One either has a consistently good experience or the other. Mine have all been great, from purchase to service. I was not in the market for an Outback, yet my 6' 1" frame was not fitting in the newer SUV driver wells as I had in my 2010 Ford Escape, not even the Forester. That's when Craig Enslin approached me about an Outback. He asked a few qualifying questions about 2021s versus older used models. He then drove up a beauty of a previous TriCity Sales customer 2017 Outback used car with 27K miles. It was pristine inside and out with not even front hood road chips. I took a drive and fell for the car; their final price and the trade-in on my Escape made it spectacular! Forward to my first free oil change and inspection. Perfect! Now I wanted to add Starlink Service. They did the 3G to 5G upgrade - No Charge as a goodwill courtesy. I don't get goodwill out of most car dealers these days, yet I did here! Great prices on car deals and for service deals but...they sure don't give you the customer service of other Subaru dealerships Service of OFL and tire rotation completed to satisfaction. Just wondering if it's just Tri-City, but of the 3 Subaru's I've owned the dealers always washed the car (or gave you a voucher for a wash) and vacuumed the car. I was disappointed that it washed washed or vacuumed When I took delivery of my car in April it was not washed or vacuumed of pet hair (my car was a CPO dealer loaner...still don't know why pet hair was in it‍). read more

Recently ran the "Lucky Triple Diamonds Game" campaign whose sole purpose was to deceive people into thinking they won a large cash prize, only for the person to show up and be told they instead only won $5. Nothing but a sleight of hand marketing campaign to get unsuspecting people in the door to sell them a car nobody wants. If you can't trust a simple marketing campaign of theirs, why would you ever trust them with a significant financial decision like purchasing a car. Terrible, unknowledgeable and unprofessional staff. I brought my Subaru I had purchased from them in because a check engine light was on. I had checked the code reading before bringing it in and knew what was wrong with it, I told them when I dropped it off. They then proceeded to keep it for over a week, I called often and on the occasions that anyone picked up they didn't have any updates. When they finally told me to come back in to pick it up they told me what was wrong with it, which was the same thing I had already told them the week prior, and then they try to charge me nearly $200 in a diagnostic fee. When I argued this they became very unprofessional and told me to never come back there again. AVOID THIS STEALERSHIP AT ALL COST. read more

When a warning light came on - she immediately brought her car in. It turned out to be the transmission - OUCH! I just had one of the best experiences of my car owning life. The passenger side view mirror of my 2021 Legacy had been sideswiped, and a trim piece had been torn off. I ordered a replacement as I thought I could fix it myself. When I realized I wasn't going to do the D.I.Y. route, I made an appointment at Tri City Subaru to have it fixed the right way. When I arrived and explained what had happened, and how I needed to have the trim piece installed professionally, the service advisor, got a screwdriver, went out to my car, and fixed it in 10 minutes with the new trim piece I had given her. I bought my Subaru Acent barely a year ago. The rear hatch will not close. It's been a constant issue. One time, I reset the battery, and it started working again, but you van Google a wiflde array of issues they seem to have with this auto assist closing door. There is a slight push in/dent from my hand, which i pushed back out, trying to get it to latch over and over again. When I brought it in to get help. They told my wife she needed to leave and file an insurance claim. The front desk lady said the small dent is the reason the mechanism won't work. I spoke to the manager and explained to him that the exterior of the dent does not touch the mechanism. He didn't care. Even with the trap door open so you can see in, he didn't care and got upset with me for having a problem with what they were saying the issue was. No issue if they had tried to look at the mechanism but to just tell my wife to file an insurance claim and leave it. It is so unprofessional that it blows my mind. I've heard nothing but horror stories about this place. From mechanics that work there to clients. I will be going to Subaru of Saco from now on where they employ trustworthy, decent folks. It took 2 visits to confirm all the stories I heard. If you choose to use these scum bags, I warned you. read more

It is a real pleasure to write this review regarding our recent purchase of a Subaru Crosstrek at Tri City Subaru in Somersworth, NH. As we entered the showroom we were greeted by Brian Santos, a member of the sales team.  From our first encounter, he was kind, professional and clearly interested in what "we" were looking for in a new auto...not what he wanted to sell us.  We are older and have purchased many cars over the years, but this was by far the "BEST" and least stressful of all our purchases.  Brian not only exceeded our expectations, he went out of his way to be sure we understood everything we needed to know about the car.  He did so with a smile and a real sense that he was listening to us, not just pretending in order to get a sale. We realized that there would be a wait until the new cars were available but he kept us in the loop until one came, to our surprise sooner than we thought.  We also had only positive experiences with others in the dealership along the way to our purchase.  There was no pressure and only "our" best interest and satisfaction, their concern. Didn't buy my subaru here. But subaru had a recall so I scheduled an appt here. A month later my car is shaking like crazy and it was loud and I thought the motor was falling out. Towed the car to my regular guy -scott at Doug's towing in rochester- and to his complete bewilderment- my two front tires were barely hanging on by a thread. Literally. Tri city DIDNT properly torque my lugs when they did my recall service. Holy crap I could have died seeing I drive 120 miles a day. Don't ever use this place. A complete joke. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My parents purchased a vehicle from here a little over 2 months ago and had a GREAT experience. My parents are hard to please, so I thought it MUST be a great place to buy a car. Two weeks ago, we walked in the dealership, a man came up to us and asked if he could help us with anything. We told him what we were looking for and the price range we'd like to be in. He took us to his desk, talked a little bit about the Impreza, said he'd go get one for us to test drive and then he left us sitting there. Not once did he tell us his name, or ask ours. He almost seemed annoyed that we were there. As he was bringing the car up to the door, a huge thunderstorm rolled in with torrential downpours. (We never got to drive the car) He came in, sat down and we wanted to talk numbers. We told him what we wanted again and the price range, again, that we needed to be in. He went to "run the numbers" and came back with a VERY high number for a monthly payment, we told him there was no way, and he seemed annoyed like how dare we say no to his numbers. He left and came back with still a very large number, maybe $5 less than the last number. Again, we said no, he then said there was nothing else he could do but he'd call us if "something miraculous happens to our pricing" The man was lacking all basic customer service skills, and he was slightly socially awkward, he wouldn't even really look at us, just kept looking at his computer screen while talking to us. He was also very unwilling to help meet our needs at all, I wasn't asking for a $100 car payment, but I was definitely looking for something NOT in the mid-high $300s, if I had been purchasing an SUV I would have completely understood the high price. I'm not sure if everyone at this dealership is as unfriendly as he is, but I can assure you I'll never go back to find out! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! I called yesterday because I was interested in purchasing a 2017 Forester and was informed that the owner was joyriding in it so it would have to be cleaned. I was then informed that I had to schedule on appointment since they aren't accepting walk-ins. I explained to the Sales rep that I was recently injured in the line of duty and was having a problem driving my wrx(which I purchased there) and needed something with an automatic and taller. Today while driving there I received a text that the car was no longer available. When I called the rep she told me a walk-in purchased it earlier today. After calling attempting to talk to a "manager" the first person had no clue what was happening at the dealership and then rudely put me on hold for an extended period. Another manger called me back and said they are exempt from keeping their word because they are just a "car dealership". I'm not sure if it because I'm retired law enforcement or disabled they decided to treat me this poorly but I will never buy another Subaru or bring my car there for service. I recommend that everyone stays away from this place because I don't know how they might discriminate against you. read more

Craig was awesome setting up multiple test drives of the vehicles. He explained the various features of the car, that I had done plenty of research on, but not fully as it turns out. Even though the sales floor was busy with many customers, he still was able to give me the attention I needed to complete the deal. The only good experience I ever had here was buying my car since then they have always over priced and can't even do a simple oil change. I appreciate that Mike took the time to help me select a car that fit my needs the best. They offered me a solid price on my old car and it was nice to be able to leave the same day with the new car, although if you read below I'm pretty sure they just slapped a sticker on it and called it good. Mike went above and beyond for the sale and knowing I had to take the car the same day, was able to schedule sunroof installation for me while I went on a vacation. There were a lot downfalls of this purchase. First is that before I had signed the papers I had asked someone else about fluids, windshield wiper blades, and just making sure everything was stocked and set in the car, and they reassured me that every car goes through a thorough check. Later on that day I opened up the hood to find that there wasn't much coolant at all inside. I hadn't driven my car in 3+ hours and the car engine was still Very hot. The coolant was below the "low" line. I was definitely disappointed and went back the next morning. The servicemen were kind and filled the coolant and said that it was uncommon because cars do go through checks before they are sold. They also offered me a free oil change for the inconvenience. That was very kind but it still leaves me with a little doubt that maybe not everything was checked. I drove my car to California and it has never seen salt since I have owned the car (may 2017- now its January 2018 - 8 months later- still under 60k miles)I started hearing winding noises from the rear of the car and brought it into a Subaru dealership out here. They told me they had to replace the wheel bearing. While they were replacing it I got a call and they told me that the car was so rusted out they could not remove the parts they needed to and it had to stay for an extra week until they got the part. They told me it took 6 hours to remove the wheel bearing (something that should happen in less than a half hour). This car is only just 4 years old and they told me it had "excessive rust". I've only owned the car since last may and being in California there's no salt or snow. I thought to myself, how could this have rusted so much? It had to have come with the rust to begin with. I bought the car with excessive rust. Now I'm still paying off a car that's not even really safe to drive. And to top it off, I bought it for a higher price than it was listed on Kelley blue book. Not going to recommend this place to anyone anymore. I was for sure ripped off on a same day sale. ALSO don't buy their extended warranty. Apparently it's not a "Subaru certified" warranty and Subaru of America will not help you. I let them know I was planning on moving to CA and Subaru of America doesn't help people in CA due to some kind of law that sounds made up and no one had bothered to mention this to me. But Subaru of America did tell me that the best force of action for this was to take legal action. read more

I was having my car inspected and was told I needed an oil change, I refused the oil change as the recommended mileage between our changes had not occurred. Oddly enough, after leaving, my oil light came on. I added a quart of oil. Never before and never since has this occurred. I will never use their service department again. read more

Today I noticed that I had a weird light on my dashboard which signified some type of problem that needed to be addressed. I can never find anything in the manual, so I just stopped into Tri-City Subaru because I was nearby. They knew right away it signified that my tire pressure was low. It was 90 degrees out and after a 10 hour day at work, I loaded my very tired body into my car to drive home. The car had been sitting in a parking lot with direct sun all day. For the first time in several months, I decided it would be a good idea to run the AC. Despite my efforts to make it blow cool air, it only blew back warm air. I arrived home and called Tri city right away. To my delight, they told me that I can come in right away even though they did not have space for an appointment, reassuring me that they will look at it in between other appointments. In the meantime, I could get a loaner car. Everything was dealt with so quickly and efficiently and before I knew it, I was driving away in a loaner car feeling confident that my car problems will be solved soon. Even with me forgetting to bring all the appropriate papers to secure the loaner, they allowed me to drive off with the promise that I send the info that they needed as soon as I returned home (which I did ). They assessed the problem early the following day and, because of the efforts of the service department, the repairs will be covered. I am very grateful for the efforts made by the service department to find a way to help me with what should have been a very expensive repair. Great service always from Tri City Subaru! read more

I bought my Forester in AZ and was told I need to use synthetic oil good new was only need it changed every 6,000 miles I brought my car into Tri City and noticed they recommended 3,000 miles I did a little research. I did email Subaru and got this reply " Our maintenance recommendations are found in the 2015 "Warranty and Maintenance" booklet. We recommend maintenance services every 6,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Subaru retailers often have maintenance services that differ from ours. Some recommend more frequent maintenance services and others recommend services in addition to ours. Those recommendations are based upon their experiences, climate, etc. " SO what they are telling me is that id a dealership can get you to spend more money then all is good for now on I will get my oil changed at PROMTO they are quick and do a good jobe cheaper and will not ask me to come back every 3,000 miles rather loose that money at a Casino either way I am just giving it away. read more
