We stayed at the embassy suites Dorado about 5 minutes from this spot. We met a friend at the resort who took us here for some food before heading out to San Juan got the night and we fell in love. The first day we came here we tried the ground beef alcapurrias which we're so good. The plantains were sweet and held together well. The ground beef filling was so flavorful. We also got the bacalao croquettes which were very different from The bacalittos I'm used to back in New York. They were almost like chips really crispy, but with a little chew to them. They were nice and hot. Lastly the ground beef and cheese pastelillos were the absolute best thing we got. We sent my dad back 2 days later to pick up lunch for us. This time we got the bacalao croquettes again, alcapurrias, but this time we got some stuffed with ground beef and some with dorado( mahi mahi). Lastly we got some more pastelillos, only this time we got steak and bacon ones. Everyone else liked the steak ones, but the bacon was such a thick cut of bacon and tasted so fresh I loved it. They serve everything with their own kind of pico or hot sauce. Only thing to keep in mind is that everything in this town closes a little early during the week days ( around 10pm) , so if you're planning for food be sure to go at a decent time. I'm already planning my next trip back and will definitely be back. read more
