I was dragging my feet when it came to replacing the passenger side door speaker in my sister's Kia. While casually bringing it up in conversation with my cousin he quickly responded "Why don't you call Mike?! Everyone knows Mike!" I however, did not know Mike lol. Now I do and now I indeed know why everyone SHOULD know Mike. A true master of his craft and with all the years he's been in business he is still passionate and advancing his knowledge to hone his craft. My job was no doubt small and perceivably easy, but it was the knowledge I gained and genuine exchange I had with Mike. An overall good guy and straight shooter, he listened to my needs, laid out my options and then gave me his input where needed. He did not try to upsell me, and he gave me a beyond fair price. Had me in and out in now time. I am a huge advocate for supporting local businesses especially those that have been mainstays in the Bay Area, these businesses are a last of a dying breed and we are fortunate to have such a high quality business still around. Mike called me a day after installation to make sure I was still satisfied with the speaker. I told him it made a world of difference, now let's hope my sister doesn't blow another one lol. I had him stall an Apple car play into my dash, could not get the music through my new Apple car play, to my amp. I had to take my car to another shop to find out he destroyed the audio harness!!! Pinched a bunch of wires... I had him install a trunk style back up camera, now I can't even open my trunk!!! I won't give him one star!! If you read this review which I hope you do to save yourself a lot of pain, he obviously doesn't know what he's doing he had my car for 12hrs which was suppose to be a 4 hr job. I was a regular customer of Soundwave for a long time but I was surprised to find that they went out of business. With a bad Pioneer radio that Soundwave installed 5 years ago I had to find a new place. My friend started to look around and found Tri Audio Sound and I happen to be right downt the street. I ended up with a unit that was priced right but it just didn't work very well, I told Mike that it had issues. He was completely understanding and agreed that it wasn't accepable. He ordered a new Apline unit that was way better and did an install on an agreed time/day. Mike is a great guy and I saw several other installs that he did, including a complete overhaul install on my friends 06' Porche boxster and it was clean and good. Wow, how I would love to have given a small business owner a stellar review....alas I cannot. I brought my car in for work by Mike (actually a very nice guy), I picked the place because it was solidly reviewed on yelp and was not a ton of teenagers at BestBuy. Mike did an initial install, ran into a few issues and he kindly offered to fix the issues (stereo kept shutting off). Unfortunately this meant that he had to re-run wire throughout (instead of using existing wiring). This is where his work became shotty and is obvious he was lazy. He didn't properly route the cables, which resulted in cables being cut/pinched when I used my parking brake. The wire runs between the frame and the door were not included in the protective boot, thus they get pinched when the door opens and closes. He did not put the door panels back on properly, resulting in the panels half falling off. The mess of wires behind the stereo would make a rat proud. If you want someone who is going to do nice wire management, put your car back the way you had it, and leave you with the car better than you started.....go elsewhere. read more

First piece of advice I can give you about Tri-Audio is don't judge a book by it's cover. I called one afternoon and left a voice mail saying my daughters' Xterra had a Kenwood Deck with Bluetooth that just stopped working. Mike called me back the next day and gave me his cell number and said he'd take a look at it. He said to call him after 11:00 and I could bring it by one afternoon. I took the car in a couple of days later and he said he wanted to check the fuses. He gave me a fair price to troubleshoot it. There were 4 sets of fuses! One by glovebox. Two under the hood and one behind the deck in the dash. So he checked all but the one behind the dash and they were all good. He said I could wait or leave the car as it would take him about an hour to pull the console and check the last fuse. He remarked if the last fuse was good then the deck was probably bad and needed replacement but he'd work the troubleshooting fee into the price of the new deck. I left the car and pretty much resigned myself that we'd probably need to replace the deck. To my pleasant surprise when I returned he said that last fuse was bad so he replaced it and it was good to go. I was shocked! The honesty is what I appreciated the most. Another shop could have used the opportunity to sell and install a new deck. But he didn't do that. The second thing is that Mike knows his shit. He knew the electrical layout of the Xterra and he had a lot of knowledge about his new products including the speakers. I would recommend Tri-Audio to anyone replacing their audio video and especially if you have problems with your current system to troubleshoot!! He has over 30 years of experience. read more

Mike is truly one of a kind. I couldn't be more happy with the level of service he provided me and two other of my close friends. After reaching out to multiple businesses Mike had quoted me the lowest price, so naturally I had to pick him. I brought in my 2019 Avalon and he was very upfront with the expectation about working with a 2019 vehicle. That day not only Mike beat his time estimate, he also stayed later to get my car taken care of. It was perfect, not a hitch in the system or anything.
