Sweet and simple review. DON'T CALL THIS COMPANY. it's a joke. No show. No calls. How they stay in business is a mystery to me.

They were very eager to sell me a gas log kit for my fireplace for well over $1000 with a promise to install it within a few days. That was 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came and went with no installation. I called and went by the store several times talking to a employee named Beth. Who in my opinion was one of the most rude people I've ever talk to. It is now after Christmas and still no log kit. Talked to the owner but he didn't seem to care. read more

Purchased a mini split from them and they installed the unit. Took them about 6 hours. The unit is working perfectly and the installation came out good. Recommend them for your A/C needs. read more

They may as well not even have voicemail boxes. I couldn't get them to call me back to perform the work they were hired to do and the kicker... I couldn't get them to return calls to pay them once the work was finally done. Unless it's a real emergency, I would not recommend doing business with these folks. read more

After waiting all day for them to come and recharge my air conditioner and replace a thermostat the guy only did half the job before leaving. I called to see if they could get him to come back but apparently not. So... apparently I will be able to review two HVAC companies this week and pay for two service calls. Previous service calls were prompt and satisfactory. read more

I asked them to evalute an HVAC system for a clsoing I had and asked for the evalution in writing to use with my Buyer. They said multitple times they would deliver and never did. Then sent the bill to the wrong address for months until it was forwarded to me. I did not want to pay but did, and they are now billing interest on late payment. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY! read more

The service people were cordial and the quality of their installation was good. It was a difficult install in an older house with no central heat or air and no duct work. However, I believe that their knowledge base is very lacking, or worse. They sold us an expensive unit much too large for our house. At first they didn't provide adequate return air and the TVA inspector made them add an additional return. But they never activated the enhanced mode for the variable speed air handler. The unit always ran at 100%. It cooled the house too quickly and therefore didn't have time to dehumidify the air. No problem heating in the winter. But humidity levels were too high spring and summer. Their explanation was that the drain pipe was probably stopped up, but after paying them a hundred bucks for a service call, the problem persisted. After doing some research I talked to one of their techs about the possibility of adjusting the air handler to run at a lower speed. He acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. I also asked about adding an external thermometer to take advantage of the smart optimization feature on our $500 thermostat. He had no information on that feature. Finally I called another company in Hiawassee. They verified my research. It took their technician about 10 minutes to re-calibrate the air handler. The system runs quieter now. The humidity stays between 55 and 60%, and they are installing a third air return, which should have been done initially. I don't know whether the representatives of this company were untrained or unscrupulous, but because of them we spent far more money than we needed to spend, for a unit too big for our house, for extra power to run the air handler wide open, and extra power running dehumidifiers to do what our system should have been doing all along. After stating that the repair person would come out ASAP to my rental cabin to repair the air conditioning, they were a "no call, no show". My renters had to endure another day of 90 degree heat and I have to give them a refund. When I called about this, I was told "we can't call every customer when we can't get to them." If you can't handle basic customer service, can you really run a business? I will never use this unprofessional business again and urge others not to use them either. read more

These guys have helped me on more than one occasion, ontime service, and fixed it right the first time. Call them first!

Purchased a small gas furnace for my basement from tri state. They came out, hooked it up, all is good. Two years later I lit the pilot for the upcoming 2019 winter but the furnace would not ignite. All fresh batteries but would not ignite from remote or local switch on furnace. Called Tri state, they came out and after about an hour the technician determines the controller is bad. Part will need to be ordered. Fine. Three days later I called tri state since I had not heard from them. The lady tells me part is here and technician will be out the next day to install. Great. Next day nothing. About 3p I call them. Now the story changes. They cannot get the part but If I were able to locate it somewhere they would be happy to come install it for me. So now it is up to me to locate the part. I even spoke with the owner Mr. Noonan and he had no idea what to do. So now I am stuck with a useless heater unless another company (which I have already called) is able to fix it. In my opinion Tri state personnel from the top down are totally incompetent and should not be in business. The technician did not even know what a thermopile was. We contacted Tri-State requesting repair service of our Furnace. They said they would be out the next day. I called back the next day and was told that we were on their list and they would call before they came out. No show! Day 3, I called again, was told that they were short on service technicians and that we were priority. I asked if we needed to call another company, was told if that was what I wanted to do but they wanted to keep my business. Morning of the 4th day, 10:00 am, I contacted another company which arrived within an hour of my call. Tri-State tech called at 10:30 to say they were on their way, 4 days too late.Temps have been in the 20's. We are blessed to have a secondary heat source. I know companies are very busy at this time of year, but a customer service call just to say, hey we can't make it out today would have helped. If you get tied up and can't make it just pick up the phone and make a quick call to your "valued" customers to let them know their place on the list! read more

Under no circumstances call this company. They are the worst heating and air company ever. After waiting all day for there service guy to come out to fix my A/C unit Friday they never even showed up I called them and the lady on the phone told me he would be here in the afternoon which never happened. I went all weekend without A/C. Finally on Tuesday I called to find out why no one had called me or most important been out to fix the problem and was told very rudely by Beth at the store that Jacob had tried to call me on Friday but could not get hold of me? When I checked my incoming call log for Friday the only call was the one I made to them I told Beth this and her response was Jacob was a good Christain Boy and does not lie. If Jacob was smart and if he did call I asked why did he not leave me a voice mail on my phone saying he was trying to get hold of me?? I waited all day for them. And can assure you no one called me. Today is Tuesday and if I had not called them to let them know I've got it fixed by someone else they still would have not been or called me. Please save yourself aggravation and stay clear of this company. read more

I don't think these folks understand what customer service means. Had an appointment for them to come out and install a completely new heating and air system in our cabin and when we called to confirm all was good we were told we'd have to reschedule because of a rainy forecast. This on top of having to wait for two weeks to even get on their schedule. No offer of any other assistance or help even though our unit was completely down and again we called them not visa versa like it should be. WOW! read more

Horrible customer service from the office manager! My home warranty company awarded the service call to Tri-State. The tech came to my house and was very professional and attempted to fix the problem but stated if this didn't work to give them a call. I called the office to inform them that the AC still wasn't working. I spoke to the office manager who proceeded to tell me that I would need to call the warranty company again. When I explained that it was the same problem and the AC was still not working she became rude and informed me that I was not her customer that my warranty company was her customer and then hung up on me. I called my warranty company and requested another business take over the case- Dependable Heating and Air was given the job. I waited for two days (temp in the high 90's) with no response. When I called to check on the job status the same office manager answered the phone (Same Company)! My family and pet were placed in danger d/t the extreme heat. Stay Away read more
