Do not go to this facility. I am extremely surprised at the "positive" reviews because absolutely none of them were true. The facility is not state-of-the-art, they still make you check in filling out paper forms and waiting forever. Front desk staff varies from incompetent to friendly and you bet that if you get someone incompetent, they will keep forcing you to use that same person over and over. Dr Wong is always late, cannot explain his medical opinions in any format, and highly combative, condescending and egotistical. He tries to change the procedure last minute after you've reached an agreement on what will happen during the consultation. Needless to say this highly alarming behavior from a doctor. While all the reviews here for him are "positive" after doing additional research suspiciously all the negative reviews on Dr Wong are under David T. Wong, MD. I was a few minutes late because I went to the wrong building 5601 rather than 5891. The front desk office staff was really cold and mean. I was asked if I had been seen by another Gastroenterology specialist before and why am I not going back to see that specialist? I was shocked to hear this question. I wish there is zero star. Made me waiting for more than an hour. 30 mins to call me in, 30 mins in the room. After waiting I came out to ask if dr.Wong will come or not. Dr is still there outside doing his own stuff. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I just walked out knowing it is just waste of time. Very unethical approach. I was looking for a new doctor because the treatments I am on are not working and I while they first said they will take new patients when they saw I had already seen another doctor they refused service. They won't take you if you have ever seen anyone else, which is very odd and seems highly unethical. read more

My first call to them was a little strange, the gal that answered the phone was having problems and tried scheduling me, but was having computer problems, she told me to call her back in 10 minutes to confirm the appointment. Upon calling back she asked me symptoms and told me she could actually based on symptoms get me in same day. Within 2 hours I was seen by Dr. Wong who was very thorough, asked lots of questions and told me he recommended a Colonoscopy. I was scheduled for the procedure 3 days later! This clinic tops the charts as far as appointment speed! I was a bit nervous, never having had one before, but upon arriving the staff was so friendly and caring, I could not have asked for better service. The really made me feel comfortable and eliminated any nervous feelings I was having. Procedure was painless and uneventful. So happy I found this clinic! read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Shelby and his staff. I haven't experience a rude staff at all. Sometimes they aren't particularly chatty but always polite. I really like Dr. Shelby. He's very calming and kind. He's really looking out for your best interest and is conservative in his recommendations. They always return my calls in a timely fashion. This review is for the front desk. They are despicable and rude. I have never been treated this way as a patient by a medical office. It took 4 days and 3 calls (where they hung up on me once) to get the authorization faxed to my pharmacy for a refill. Twice I was told that my authorization was handled and twice it was not done. These people should never work in the Health Care industry , or maybe its because they are too ignorant to understand the word care. We are the customers and clients they are not doing us any favors, we pay for these services. Again despicable. read more

Dr Wong is completely thorough with all of his patients. He has a great professional manner and Jasmine his front office staff is wonderful too. Dr Wong thinks outside of the box to help his patients so that he can get particular answers and rule out other conditions. When I've called over to the office and I've been in pain the office will make it a point of trying to get you seen quickly. Sometimes the wait can be a little longer but that is because Dr Wong takes time with each patient and answers every question that you come in with. He's definitely not a ten minute max office visit Dr. He truly cares which is why I travel from Napa, CA to San Ramon to see him. read more

I'll write my experience and let you decide for yourself. I saw Dr. Shelby in January for some stomach issues I was having. When I went to the office, he was very kind and reassured me that doing an endoscopy is no big deal, made me very comfortable, etc. I walked out feeling very pleased with my decision to go here. I made an appointment to get the endoscopy done, and everything went great. The issues came with the follow up. After everything was done, I would call the office asking for results. It took them about a week and half to get them and I had to call; they did not call me. They finally sent a paper in the mail with my results and what I should do. I would call the office with questions about medications, etc and would NEVER get a call back. I was in a lot of pain and I'm calling my Dr asking for advice and he NEVER ONCE called me back to see how I was doing. I would call with questions and a week later (I'm not over exaggerating, it would literally take a week) a receptionist would call me back to simply tell me that the only way I could ask the doctor questions was to make another appointment; I've been waiting a week for a response from my doctor and this is what I get? I refused, because the appointments are so expensive and they never had an appointment open when I could go, not to mention this was just for simple questions! I've never before met a doctor that wouldn't take the time to call a patient back. I paid so much to go to this office and have that procedure done; you can call me back and answer a damn question! I would not recommend going here to anybody, unless you like being pushed around and not receiving any responses from the doctors. I switched to another GI doctor who is beyond amazing and makes this office look pathetic in comparison. read more

Dr. Shelby is amazing. I've had several procedures done with him and he is brilliant, knowledgable and kind. His front office staff is lacking. I walked in and greeted two women with "good morning". I was completely ignored (standing right in front of them) while they spoke to each other not even acknowledging that I was standing there. They performed the procedure within an hour, I had no after effects or issues at all. Immediately following the procedure, I was up and around like nothing happened. Dr. Shelby was my doctor, but no longer. Do not go to this doctor. You will not get any answers. You will spend weeks trying to get a hold of the office. Nobody will call you back no matter how many messages you leave. I even tried pressing the number if you are a physician calling and voilà somebody answered, but put me on hold forever and when they got back on the line they transferred me to a voicemail so that I could leave a message. Ridiculous! I already left a message! About 15 of them! Do not waste your time, money or stomach health on this doctor. If he were a good doctor he would hire better staff to represent him. Oh and I found out that they used to be called San Ramon Endoscopy Center. They changed the name because their reviews were so bad. read more

I had put off getting a colonoscopy for over 2 years beyond the scheduled date. My primary care physician recommended Dr. Wong. Dr. Wong met with me before the procedure and took the time to discuss my concerns and resolve a course of action that I was happy with. Dr. Wong's experience played a critical role in making the procedure completely top notch. Amy assisted and was a big help in the pre and post procedure phases.
