The salesman Ben was a pleasure to work with. No high pressure bull crap, just quick answers to all my initial questions with no foxy pauses to consult with the manager or finance team. I felt like I was working with a neighbor and that he was on my side. I even decided to consider a second vehicle mid-negotiations and Ben was great about it and listened carefully to my concerns that I was worried about a 2-wheel drive car in New England winters. We landed on the Sonata and I took it for a test drive. My initial impressions of the car were very high. But 4 days and 400 miles later I am in love with the car. I have been fortunate enough to own many expensive vehicles in my lifetime including the truck I also presently own which is a high luxury vehicle costing over 3 times the price of my Sonata. I can say so far that at any price the Sonata is one of the most comfortable and best performing vehicles I have owned. It is very futuristic. The interior especially feels like a gaming cockpit and the seats are as comfortable as any expensive gaming chair. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I will update this review as the years go by to further expand on my experience but so far I could not be happier with my 2025 Hyundai Sonata and the entire team at McFarland Hyundai

I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Mercedes-Benz Portsmouth, where I purchased my GLE as…read morea Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in February 2025. I do have to say, during the buying process, everyone I dealt with was solid. They were quick to respond and made the process easy for someone purchasing out of state. At the same time, I guess this is what any good salesperson does trying to close a deal. About 2 months after my purchase, my engine light came on. What I thought would have been a simple reset has turned into a complete nightmare. I took the car to my local Mercedes Benz service center and they revealed AdBlue in the coolant system--a diesel fluid not used in gas cars. What?! The total cost to repair this ended up being over $3,500 (replacing coolant reservoir, temperature sensors, both coolant pumps, the thermostat and the changeover valve). I have driven the car less than 5,000 miles and literally have not even opened the hood of the car. Research online (Benzworld.org) states that it would take AdBlue anywhere from 3,000-6,000 miles to cause the type of corrosion in my vehicle. This fits the exact timeline of my vehicle. The worst part is they tried to say that I am responsible for putting the substance in the car, which voids my warranty. I wouldn't be surprised if they respond to this review and continue to deflect responsibility. I have never in my life owned a diesel car or even heard of AdBlue until this debacle. The car was never serviced by anyone else during my ownership, indicating it was present at the time of purchase and missed during the CPO process. This accusation is not only baseless but insulting, as it shifts blame onto me for their oversight. While they provided me the necessary documents to submit the dispute, they refused to take responsibility, leaving me to fight for warranty coverage on my own. I'm now forced to escalate through a formal dispute process, all because of their failure to uphold CPO standards. I expected better from Mercedes Benz and am left feeling let down and disrespected. It does not bring me any joy to write this review. Mistakes happen, I get that, but people should own up to their mistakes instead of placing blame elsewhere. The reality is, other buyers should be aware this dealership will have zero problem taking a defective car and labeling it CPO. My piece of advice would be to avoid this dealership AT ALL COSTS. If you see a vehicle from Portsmouth that you like, at the price you like, DO NOT BUY IT. Use that listing to shop at another dealership to get the same vehicle.

Was our first time using this dealership and will definitely use them again.

Great experience and I love my car…read more I noticed there wasn't any Yelp review for this great little used car dealership. I know buying a car can be stressful, and dealing with car dealers - especially used car dealers - can be awful. This was not at all. Everyone was very friendly, no pressure, let us look around and check out whatever we wanted. Went out of their way to make financing super easy. Before I knew it, I had the keys and drove away, with a new emissions test, a decent warranty, and a great quality vehicle. Never felt creeped out the whole time. I would recommend if you are in the market for a decent used car. Of course, do your homework, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

All they did was reset the light twice after putting on a new gas cap. Light came on again. I finally told them that there is something going on with my vehicle as the light indicated an O2 Sensor. That is when they finally fixed the fuel pump! Since it was September, I did not even think about my AC. Turns out there was a bad AC Compressor, cost me $959.00. This was after I explained the sound I was hearing just to be told that it was nothing. Turns out it was the AC compressor and clutch hitting each other thus causing the sound I repeatedly told RE Davis about. Then, I had my entire rear suspension blow out because of bad upper trailing arms in my vehicle which were clearly rotted and rusted and had been this way for quite some time. This cost me $1,061.00. Luckily I was able to convert to a coil suspension. I believe this vehicle was in water at some point. My rear window leaks, there is some kind of a thick glue applied in various places and there are numerous other problems with this vehicle. If RE Davis Auto had let me take this vehicle to my mechanic like I had asked I would NEVER have bought this vehicle. I was told that I am not allowed to take any vehicle off the lot except to test drive. Be very careful when buying ANY vehicle from this company AND make sure they let you take the vehicle to mechanic even if they insist that you can't. Otherwise, shop somewhere else! I truly wish that the Lemon Law applied to my vehicle.
