Convenient location, nice staff, they know me. Highly recommend. I started to bank locally after the big corporate systems did not protect me at all during a short sell and malign effort to take funds out of my account. Don't trust this bank. They will not help you when you get hacked and your money is gone. They will blame you and keep your money. When applying for a home equity loan they tell you to lie to the person who calls to ask questions. read more

For the last 20 years I have banked with tri-Counties and wanted to keep my money local. My account has always been in good standing and out of no where, they are closing my bank account and will not tell me why. A few months ago, they did not same thing to some else I know. I went to the back and said why, we can not answer that question for you. Move your money to another bank, they have become very unfriendly the last few years, never the same person there for over a month, then they are gone. No personal service, you are nothing more to them that a number to them. I predict they will be sold, or go out of business soon. They treat people very badly. If there is a more inept, poorly run bank I don't know what it is....we have had many issues with them over the years but continually hoped they would eventually evolve to a real bank someday as they work out the problems....recently I was working on a simple transfer of an IRA from Tri Counties to a large brokerage, the amount of frustration they caused the client who had been with them from the North Valley Bank days was sad... they lost the clients paperwork and didn't tell them for over a month before letting the client know they could not expedite the transfer as they "never received the paperwork" after multiple employees had confirmed receiving the paperwork and that it was in good order....so somewhere the clients information(ssn, birth dates etc...are floating around or being sold)....after 2 months they are now requiring notary involvement, something that could have easily been done months ago.... the statements from employees and the immediate shutdown of any potential solution that is industry standard leads me to believe that the bank environment is driven by leadership that lacks the ability to trust it's employees to overcome issues for clients while making things suitable for all parties going forward. If you have any other choice for your banking needs, take it....you will be happy you did even if that choice turns out to be a disappointment, at least it wasn't Tri counties. If you are looking for a bank that will steal your money instead of protect it this is the bank for you. Christina Viveros ( assistant branch manager). Gave me a counterfeit $100 bill when I made a withdrawal, I then took that money to another bank to deposit it into an account that bank informed me that one of the bills I had received was counterfeit I went back to tri Counties Bank spoke once again with Christina Viveros and she told me that once she hands me the money there's nothing they can do. Telling me that she doesn't make mistakes and that she knows what counterfeit bills look like this is not what I look for in a financial institution and recommend verifying every single bill that bank hands you. Move your money folks, for the last 16 years I have banked with tri-Counties and wanted to keep my money local but this isn't acceptable in any light! read more

I've had an account with Tri Counties for years. Since they merged with North Valley and updated they are awful. I've gotten locked out of my account 3 times even though I've put my password correctly. It won't even remember the answers to my security questions (which are ridiculous) correctly. I don't mind having security questions but at least have them be things that a person can remember. I'm switching banks ASAP. I'm done with this bank. read more

I have been with Tri Counties since 1998 after Wells Fargo got out of hand. Tri Counties was great until they bought out NortValley Bank. Now there is no more free checking, Checks are ridiculously expensive for just 100. There is now a sur charge to use another banks ATM. The bank might charge you $2.50. to use their ATM, but Tri Counties charges YOU $3. They charge for paper statements now. Also charges I don't even know what they are like foreign fee charges. No explanation, just a deduction from your account. Went over seas even after giving the bank ALL of our travel info and it turned out to be a disaster. They have gone the way of the big banks that can care less about the customer and only want to separate you from your money. My mother has already left and I am not far behind. Good riddance Tri Counties. You used to be a great local bank. read more

Tri Counties at Lake Blvd has Horrible customer service and mostly rude tellers. We closed our personal accounts there due to poor customer service, but unfortunately I have to go there to do the banking for the business I manage. Tonight for example, I closed my business early to make a deposit in time. Got there a few minutes before 6, they let me wait in line and around 6:05 they rudely tell me that they are closed and I need to come back tomorrow. Not to the lady in front of me that walked in at the same time. I would NEVER bank there unless I had to. From now on I will have to go across town to the Hilltop branch,,they are much more customer oriented. read more

So I was a long time customer with North Valley Bank in Redding, CA until Tri Counties Bank took over. Since, I have a few issues but nothing big until now. While on a trip, I was called by the Fraud Department concerned about my charges. I called them back within 15 minutes and confirmed the charges. I was told the hold on my card was lifted and I was good to go. Not so. About 4 hours later, I attempted to use my card and it was denied. I called the fraud department I had called earlier and was told I had to call the bank customer service. After providing my name, date of birth, social security number and address, I was denied service because I did not know the amount of my last deposit. Later, I obtained this information. I called a third time and was assured my card was good to use. Again it was denied. All of this while out of town on a vacation trip. OK, what's the solution? Sure, ask for a new card and wait 10 days. Nope, I am leaving TCB. Please note, I am not upset with the Fraud department and pleased they questioned my charges, but why after several calls to correct it, the card is no good. read more

Since everyone remembers to write reviews when they are not happy, I wanted to come and write one about the wonderful service I have received. I am a transferee from NVB and while there were some hiccup's in changing over for everything that was being done, it was relatively painless! I've always been treated with a smile and good spirits when I go into the Raleys store Tri Counties. The tellers there are friendly and helpful, they really try to go above and beyond. While I miss NVB I have to say I'm loving Tri Counties. Keep up the great work! read more

I banked with North Valley Bank beginning around 1988. Since NVB merged with Tri Counties, there have been endless problems including bills not being paid which were set up in auto-pay. This caused me to receive late fees from the merchants-one of which went on my credit report. When I requested a name change on my debit card and after waiting two weeks for my new card to arrive, I was told by the headquarters branch in Chico, that the card was never actually ordered. In the meantime, my other debit card was cancelled, so I have had no debit card for over 3 weeks now. In addition, I noticed a fee of $17.50 for expediting my card- ha! I had to call the bank and ask them to waive the fee, which they did. When I have left messages for the bank in my online account, they are never reviewed or answered and I had to call the bank. Why have a message system set up, if they don't use it? Saturday was the grand finale when I went to the branch in Westwood Village to cash a check so I would have cash to go shopping. At around 12:55 p.m. as I started to open the front door of the bank, one of the employees pulled the door closed and locked it. This is how I found out the bank changed their Saturday hours, as they use to close at 2:00 p.m. So, today I will withdraw my funds and search for another bank. read more
