My high hopes for this beautiful restaurant located in a large Chinese pagoda were quickly dashed when I realized that most of the food was either semi-traditional or not traditional at all. I went with four other people so we ordered the family set which consisted of soup, egg rolls and four entrees to share. The egg drop soup that I selected was tasty enough but the various entrees left much to be desired. There was very little meat in the chicken lo mein and the cooked vegetables were greasy and underwhelming. Generally speaking, ALL of the dishes were greasy and synonymous in flavor. I expected the entrees to have a variety of flavor combinations authentic to the various regions of China but everything was covered in the same greasy brown sauce. We may have just ordered the wrong things but our first impression was not a good one. One highlight was that the waitstaff was very attentive and kind and the dishes did not take too long to arrive at our table. 4/10, I would try it again only if the tea duck is still on the menu!

We had the opportunity to go into the restaurant and eat and after my last review of take out food I needed to update the review. First Trey Yuen is stunning to eat at the atmosphere inside is amazing. Our server was gracious and helpful in helping us pick our dishes and they were amazing. I had the Hot Pepper Chicken and if you like spice ask them to pump up the heat with extra chilis. My wife had the shrimp and they were beautiful. All the food was fresh and amazing even the spring rolls were so fresh. Tommy came out and sat with us and shared pictures and stories about his family and this was such a surprise and we loved it. Will I be going back?? Yes, again and again!!

Celebrated a great Father's Day with my husband and his adult kids. Nathan at the bar served fun cocktails with great conversation while we waited for them to arrive. Our waiter, Amir, set a table up for us in advance. He gave us the best service. So friendly and personable. This restaurant got so busy with huge tables and he still multitasked so well. We did get there for noon so we beat the crowd by a little. The food is always so good and the portions too large but perfect for leftovers! We started off with the Trey Yuen Platter with extra crabmeat Rangoon. The pecan honey chicken and pecan honey shrimp are kids' favorites, along with special fried rice and General Tso chicken too. They didn't have egg foo young this day (my husband's favorite), so he had the eggplant seafood special. I had the cashew chicken with extra cashews. Great value for sure, because you get at least two meals and a great time with family. The hostess in the beginning was so friendly and ensured we had a table for 6. The entire staff members are professionals. They aim to please.

We came for our 30th anniversary dinner and had a fabulous time. Most Chinese restaurants have become storefront, take-out places. Trey Yuen is what we call a "sit-down place" - you can actually sit down and eat like a real restaurant. Very nice, calm atmosphere. The koi pond outside, the decor inside, cloth tablecloths and napkins, heavy silverware, all are very nice. Made for a great experience overall. Our server Amir was friendly and answered all our questions. He was very efficient and took good care of us without hovering over us constantly. The owner/chef came by our table a couple of times to check on us. Also very friendly and welcoming. I was impressed beyond words with the pot stickers! I have had a million of them over the years and these really stand out. They are larger and stuffed fuller than I usually find. I complimented the chef when he came around and he said "Those are hand made. They don't come from Sam's."

There must be new management or a new chef Trey Yuen in Mandeville because the food is much better than it was the last time I was there which was over a year ago. The service was very good all in all I got four out of five stars this time.

So disappointing. Growing up people would drive for miles to eat here. Not sure if they are cutting quality but not going back.

It's been quite a while since I've been in here, but my friends all tell me I gotta come back...and…read morethe one I had dinner with tonight insisted on it! My buddy and his wife asked me out to dine - I had my heart set on some pho, but when I got here, I had a hankering for vermicelli. I like mine with egg roll AND grilled pork - if you haven't done it, do it - for real. The presentation was different from what I was used to - a flatter, wider bowl, the pork thin sliced, almost julienned, but everything was fresh - crunchy where it was supposed to be, hot and charred/fried when needed, and it really hit the spot. Fish sauce and a generous serving of sriracha, and I was home. Steve's wife got the dumplings, and he had a giant plate of something or other with soup, but he also polished off some of Alicia's food while we were there. I remember this dude from college - I was the fat kid, but I sure couldn't hang with this dude's stomach! Our server was so super awesome and cute, but I forgot to get her name. She couldn't say Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio, but neither could I, so there. Very attentive, got our food out hot and delicious, and was a wonderful host. If you're hankering for some Vietnamese or Chinese food, but can't decide - here's your sign! Seriously, though - excellent food, terrific service, amazing company, and a full belly made for the perfect night. Can't wait to see where you pick next, my friend!

That was the most bland Chinese dish I have ever eaten in my entire life. Oops sorry I didn't eat…read moreit. I'll take it home and feed it to my dog.
