The actual procedure was quick and painless and he talked me through the whole process.. after the procedure I saw immediate results. When I got home, I slept for a few hours and when i woke up i could actually see better than I did with my contacts or glasses. I was fine enough to drive myself to the follow up appointment the next day. Coincidentally, after shopping around for the best prices and booking my free consultation with Dr Columbus, I realized he did my brother and two uncles Lasik procedure about 20 years ago, all who still have positive results.. I would highly recommend giving Dr. Columbus a visit if you are thinking about Lasik. I can't believe what it's like to function without glasses or contacts, it feels surreal! Thanks again :)!

I had an uneasy feeling from the beginning when I had the consultation as they advertise discounted surgery on Groupon. I was penny-wise and pound foolish and am writing this so other patients don't make the same mistake. I knew they were eccentric because I had Lasik with them some 10 years ago, but I had no complications and needed it redone so I figured I'd go back to them. I don't recall exactly how many years ago I had seen them because when I asked both brothers shrugged me off individually and didn't care to look at my previous file. It appeared to have become a Lasik mill where there were many people getting consultations. He blew through everything and gave you a legal packet to take home as well as prescriptions for 2 antibiotic and 1 steroidal eye drops for pre- and post-op. To be fair, Robert did specify to get the brand drops. When I went to the pharmacy, the pharmacist did not have the brand they would have had to order it, they were not covered under my insurance, and they assured me they are the same active and inactive ingredients and completely comparable. Prior to the procedure William Columbus takes up my eye flap with a scalpel in the non-sterile examination room then has me walk back to the laser room where the procedure was performed. He had difficulty getting the one flap up, but all went well. After the surgery I showed him, the eye drops I had purchased, and he went ballistic. Post-surgery he was berating me in front of the office staff and other patient's that I had gotten the generic eye drops. He tells me about an anecdote in which a previous patient got a MRSA infection and went blind because of generic eye drops and how "I'm not getting burned again." I was horrified and in complete shock to be talked to like that and so embarrassed by his unprofessionalism because I bought the wrong eye drops. He called around to pharmacies and I went and got the brand eye drops. I was so sorry that I had gone there for surgery. His focus was on defensive medicine and lawsuits. I can only imagine what the story is there. Unfortunately, I had to return for my follow up appointment. I had a blood-tinged area on the right eye where he had trouble getting the flap open and the left eye was a little scratchy. Upon examination he said the flap wasn't laying down correctly. He tried blaming it on the generic steroid eye drops. Mind you I bought the brand antibiotic eye drops, but now the blame lies in the steroid eye drops. No accountability for his technique. He again became extremely hostile and raising his voice to me. It was surreal. Again, with another patient in the waiting room. I could not in good conscience ever trust my eyes to this guy again and will need to do follow-up elsewhere. Just want to give others a heads up to BEWARE. Wish someone had warned me.

From techs to other members of his medical staff, these exceptional individuals are consistently extraordinary, which I attribute to the exceptional leadership, and fine character of Dr. Clark. From the receptionists onward, everyone is cordial, professional, and personable. They utilize the latest technology for accurately, and thoroughly examining your eyes; it's truly amazing. The service is consistent highly professional, and the office, and equipment are clean, and sterile. There are few physicians I've ever encountered that are finer in the O ophthalmology field akin to Dr. Clark! He has remarkable communication, and people skills. With this combination of technology, knowledge, experience, effective, and efficient patient care, I highly recommend Dr. Clark & Associates.

Here is my experience starting April 2023 and ending Sept. 2023. I spent close to $400 on visits…read moreand prescription eye drops and was supposed to get glaucoma and cataract surgery. They delayed my ACN test for 1 month. Then after, they never called to schedule surgery. After I called several times, a week later they set up an appointment to fill out paperwork. The person was not in the office, and I had to drive another 1/2 hour to another office to meet with her. They then rescheduled surgery again because they set it up at the wrong surgical center which delayed it another month. I got my cataract clearance from GP. One week before the surgery the doctor called and said everything was a go. THE DAY BEFORE SURGERY, the office called and claimed they never received the clearance form from GP who I had to call and ask to send again. Then they called back to say surgery was cancelled as their office never did the proper paperwork to get the go-ahead from insurance. I had already started my eye-drops pre-surgery. They HUNG UP THE PHONE on me after saying "welcome to America where no one wants to work, you can ask your question 3 different ways and you'll get the same answer, now let me go do my work"...click. Hung up. I am out all of the money I spent on several visits and eye drops and now have to start all over again and find a new surgeon. And I am seeing double out of my right eye. No one has called to apologize and instead only offered excuses but no solutions. I've never had such an awful experience at a doctor's office and I have seen my husband through 10 operations over the years. I am so incredibly disappointed with this practice, I trusted the doctors and the staff to do the right thing, yet they did not. To be so dismissive and uncaring to people who are at their most vulnerable, needing surgery, is completely unforgivable. I do not recommend Opthalmology Physicians and Surgeons or their parent company ReFocus Eye Health - any of their branch offices - to anyone, ever. I am writing this so others won't have to experience the same blatant disregard for their health and well-being. Run away as fast as you can.

One day, my eye went crossed out of nowhere! I called Hatboro office, and they were booked so they made me an appointment at the Abington location, it was the day before a holiday. Geoffrey Kaplan was who my appointment was with. When I arrived, the front desk woman, came out and told me the doctor said to keep a patch on my eye until my surgery in a few months. He told her; to tell me, it would be a waste of my copay to be seen today. I was already there. He didn't even bother coming out to LOOK AT MY EYE! I waited the weekend, and my eye got more crossed. I went to the Hatboro office Monday as soon as they opened and my regular doctor, saw me, and he said, I think you had a STROKE! Get to the hospital. I went to the hospital, and here, I did have a STROKE! Dr. Kaplan should of came out and looked at me when I saw him prior. I could have had another BIG STROKE, yet he told me to just keep a patch on my eye for MONTHS until my surgery. This is unacceptable and I want to warn others about the neglect this doctor practices.

What??? Another visit inside of two weeks and another exam and another pupil dilation. Insane. I declined and advised Suburban I would not be returning. Strangely, during my visit and exam, the provider asked why I was there even though she had scheduled the visit for a previous injury. She did not seem to be referring to any notes. The provider also noted that my glasses were not in good shape. She noted the glasses were in poor shape but did not think to provide me a script or have a script available when needed without another visit. Am I to assume that the first exam was not comprehensive? Why would I need another exam within two weeks when nothing changed? Crazy making. Lastly, in review of my past care at Suburban, I think I was referred to their own providers and tests, glaucoma & ultrasounds, when not required by my clinical picture to pad their billing. Disgruntled. Beware. Stuart Skinner
