Daryl is the locksmith to go to! He came out on a Sunday afternoon to tackle two notoriously hard to unlock AND create duplicate keys for a '06 SV and '06 Ninja. A few other locksmiths I called even outright refused to work with motorcycles. Not only that, he managed to do so with only 1 key blank for each bike since I had somewhat rare key models! ( 2006 Suzuki and Kawasaki bikes). Very skilled and friendly no-bull locksmith, but it gets even better! I personally am paranoid about carrying cash and he currently doesn't accept cards (he is getting one soon), but he was nice enough to drive me to the closest ATM about 2 miles away! For the rush job in the time frame and skill, he is easily worth the price. Note: I had found him previously before via Yelp and had helped me with a gas cap for said bike with missing keys. What he charged me then was a great deal as well. If you ever do motorcycle repair, and need someone to remove the gas cap off a spare tank, he's excellent for that as well! read more

I was pet and house sitting for my sister when the lock on their front door failed. (I left to walk the dog and luckily had my phone with me!) I called two other locksmiths in the area and both were unavailable. One business didn't even pick up the call. After all it was 5 pm on a warm beautiful Friday evening! Daryl not only answered his phone but walked me through the steps to try and finagle the lock open. I hung up cause I needed both hands and thanked him for the tip. After numerous attempts and another 90 minutes (in which my nephew arrived home from work) I finally gave up and called Daryl back. He warned me it would take about 30 minutes to get to my location. The nicest freaking man EVER. The other reviewer who complained about his rate and the amount of time it took was out of line. They are the indecent one not Daryl. Who gets upset with someone for being efficient and skilled in their craft because they didn't give them a discount. Any decent person would be thrilled to have someone finish a job they clearly couldn't do themselves in 30 seconds rather than be tied to incompetence for hours. What I also thought would be a timely feat only took Daryl a matter of minutes. He even threw in extras and advised me on another issue I had. Darryl was very helpful when I needed some keys made on a Saturday morning. He made them out in front of his house. The keys were special so there was a chance they might not work when I went to use them. I called to let him know they didn't work thinking he would give me a refund. WOW - What can I can I say?!! These folks are wonderful. They are very nice, courteous, fast and extremely customer focused. On a recent trip. my daughter had her purse stolen with our address and keys. We called Daryl and he was very sympathetic and wanted to help. He was so nice and generous! He did three locks and new keys in about 20 minutes. And with a terrific attitude and professionalism. Also fixed something wrong with the latch (no charge). I had to get locks rekeyed, replaced, and reversed on about 5 doors. It wasn't an emergency, but he had time and so Darryl came out within the hour. He worked quickly and efficiently and was even able to rekey/make new keys based on a picture of our existing key. He also gave me some advice on whether I should put a keyed lock a french door He was very nice, wore a mask, and overall did a great job. The pricing was also very reasonable. I got locked out of my car yesterday and gave these guys a call. I had somewhere to be and these guys come out 15 minutes after I called them which was great. The price is a little high but it's one of those things that you can't really comprised on if you can't wait and have somewhere to be. The guy came off as a little rude as he seemed to be screaming then he said he was half deaf which makes sense. Anyway their promptness was great. read more

This business is a joke. I was locked out of my house today with my cell phone in my house unfortunately as well. I had to make 3 trips to a local hardware store to call these guys to see if they were still coming. They initially said half an hour and made me wait over an hour on a Saturday when I needed to work as well. Do not believe them when they tell you what time they will be there. I would love to give Tri Valley a good rating but it is hard to evaluate when they never showed up. I called for an appointment on Saturday for a Monday service, stayed home from work...and nada, never showed. I would also note that when I called for the appointment, the gentleman on the line was quite distracted. I had to repeat the details several times. Daryl came out and added a deadbolt to our front door.. I have very eager 5 year old twins who swing the front door open whenever anyone rings the doorbell. So I had him add a deadbolt higher up out of reach. He came on time, cleaned up after himself and made sure the deadbolt matched our existing lock. Daryl literally just left and I couldn't wait to write this review to let everyone how great he was. My front entrance doorknob fell off this morning and he came within 2hrs of the call. He knew exactly what the issue was and fixed it right away. Not only that, but he noticed the lock was not perfectly aligned with the side of the door (which I forgot to mention) and repaired that too. I can tell he's very experienced and been doing this for many years. He's very personable and friendly like a next door neighbor you would call for help. Overall, an honest gentlemen, great sense of humor and hard working. He's not about bare minimum services. Not only does he want you to be 100% satisfied, but I can tell he also wants to be 100% satisfied with his work and won't walk away until he is. That's how I know he takes pride in his work. We run into an emergency last Fri late afternoon when the lock of our office fell apart. I called a couple other locksmiths but they were not available.
