirts, and ended up having them redo the shirts two more times, b/c the stains wouldn't come out, yet they told me the shirts were clean and ready for pickup. After the third try, the owner refused to speak to me, and had the employee offer to give me a store credit for $10, for my shirts which are $60 each. To add to the frustration, three different shirts had the dry cleaning tags stapled on them, fraying the edge of the shirts. read more
