All she really wants to do is approach other dogs and "say hello", but her bark sounds so menacing, we basically turn around and walk the other way. To train her, we've tried treats, other dog trainers, methods we see on Instagram - none have worked. Enter Glenn. A friend of mine recommended him, and we have seen a huge improvement in Lulu's temperament. Each lesson is basically an hour walk in my neighborhood, ending with teaching Lulu commands in front of my home. We've also gone to a local dog park. We've had about 6 lessons, and I enjoy walking Lulu a lot more now. She no longer barks at people on skateboards, or the mailman, or dogs across the street. She is still learning to behave when dogs approach her, but I know it takes time. We're moving in the right direction. Glenn is very patient and friendly - he is willing to answer all questions, during and after lessons. Sometimes he'll record parts of our lessons and text them to me so I can review and remember what happened during the lesson. And remember! He is not only training your dog - he's training you! Before training, we struggled with leash pulling, barking, lunging at other dogs, and nonstop chaos whenever someone came through the door. We were honestly at our wits' end. Everything changed after I saw Bryan in Jackson Square walking a calm, perfectly behaved pack of dogs. We started weekly family lessons in January 2026 with our dogs and our two 12-year-old daughters, and progress began almost immediately. Bryan quickly helped us realize the humans needed training too. With consistent coaching, support, and a board-and-train program, the transformation has been incredible. Bit of background: Maggie has done 12 weekly group training sessions with another trainer and is generally well-behaved. However, she doesn't read the social signals from other dogs well (ex: when they want to be left alone), tends to jump on everyone at all times, doesn't respond to commands unless there's a treat involved, and lacks confidence. What I enjoyed about the program is that it includes several in person training sessions during the B&T. We got to see Maggie's progress as time went on and most importantly, we were trained on their behavior psychology and how to become the leaders of our pack. I will say I was nervous about implenting the ecollar but Bryan has demonstrated that it is a safe and effective training tool-- I got to see it used as a tool for correction that Maggie actually responded well to. Maggie is coming home tomorrow and hand-off includes an in-home training sessions to ensure her progress doesn't regress which I appreciate. From what I've seen, Maggie has become more confident, responds to recalls in distracting places (no treats involved), learned to self-soothe, and plays/greets other dogs/people with manners. Truly the best investment I've made in my dog and I'd highly recommend Mutt and Tumble to all dog parents!

I have a 6 month akita and my friend has a 1 year old husky. You know how in cartoon's when two character's fight you see nothing but a tornado cloud and random interjections flying around like $#$%. YUP! that was our dogs. Chantale corrected that immediately and by the end of the session both dogs were able to walk next to each other calmly. She also never made it seem like there was a time limit on her session. She answered ALL my questions, and I sure as heck had a lot. It wasn't just training that she provided I noticed the attitude change in my pup. She did a lot more head snapping (looking towards me for commands) and she's beginning to recall without treats! Thank goodness our neighbor recommended Dan Perata to us. We liked the positive training method and the focus on training us, as well as Blue. Dan and team gave us the tools to manage Blue and help him be the fantastic dog that he is. We have a 1.5 yr…read morefrench bulldog who we were totally overstimulating in our home and became a terror to deal with. Resource guarding his food bowl, bad at walking, random growling at us, overstimulated by balls/dogs, and generally uncontrollable in any situation. We inquired with a bunch of different dog trainers and decided to go with Refined K9 given their holistic approach. Before Refinedk9, I had tried "positive only" trainers that evaluated Buddha for his food aggression, but they were totally ineffective and, in fact, made his reactivity towards food worse. We were also way over-feeding him and numbing him to treats. Other unqualified trainers were also unable to explain how they would properly introduce an e-collar and why e-collars are used. We were extremely anxious about having Buddha do the 4-week board and train to "reset", but we felt okay after learning Jose has many French bulldogs himself. Even though we didn't get super frequent updates, it was clear every week that Buddha was very well taken care of. Jose took the first week to evaluate our dog, his behavior, and get to know him, without "jumping" into conditioning. He took the time to understand us, our dog's behaviors, and tailored a program to uplevel Buddha slowly (place, relaxing around food, learning how to walk properly, with a gentler prong collar, and then an e-collar). He also helped Buddha learn how to 'communicate' with other dogs and 'socialize' properly in a safe space (not a random dog park). When we visited Buddha, we could tell he respected and liked Jose. I cried with happiness the day our dog came back :) He walked perfectly, he was confident, and knew how to communicate with other dogs. He was calmer in our home but still had his personality. We learned to make hard changes to our environment that was overstimulating for our dog and how to better communicate with him. Even though it's been hard enforcing changes at home, I feel so much happier with our structure. The intake process with Refinedk9 was a little confusing, as we talked to 3 different trainers over phone/email, although all of them recommended Jose for us. At the end of the day, we trusted our decision to move forward, and we are incredibly thankful to have our boy in the hands of a highly experienced and trustworthy dog trainer.
