We got a 6 month old german shepherd mix puppy from the SF SPCA a few months ago. After a month in we realized our dog Benzene has super high energy & needs a lot of stimulation, especially as a puppy. We also work full time & felt bad that our dog Benz would need to be in his crate for 6-7 hours a day. I looked & called around for dog walkers and Justin was the first to pick up my call on a Sunday night at 6pm, tell me about the services & how it works, & overall sounded so passionate about the dogs, their well-being, & his packs. We set up a day only a couple days later for Justin to come by to meet us & take Benzene to walk with the morning pack (walked by Tommy). Justin sent us videos of how Benz was doing with the pack to make sure they all got along & from every day after we have had daily walks! After being in the pack for about 1.5 months now, we LOVE it. Although the pricing seems a bit high at first, once you break down the cost per day for 5 walks a week, the rate is very affordable. It is worth every single penny - not to mention that the pack walks satisfies the socialization that our puppy needs with the same dogs every day (he even has a best friend in the pack!). Benz is out for about 2.5-3 hours every day, walking around Buena Vista Park. Although Benz is not at all ready for off leash yet, he gets long lead time to play while the other dogs are off leash a couple times a week. Every time he comes home, even if we are home that day, all Benzene wants to do is sleep until it's dinner time. The walks definitely get a majority of his energy out & keep him out of trouble around the house. Finally, let me rave about Tommy, the walker for the SF area for Adventures in Dog Walking. We love him! He has a very calm presence but stern voice which Benzene definitely needs as a puppy (especially being a big puppy at 50lbs). Justin was awesome with my dog. My dog can get crazily excited and there was a lot of things that my dog need to be work on, especially her leash walking. My dog previously had other trainers but there was only small improvements. I am glad I came across Adventure in Dog Walking on yelp while I was looking for a board and train for my dog while I go abroad for a month in a couple months. I was skeptical and a bit worried about leaving her with someone else for a month while I'm in a whole new country. Justin and I had a call and we talk about my dog and her behavior and so on. I decide to sent her for a one week board and train to see how it goes. During her one week, Justin sent video update also explaining what he is doing with my dog. I can see in the video how much fun my dog was having. When Justin drop off my dog at the end of the week, he showed and explained all the things she learned. My baby, Finn, started with Adventures in Dog Walking in... 2017? I think. We first started with one of his staff members, who was so fantastic. Finn is fearful of other dogs, after some upsetting experiences in daycare, especially dogs his size. Our walker helped him feel safe and get him settled into the pack. He was so reliable and was always on time, kept the pack for generously long walks, and helped Finn develop his confidence. He even helped with reinforcing and strengthening good behaviors like not pulling on the leash! When he moved away in 2020, Finn switched to Justin's pack, and he's been so happy! As other reviewers note, Justin is so attentive to the needs of the dogs and always lets me know if Finn is favoring a paw, seems to have an ear issue, or is just... a little off. Finn KNOWS when it's time for Justin to arrive and is always so excited to see him. He comes home so happy and tired! On the days when Justin has the chance to send over a photo or video (a thing I appreciate, but understand is rare because he's focused on our pups, not on his phone!), it fills my heart with so much joy to see my nervous baby playing and happily interacting with other dogs. He's still anxious about strangers when we go out, but Justin has really created a safe, supportive environment that lets my boy be a carefree pup with other dog friends! He's so caring and invested in the dogs, and regularly asks if we have any needs he can help with, etc. He's open to hearing about any training I'm doing with him so that he can reinforce it. He's happy to do things like give a quick paw tidy when Finn is dealing with an inflamed pad so that he can relax after his play time.
