Pleasanton Rentals provided most of the rentals for our recent wedding on a ranch. It was a big project- everything had to be built, as the venue didn't have much in terms of infrastructure. Overall, we were quite happy with PR, especially our rep Kelly. The only drawback was a sort of confusing contract system that often included changing prices for things without a clear understanding of why the change was made. If the contracts were a bit clearer, especially when updated, we would have given PR 5 stars. read more

We rented table cloths, napkins and chargers for our wedding in May and couldnt be happier with everything. They had a fantastic selection of colors, fabrics and textures to choose from. I seriously could have gone crazy with choosing everything. We were on a budget so we just got what we needed. When I was visiting there was another bride there with her designer/wedding planner ??? When i lived in Pleasanton this was the ONLY place I would rent from. Since I have moved away i have been unable to find anyone in my area with the quality, service or selection that Pleasanton Rentals has. Two weeks ago I found myself needing Carnival Games/Equipment fast. I could not find what I needed locally so I decided to check Pleasanton Rentals as they always seemed to have everything. I went online and used their website to order everything I needed. I was able to see pictures and prices and was amazed at how easy it was to navigate the website. After placing my order (on a Sunday). I received a phone call first thing Monday morning to confirm and finalize the order. What an amazing wedding planning experience I had with the team here! I got married on May 11th and used Pleasanton Party Rentals for charger plates, glassware, linens, easels, our bar, and anything else my heart desired. Kim was a HUGE HELP with everything. She answered all (tons) of my e-mails, and even went out of her way to send me photos of an item I inquired about. Sad to hear she is no longer with the company, she was awesome! I had a party last weekend and ordered chivari chairs and cocktail tables. The chairs they delivered were pretty battered and bruised. Definitely over priced considering the condition they are in. The party was on Saturday and they said they would do the pick-up on Monday. They wrote that on the contract. However, they showed up on Sunday with no notice and woke everyone up and we had to quickly get everything together for them. I called Pleasanton rentals and left a voicemail asking to discuss the issues mentioned in this review but I didn't get a call or even an email back. Not impressed. read more

I hired Pleasanton Rentals for linens, candelabras and candles for my wedding this past weekend. (Aug 2, 2014). I went out to my venue on Aug 1 for the rehearsal and dinner. The venue coordinator came up to me asking if I had purchased candles for my candelabras. I stated that they should have been delivered with the rest of the items from the rental company. I emailed Pleasanton Rentals right away, and immediately followed up with a phone call at 9:00am as soon as they opened on my wedding day to ensure they had plenty of time to deliver the candles. The first person on the phone stated the candles were not on my final invoice and they were too busy that day already and would not be ale to deliver the candles to my venue. I stated that I would pay whatever I needed to, if I was not charged I did not expect the candles for free, but I needed the candles delivered as it was for my wedding. I spent over $1600 between linens and candelabras and delivery fees and I felt as though the least that they could do was just deliver what I ordered. I wasn't getting anywhere so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager got on the phone was so unbelievably rude and non-accomodating I couldn't honestly believe it. It was my wedding day and I relied on this company to deliver goods and services that I had ordered. She wouldn't budge and told me to go to Michael's. I even sent her the quote I had received with the candles on it!! All she could say was "Well you should have checked your final invoice!!" I called my dad and he went to Michael's. Thankfully they had 100 votives in stock, and they were 1/3 of the price that Pleasanton Rentals wanted to charge. What was even more insulting is Lacey (the girl I had ordered everything through) emailed me at 10:30am asking if I still wanted the candles and if I wanted to pay for them and $75 delivery they would see if they could make it happen. Why was this not an option when I spoke to the manager and hour before?? She gave me no options as I begged her for help. The mistake was obviously when I added the candles Lacey never added them to the order. I understand that mistakes happen, what I don't understand or accept is the lack of customer service and the unwilligness to help. Just know, if you work with this company, and there is an unfortunate mistake-you are out of luck, and will have to figure it out on your own. Not a chance I would be willing to take on my wedding day. Find a different rental company who cares about you and your once in a lifetime day. These people flat out do not care!!!! read more

Pleasanton Rentals provided the furniture rentals for our wedding a few weeks ago at the Brazilian Room. I found working with their team before the event to be incredibly easy - they are responsive, pleasant to talk to, and always made sure I had an updates version of my contract. I think they have a fantastic document management system, because it all seems very easy to update on their end as well. My only hesitation to give 5 stars is that the delivery folks on the day-of were fairly confused despite having diagrams of the placement of all of the furniture. They also didn't seem to communicate well with the caterer (serving as the on-site coordinator) or the day-of coordinator, because they kept asking me questions once I arrived to finish getting ready. In fairness, I was out and about, chatting with the other vendors and saying hello, but I also wasn't really in a position to answer all their logistical questions either. At the end of the day, I would highly recommend Pleasanton Rentals - their furniture is high quality and their prices reasonable. Their in-office staff is fabulous. read more

My husband and I got married at the Palm Event Center in September, and our venue would not have looked as amazing as it did without the help of Pleasanton Rentals! The PEC listed them as one of their recommended vendors, and we're glad we chose them. Originally, we were just going to use the linens provided by the PEC, but I really wanted our reception to look amazing, and with our color scheme (plum and sage), the ivory/white tablecloths were just not gonna cut it! I called Pleasanton Rentals and made an appointment to check out their showroom. I met with Cherie, who was very friendly and helpful. She showed me different styles and looks, and explained the rental process to me. We ended up renting the table linens for the guest tables and head table, and it made the place look beautiful with the rest of our decor and lighting. What a disappointing experience for my wedding. Leading up the wedding I worked with one person who seemed great. I asked her to pick up on Wednesday and she told me that wasn't possible but Thursday was. The week before the wedding I confirmed the count of chargers and that I would like to pick up Thursday morning. I received an updated invoice which I took to indicate a confirmation of all things listed in my email. Unfortunately, when my dad arrived (after an hour drive from the city) to pick up Thursday they were not ready and wouldn't be until the end of the day or the next day. In order to have them at my wedding he had to make a second trip Friday morning. To make it worse Pleasanton made NO offer of a discount or to help with delivery. They weren't even willing to acknowledge the clear error on their part. Absolutely nothing. That is very poor customer service if you ask me. I would think twice before working with someone with such bad service and communication. read more

The help picking stuff out for my wedding was amazing. I had no complaints about Pleasanton party rentals until my wedding day. One of the easels was broke and there were 6 candles missing for candle holders we ordered (and not they type of candles you can just go and pick up). The biggest dissapointment was the chargers. We rented 300 and they looked like I bought them from someones trunk. All discolored, many chipped and severeal dozen stunk. I had a black tie formal wedding and this was a HUGE problem. I figured after the wedding I will call the company and explain what happened and there would be some sort of reimbursement- boy was I wrong!!! The owner told the woman who had been helping me that since we signed for all the items we were given the candles and the easel was brand new so there was no way it was broken. The best was the chargers- she actually had the nerve to say that I rented these type of chargers and that is their quality of the type of material, so it's my fault and there will be no reimbursement. WOW is all I could say! In the end I did get reimbursed for the easel but was told numerous times that it was not broken before it came to me and it was ordered for my wedding! The delivery guys were rush rush and abrupt. They were on time so that was nice. On pick up they were 2 hours late and the guy was extremely rude to my husband and the manager of the place we had our reception. I know several brides getting married in the next year and this is the one place I will tell them to stay away from--- bad bad bad customer service!!! read more

Horrible customer service!!!!!! As soon as I walked in, there were three reps at the front. All three ignored when I walked in. No hello, can I help you with anything? Nothing! Even on the way out they did not acknowledge me. I was one only customer there! One of them did say with a snobby attitude, "can I help you with anything cause we're closing". I mean, really? As far as I know, they are the ones working there. I'm the high powered professional they just ignored. Pleasanton Rentals helped us with some extras that we wanted for my daughter's wedding. The selection & displays are wonderful. The staff is very helpful if you have an appointment. They tend to be busy so walking in, especially on Saturday withut an appointment is proably not a great idea. We rented some wrought iron candelabras to use as centerpieces from Pleasanton Rentals for my daughters wedding to give some height to the room. The best part was they were not the type of centerpiece that blocked the view of people sitting at the table. The prices were reasonable & they worked regularly with the venue where we had the reception. Since our venue was also renting some items for our event from Pleasanton rentals, they were able to deliver & pick up everything along with teh order from our venue. This was a huge help & since our venue was paying for delivery of their items ours were ssent on the same order for no additional fee. We did not have to worry about the logistics of transporting "our add ons." Other items that were rented by our venue included chairs, a small sweetheart table, linens & market umbrellas. Everything looked great, except for 3 chairs that had ripped padded seats. We noticed that when we were decorating the chairs several hours before the event. My event planner at the venue was notified and she had that resolved by the time of the event so I assume it was handed easily. The selection is huge & prices seem to be compeditive. They do have some really nice specialty items that I have not seen at other party rentals. read more

I rented tables, chairs, linens and a portable bar through this Company for an anniversary party. The consultants in the show room were very helpful in coordinating everything and making suggestions for the linens. They were reasonably priced compared to other rental companies in the area and easy to deal with. My only complaint was that the chairs were slightly scratched up and the portable bar we rented was dirty when it was delivered so we had to do a little last minute clean up before the party started. read more

I wish I could say the same thing like others, this time around. I always used them for our annual event in town, despite of being expensive. (Under my partner name) This time Lacey helped me whom I found she has very dry personality, no smile, no hi, just asked me "what you would like to rent"....no explanation of how much each table and chairs are... I felt she was in rush just wants to close the deal and move on...(not that the store was busy) , any way.... This time I used them for my daughter's graduation. Beside tables and chairs, I got two coffee urns. On the night of our event when I start using the coffee urns, I noticed one of them is not working (the light did not come on and nor urn start warming up). So I thought it is Sunday they are close, I will tell them Monday when I return them. Today I went to returned them. A nice girl this time with warm welcome asked me how she can help me, so I her about my issue, she immediately responded, did you plug them in one outlet, is your outlet strong enough for two coffee urn, (something like 15 0r 50 volute power!!!.), I don't know about you guys but in my household I have TV, stereo, DVD and my lamp are all hood to one extension cord which is plug in to one wall outlet, and most of time two equipment are on at the same time. I am also sure that they use more voltage then two coffee urns. Then she said they have to test it in order to refund me, which I totally understand. But tell me first not after testing my intelligence. I am a return customer, I have used them before and now it is a first time I have a problem with equipment they don't believe me. It has been 5 hours that I have returned the coffee urns; no one called me or email me to let me know the result of the test they ran. I have used other party rental before such as Dublin rental, Livermore rental. They may not having the fancy show room but years ago when I rent chairs from Dublin rental, they missed count two chair, they did not tell me I was wrong and they credit me right there for two rental chair, not later. so, this would be my last time going there. read more

I live in Pleasanton so I stopped by to check this place out because it was convenient. I didn't have an appointment when I first went in since I was just interested in looking around and maybe asking basic questions. I realized later that I got completely lucky, because there was only one girl there when I went in and she turned out to be the best one. Another girl was recommeneded to us but upon subsequent visits always seemed to be annoyed and bothered. I ended up renting things from here because Erin was fantastic. I explained to her that even though I was planning a wedding I wasn't interested in all of the thrills and extras. She totally understood and helped give me ideas for the things I did want. I was very appreciative that she didn't sell me on stuff and she let me make decisions on my own, but she wasn't afraid to point out certain things or ideas that I hadn't thought about. Erin is very easy to work with and she obviously knows how to treat her customers like people. She kept me completely updated with emails anytime I called to tweak anything even if I was curious about something. If I ever need something in the future I would go back and see Erin. I arrived at this place 20 minutes before they closed, which was more than enough time for me because I only had a few questions that would take at most 5 minutes to answer. They only had two employees working and both were busy with customers so I looked around thinking that they would help me once they were unoccupied. I killed some time by looking around the store, and 20 minutes go by before the first employee is free. The employee walked towards me, and I'm thinking that she's coming over to help me. Instead, she walks up and abruptly tells me that they are closed now and informs me that I can come back the next day or look at their website. She says that they can't help me anymore because they need to "Shutdown The System". This is horrible customer service. It wasn't my fault that you only have two employees working and can't attend to all of your customers. I've been waiting here for 20 minutes to talk with someone, and now you're telling me that you can't help me because you took too long helping someone else. And to make it worse, you try to use the excuse that you need to "Shutdown The System" so that you don't have to help me. I'll just take my money to one of your competitors. read more

We rented table clothes and napkins for our wedding at Purple Orchid Inn on 10/10 from Pleasanton Rentals. They have some really nice quality items. After seeing the satin napkins and pin-tuck table clothes, it's hard to go back to standard cotton linen. At first I thought their prices were kind of high but I guess pretty standard for the industry. We rented our chair covers from another vendor for much cheaper, but I can definitely see that you pay for quality. I find their staff very helpful and responsive. At the end of the event when we were doing final inventory count, we noticed that the napkin total count was correct, but one of the napkins was a standard white cotton one, not the ivory satin ones we rented. Initially, Pleasanton Rentals charged us for the replacement cost of this napkin, but when we explained to them the wedding location told us that the rogue napkin was not theirs, Pleasanton Rentals waived their charge. They said it was possible that white and ivory napkins could have mixed together when they were packing them. I am very pleased with their customer service. read more
