Classic, Consistent, and a Bar Experience That Stands Out Trey Yuen just feels established, warm lighting, polished wood, that timeless atmosphere that makes dinner feel like an occasion without being stuffy. We started with the crab rangoons, and they were spot on: golden and crispy with that creamy, slightly sweet filling that makes you reach for "just one more." Not greasy, not heavy, exactly how they should be. The Trey Yuen Special Steak absolutely delivered. Tender slices, perfectly cooked, coated in a rich, savory sauce that had depth without overpowering the meat. It felt like one of those signature dishes that's been refined over years. The Hunan chicken brought a balanced heat flavorful and slightly smoky with plenty of vegetables, not just spice for the sake of spice. It had that classic boldness without being overwhelming. But honestly? The bartender elevated the whole experience. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being over the top, and clearly experienced. Drinks were balanced, timely, and thoughtfully made, not rushed. It made sitting at the bar feel like the best seat in the house. That level of service makes a difference. The food was consistent and well-executed, but the hospitality is what will bring us back.

We had the opportunity to go into the restaurant and eat and after my last review of take out food I needed to update the review. First Trey Yuen is stunning to eat at the atmosphere inside is amazing. Our server was gracious and helpful in helping us pick our dishes and they were amazing. I had the Hot Pepper Chicken and if you like spice ask them to pump up the heat with extra chilis. My wife had the shrimp and they were beautiful. All the food was fresh and amazing even the spring rolls were so fresh. Tommy came out and sat with us and shared pictures and stories about his family and this was such a surprise and we loved it. Will I be going back?? Yes, again and again!!

We came for our 30th anniversary dinner and had a fabulous time. Most Chinese restaurants have become storefront, take-out places. Trey Yuen is what we call a "sit-down place" - you can actually sit down and eat like a real restaurant. Very nice, calm atmosphere. The koi pond outside, the decor inside, cloth tablecloths and napkins, heavy silverware, all are very nice. Made for a great experience overall. Our server Amir was friendly and answered all our questions. He was very efficient and took good care of us without hovering over us constantly. The owner/chef came by our table a couple of times to check on us. Also very friendly and welcoming. I was impressed beyond words with the pot stickers! I have had a million of them over the years and these really stand out. They are larger and stuffed fuller than I usually find. I complimented the chef when he came around and he said "Those are hand made. They don't come from Sam's."

Celebrated a great Father's Day with my husband and his adult kids. Nathan at the bar served fun cocktails with great conversation while we waited for them to arrive. Our waiter, Amir, set a table up for us in advance. He gave us the best service. So friendly and personable. This restaurant got so busy with huge tables and he still multitasked so well. We did get there for noon so we beat the crowd by a little. The food is always so good and the portions too large but perfect for leftovers! We started off with the Trey Yuen Platter with extra crabmeat Rangoon. The pecan honey chicken and pecan honey shrimp are kids' favorites, along with special fried rice and General Tso chicken too. They didn't have egg foo young this day (my husband's favorite), so he had the eggplant seafood special. I had the cashew chicken with extra cashews. Great value for sure, because you get at least two meals and a great time with family. The hostess in the beginning was so friendly and ensured we had a table for 6. The entire staff members are professionals. They aim to please.

There must be new management or a new chef Trey Yuen in Mandeville because the food is much better than it was the last time I was there which was over a year ago. The service was very good all in all I got four out of five stars this time.

My mom and I came in Friday for lunch. This was my first time backorder Trey Yuen in at least 10 years. I informed the waitress I'm gluten intolerant, and there were several options to choose from. I opted for the steamed shrimp in lobster sauce (I was under the impression it was a white base and not brown). When they brought my food, there were wontons on top of the rice. I thought they were gluten free, and after one, the waitress came by to check on our food and told me not to eat it. Oops. (I paid for that mistake the following day.) There was also a spice or something in the brown sauce that didn't sit well with my mom or me. She had a brown-based dish as well, so we assume it was something in the sauce. All of that said, I'd still come back with a little more caution to my gluten issue (and I'd bring digestive enzymes). I'm happy to report their egg-flower (basically egg drop) soup is gluten free. The restaurant itself is beautiful with traditional decor and coy ponds. It's looked the same for at least 20 years.

Great Chinese food! We love the Wor wonton soup and the King Do pork. The dining rooms are very pretty and the service was great.

We had dinner there last Saturday. The food is the usual Chinese. I don't know if they have a secret menu but they need an update.

The hot and sour soup was not like it normally is. Maybe a new chef. Entree was good. Will try again

Not as good as I thought it would be. Crab Rangoon was good as was the hunan chicken. But the seafood medley was meh.

Best Chinese is the entire metro area. Combination Lo Mein, crawfish and lobster sauce, crab Rangoon, and spicy beef are all classic.
