Because I am an international student. he arrogantly assumed that I do not understand U.s. laws, and repeatedly acted in bad faith. By law, the landlord must return the security deposit within 21 days after move-out. However, he falsely claimed it would take 30 days, which is not legal. Regarding the deposit deductions, but he has never responded. Instead, he continues to ignore my requests and act however he wants. In the past several days, I have already been coordinating with him about the deposit return. But today, he suddenly insisted that only the "primary tenant" could communicate with him. I provided the primary tenant's contact imformation, yet he claimed he could not "verify" it, and he still made no effort to reach out to the primary tenant himself. I consider this to be intentional and malicious delay. This unprofessional and dismissive behavior caused me unnecessary stress and wasted time. If you are considering renting from this company or dealing with "Ante Trinidad", please be very careful. Update: After I posted my review, the landloard Ante Trinidad sent me an email directly threatening me with "libel charges" and even trying to intimidate me by mentioning my student visa status. Effects include reoccurring mold, constant fungus gnats, and structural decay in the flooring and framing. The estimates for repair are expensive, so only cosmetic repairs were ever performed. All of the issues in the unit and building continue to exist and will likely be sold to prospective renters without disclosure. Everything is available as LA County Dept. Public Health or Burbank Code Enforcement public record. While the company owner failed to maintain the implied warranty of habitability, he did raise rent by $300, introduce a $35 fee for online transactions, charge for estimated water usage, add chargebacks for repairs and ultimately evict me from the property.
