I'm very happy with Auto Sound Performance, so much so that I'm now a repeat customer. When the on-off switch on my Fiesta's factory stereo began malfunctioning, I determined the only fix was to replace the head unit. This would have cost a fortune at my local Ford dealership, but a guy in the parts department told me I could trust Auto Sound Performance to do an aftermarket install, and he was correct! A 2011 Fiesta is a somewhat tricky thing, because the factory head unit lives inside a really weird, proprietary dash board housing. But service writer Axel and owner Andrew knew just what to do, in terms of sourcing an adapter that allowed them to install a "floating" touch screen in my car. Axel and Andrew were very sensitive to my comfort level regarding the cost of this job, and this is important to note: I'm sure most people who come to an aftermarket stereo and electronics shop are looking to drop big money on a "system" that can make the pavement ripple, but all I needed was a mild upgrade that would fit within a specific budget. And Auto Sound Performance delivered! My original goal had just been to replace my malfunctioning factory head unit so it would stop turning itself on and draining the battery while the car was parked. What I got was a fully modern touch screen stereo with new speakers and a back-up camera, for a very reasonable price. And the sound quality in my car is now off the charts! Suddenly I can hear nuance and beauty in every piece of music I listen to, and, at long last, when I play an audiobook, I can actually hear it without having to crank the volume all the way up. However, I went here twice where I left notes of what I wanted, spoke with the installer and left my cell #. No call backs both times. The person who schedules, "Andrew" --if he even exists-- seems like he is never there. I don't know how they get these cars in but I guess you have to know them or someone, or I guess they don't want my business. I also just called to follow up. Special thanks to Andrew, Kyle, & Beto (sp?) who turned my dream car into my DREAM car! I recently purchased a cute older Mercedes SLK, perfect in every way unless you're an audiophile. The factory stereo had no USB or bluetooth so I couldn't connect it to my phone, and the 9 factory speakers in the car were serious weak sauce. Plus while a cd changer was cool back in the day, I had no use for one and instead wanted it out of my glove compartment. I explained to the folks at Auto Sound Performance what I wanted - full immersive sound, USB connection for my phone, a stereo that still had a CD player, and free my glove compartment up. The parts took a while to come in cause #pandemic and #supply chain shortages, but months later I got the call that parts were in. I scheduled an appointment to go in, and...well... the actual replacement took a little longer than expected. I was without my car over a weekend plus another full day. But hey, every car is different. It's sometimes hard to predict. Besides, it's the end result that's what matters, and oh - oh my, did they deliver!!! When I sat in my car and tested the sound out with various tunes, I let out several squeals. The stereo and new speakers sound AMAZING!!! And - I have more storage space now - glovebox is freed up and there's also space under the stereo unit now where I can put my phone or cables. Been sitting on this review for awhile, folks here know there stuff, came in for a quote for 2 subs and walked away with 2 custom boxes made flush into the trunk. At the time of install JL's were out of my budget so I stuck with a brand I still trust to this day... 2 MTX 12's premium set, promised install was 3 business days, install was completed in 5 business days, when creating custom boxes the glue that bonds the boxes needs to dry before they can be set in place, since Daly City is always known to be sunny, (nickname = fogtown) so the drying process took longer then expected, I did call daily after the 3rd day, they were very responsive and stated where they were in regards to the install. Once completed I was called and told to come out and test my new beat. Workmanship was better the average the beat was good, I was happy with the install. Tested the beat before I left everything was in good standing. So year or so goes by and one of the brake lights go out, I then notice the custom boxes does push up on the levers to get to the brake light compartments. Something you will need to ask the installer if you go with custom boxes is how to remove them if something needs to be accessed. I called and was told to come by, they did show me how to remove them, replaced the bulbs and reinstalled the custom boxes. I don't like writing bad reviews about businesses but the accumulation of errors here just leaves me scratching my head. Since I've been patronizing the shop, there have been two owners. I'll address each issue with each owner. Back in 2018, I brought my car in to have an engine modification done. This modification included the installation of a new serpentine belt on the engine. When I went to pick the vehicle up, they were just bringing my car out of the garage and I noticed a squeal, like a loose belt. I mentioned it to the owner, and he said, basically, that I was hearing things. As I left with the car, I could hear the belt squealing, but I continue to drive at home. I came back about a week later and they changed the belt. I suggested a belt wrap kit so that the belt would fit tighter and the owner said he had done tons of cars like mine without a belt wrap kit, and suggested it did not need one. Additionally, on the receipt, he put down the wrong size equipment on the vehicle, which I did not notice until much later... Just a bad experience with the original owner. Since they had worked on my car, intimately, I thought I would try again to have the same work done. I learned that they had changed ownership and was encouraged. Basically, all I wanted was the same work previously done, but with a belt wrap kit. The new owner told me the price for the work, and that it would require a 50% deposit to order parts, after which they could put me on the schedule. I agreed and sent them a check. However, after three weeks, they said they had not received the check in the mail. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise, as I ended up finding a certified mechanic closer that charged less and did an excellent job first time around. No problems no hassles. I'm way happier with my new mechanic and hopefully the guys here can turn it around. read more

I bought my car in a month ago to have a light replaced and back lights to be rewired. About a week after I got stuck on bay bridge and all the sudden my temperature gauge went sky rocket. Twice it happened. I bought my car into Toyota for a checkup to see what's going on and to find out that the fan wasn't working at all and one of the fuse was missing. The last time I had some work done on my car was about 2 1/2 years ago at HID in SJ until a month ago when I came here. I called Andrew and explained what has happened but he didn't accept that it was their fault for the missing fuse. Yes, I had some work done on my car and had no problem whatsoever until I bought my car here. For some reason they were working in the fuse box but then I thought maybe they are doing something I don't know so I didn't say anything but now, they are denying they didn't touch the fuse box. Ridiculous!! The guy that work on my car didn't even remember me or my car but the manager did. So with the checkup at Toyota it cost $195 and auto sounds deny reimbursement. Andrew think maybe Toyota said the fuse is missing when it wasn't but the fan happens to stopped all the sudden right? Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL. The light in front of the car needed to be replaced and I had an extra light so all u needed to do was to unhooked the wire from the ballets and connect them together and for the bottom light on the back bumper, I just needed to connect the wires to the brake light and the wires for that was already there and I got charged $290. Ridiculous!!!!!!! Front light shouldn't take more than 20 minutes and the back lights shouldn't take more than 30 minutes but I got charged for 2 hours. All the wires are already there to be connected. I didn't want to do this so I didn't mind paying for someone to do it but getting charged like that is ridiculous. Definitely not coming back here ever again. If u don't mind taking a little drive down to SJ, check out HID. John will take care of you. That place is always busy and it's a nice clean place. BTW.. when the guy took one of the back light out and then put it back in, it wasn't flushed and I told him and he says it's normal. Please!! The manager walked by and saw and told him to reopen it and see and the rubber was in the way so that why it wasn't flushed. The rubber on the edge of the driver side was pulled out and wasn't put back probably till I told him. When the temperature gauge sky rocket I tried to open the hood to see if the coolant was low but I couldn't open the hood cuz when he replaced the front light he never snap back the front piece of plastic so it got stuck. It took me almost 20 minutes just to open the damn hood. Totally unprofessional!!!!! Picture was taken before it went all the way up. read more

So let me start out by saying this review is long long overdue. A couple trucks back I had it in the body shop and wanted to get a sound system for it. I asked the body shop owners if they knew anyone who did quality sound work. They sent me here to ASP. There are a lot of sound folks out there and thank god they sent me to Andrew and the guys at ASP. I came in with a small budget but wanted big sound, not just big sound but CRISP big loud sound. Andrew sat me down and said "look, to have what you want would be rather expensive" So he walked me through four different options that were within my budget. Not only were they easy to work with, they did quality work. The install was fast and done right. I drove out of their shop extremely happy. That was truck 1... Since truck 1, my budget has gotten a little higher and my sound system has gotten a little louder. I'm in the process of building out my 4th truck (being built by RAM, and for you truck geeks it's the one with 702 horsepower). For extra it comes with 19 speaker Harman Kardon system. But I didn't opt for that because I knew it wouldn't compete with an ASP sound system. Just recently, cause I'm tough on my trucks, I had a wire wiggle loose due to the fact that I kept throwing stuff too close to my amp. I called down to Andrew at ASP he had me pull it right in and his excellent staff took care of it on the spot. If you're in the market for a bada** sound system, lights, and/or accessories (for your car or truck), call the cool people who do quality work that I HIGHLY recommend...ASP. Was having a speaker start making some static noise and the original head unit on my Ram was going out. Took it over to ASP and Drew found it was a faulty RCA cable. Talked for a minute about decks and I'm thinking Alpine, Pioneer (what I use to go with years ago). He showed me Stinger had one for RAM popped out a bit and was hesitant but looked at it and loved the features. Dropped it off and got it back same day. So many features on it, reads all the temps for the vehicle so you know different vehicle performance specs, has apple car play!!!!! USB/hdmi cable and soooooooo much more. Tuned and sounds amazing. This is a car shop that I personally love to go to when I want work done on any of my vehicles. ASP is a small shop located in Daly City, not to far from Colma Bart. This is one of the more popular go to shops for all you're aftermarket needs. Because it's extremely popular my advice is to stop by an make an appointment. It allows you to meet the great staff there like: Vlad, Trevor and Ray (who does most, if not all of the electronics). Vlad is the owner and my go to person for anything that I need. He will always make you feel welcomed and has no problem answering any questions that you may have. He also takes time to try and educate people about their vehicles and the parts going into them. Something most shops won't do anymore because (in their eyes) it's to time consuming. Vlad's friendly & honest when it comes to the products and services that his shop provides. All the guys there care about creating a fun and relaxed environment at the shop which makes customers feel welcomed. Unfortunately, This shop is small so the maximum amount of cars they can work on at one time is three. Which can become a downside when you want work done but don't have the ability to wait or you're just anxious to get it taken care of. That's why I recommended making an appointment. It makes things so much easier for people new to this shop. Another downside is there is not enough workers for the amount of business they do daily. If you can be patient then they will always help you out. But for those who are not you may want to reconsider a different way to handle things. This is a great place to go to if you want a shop that does great work and charges you a reasonable amount for it. They don't try to screw you over with high-cost and bad services.
