I was at Triad Oral Surgery today, I had several teeth extracted. The staff are friendly , soon as you walk in door, you are greeted, receptionists, nurses and the doctor are great, I do not have dental insurance, the doctor, deducted from my bill, because of this, I appreciate that greatly. I got excellent treatment, when my granddaughter, needs her wisdom teeth removed, she will be having care here. Terrific Doctor, and staff! read more

So I almost canceled my daughter's appointment after reading these reviews... I was so worried. Her dentist suggested that she get her wisdom teeth pulled but they currently were not bothering her so she could have waited. But her being on Christmas vacation from school this seemed like the perfect time to get rest after surgery. After reading the reviews I was scared the staff was going to be mean and disrespectful... they couldn't have been nicer. I didn't speak to the doctor much because the nurses answered all my questions. I would have given them 5 stars but there was a long wait time before the surgery and I was about to freeze my butt off in the room waiting for the doctor. But it took no time after he got there and my daughter and I was ready to get home. The nurse sent in the prescription first thing, so they were ready before we ever left their office which was great. So other than the wait time which I was warned about before I got there (the office said 2-4 hours in a text)... it was good experience. read more

My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed and it did not go well for her. I was waiting in my car during the surgery and next think I know they are wheeling her up to the car door. I didn't talk to the Dr. to find out how it went and there was no after care instructions except a piece of paper. My daughter was crying and I was told that sometimes people get emotional after surgery. I was getting ready to leave when she starts clawing at her face cry/screaming with her mouth full of gauze I finally realize she is in pain, not emotional. I had to wait for a receptionist to acknowledge me before they finally came to get her in a wheelchair. The nurse said that everyone reacts differently but I knew this wasn't normal. She told my daughter that she needed to calm down but she is still half under the anesthesia and in tremendous pain. The nurse said she guessed she could get her some ice until the Dr. comes back in but was in no hurry to do it and had an attitude. When no one came back I had to go out in the hallway to find someone to see what was going on. I was rudely told that the Dr. was in surgery and he just couldn't leave and he would get to her when he could. My 15 yo daughter had to wait in pain for about 30 minutes for the Dr. to finally arrive. The doctor was rude about having to come back in and just kept jabbing her ruthlessly barking at her that she had to hold still while he numbed her again. I had to call them when I got home to ask for a school note and find out how long she should stay home. Her care instructions said to irrigate after 3 days but they left out to tool to use. I also asked about her follow up appointment but they don't do them. This place was definitely just a surgery mill, damn the quality care, get em in and out. RUN from this place! read more

If I could rate this place less than one star, I would! My son, then 18, was referred to Dr. Simoncic for removal of his wisdom teeth two years ago. Since he is disabled, and we had a limited window before his juvenile disability medicaid coverage ended, we rushed to make the appointment. The problem is, the entire fiasco went from bad to worse from there. First, when we made the appointment, I asked point blank if the surgeon and staff were equipped and prepared to deal with an autistic adult child (in that he's 18 but immature at times about certain things, like crowds, strangers, noises and smells). The first person I spoke to said they didn't deal with special needs children. Frustrated, I called back the referring dentist, who insisted Triad Oral did deal with cases like this and said they'd call Triad Oral for us. Finally, a second lady called us and assured us the surgeon and his staff could handle with my son with no problems. In fact, she assured me they'd get him in and out in less than two hours if we made our appointment for very early morning, which she said was "routine" for their special needs patients. So, that's what we did. Second, at the time we made the appointment, we were told no more than one family member was allowed inside with the patient in the waiting room area. Fine. My husband could sit in the car and I'd wait with my son. When we got in there, however, there were families with as many as four and even five people jammed into the waiting room. So I'm there with an already extremely nervous autistic adult child who is made extremely uncomfortable by crowds, and some of the families had small kids that were running around unchecked and the waiting room is tiny too, they told the truth about that. Third, his appointment was for 8:00 in the morning. By 9:15 he still hadn't been called back. Then 10 & 11 am came and went. Finally, by 12:20, he was taken to xray, and I accompanied him to have a look at his xrays. To be honest, his teeth weren't that bad other than one tooth that was completely turned sideways and would definitely have to be extracted. Another concerned me as it was so crooked, and I told him he really needed to have it taken out, too. But he looked at them and decided himself that he only wanted the one that was sideways removed. Since he's 18 and no longer under my control, I did the best I could, in front of the staff, to convince him to allow the surgeon to remove the second tooth, but he wasn't budging and his patience with the noise and crowd and long wait were beginning to get to him as well. Finally, about 2 pm, we were shown into a room and after a few moments the door SLAMMED open against the wall and in came Dr. Simoncic. He didn't introduce himself, oh no, he charged right past me to my son in a huff. He snapped at me, though, as he went, "No offense lady, but you are a TERRIBLE parent." I said, "Excuse me?" He went on to lambaste me for a solid ten minutes about how horrible of a person I am and how terrible it is of me to decide to do my son's extractions one tooth at a time! I explained to him I am only an advocate, at this point, and my son made his own decisions as an adult, I said, "He's 18, he can make his own decision, I can't force him to do anything." In the end, after a vicious diatribe in which I was repeatedly called "horrible" or "terrible" or "cruel" the doctor told me to "Get out of the room" and then added "Do not come back to this office or any of our other offices ever again in future for care for your son or any of your other family." I was so flabbergasted that, at the time, I said nothing. I should have yanked my son up and left, but I was in so much shock at such horrible treatment I just walked out of the room. Five minutes later, surgery was done and shortly after that we were on the way home and I can assure Dr. Simoncic we will never darken his doorstep again, nor will any of our family or our friends. To follow up, it's come to my attention from reading the comments here that Triad Oral is a "surgery mill." I absolutely agree this has to be true. I had no idea my son was going to refuse to do all four teeth that day, and the surgeon was not in the xray room when I was practically begging my son to at least do two of his teeth that day for a solid ten minutes. I went on to beg him in the waiting room and again continued begging him (in front of the other staff who were prepping him for the procedure) in the room while we were waiting for the surgeon. On the other hand, all of them heard me begging my son, saw me showing him that the other tooth was in fact crooked and that I felt it did need to come out, but not one of them stepped up and told the surgeon I had in fact tried. read more

I came here over two years ago to get a tooth extracted. Since that time, I have had a severe bone infection, have almost had sepsis, and literally am still fighting the pain from the first extraction. I say the first extraction because in the beginning, I was not aware that this place had caused a severe bone infection. I then thought perhaps I had a second tooth that was near the first, causing more pain. I had my dentist pull it instead of going here for fear of this place. To our surprise, the tooth was perfectly healthy. Then after subsequent CT scans (I am not telling this in great perfection as I am still in pain from this procedure to this day) I recently found out that I have a bone infection and a concave spot on my jaw where it appears a tool was used to simply scrap out the entire tooth and part of my jaw bone. I have been on endless antibiotics and have recently been told that I might need a PIC line and IV antibiotics for six weeks. I am still in much pain. So perfectly good tooth gone, bone infected, severe antibiotic regimen that is not good for ANYONE to be on for such a long time...and then a practice that is STILL in business? I urge all that read this to boycott this place! Who knows why I got such a severe infection, but I can tell you that I was very close to becoming septic. My body FINALLY started fighting it, but I am still in pain on the site, and this is two years later! Please PLEASE boycott this place. I beg everyone considering going her to NOT! It is simply NOT worth it. I know you might be suffering with a severe tooth situation and feel like you need it urgently taken care of, but please, take my warning into consideration...do some research..find a business that is worthy of your time and money and energy. Do not think this place will be a quick fix because I am here to tell you, after almost getting sepsis and fighting for my life...this place is bad news. I really am unsure as to why with all of these complaints, that it is still up and running. Perhaps if we boycott it, we can make a change here. Or get lawyers which might be my next step. I have to get perfectly well first before fighting that battle, because I want to be 100 percent in order to face these people in a court of law. So the star that you see on this review, stands for my thanks to God for keeping me alive and getting me through this horrible ordeal. If there was an option to give them zero stars I would. I took my mother to get her teeth extracted on a Tuesday. Thursday morning she had a high fever and had pus in each of the extraction points in her mouth, a LARGE portion of tooth still intact and they were swollen and red. I had to call the emergency number 20 times before anyone returned a call. I told the person who called me back what was going on and she said "I've never heard of anyone running a fever post OP after dental procedures. It's not related to this, have her go to a prime care or something". Called a second dentist for a second opinion and they informed me that a fever is the most common side effect after surgery. I ended up taking her to the emergency room and she had dry socket in all of the holes. They gave her antibiotics and it cleared up. The partial piece of tooth ended up falling out but the stitches remained. A month and a half later, we go back for her "post op" and she had an exposed piece of her jawbone and he took a burr and drilled it off, with no numbing. My mother was in extreme pain (according to him bones do not have nerve receptors in them and numbing it was going to take too long and hurt more). My mother was white knuckling the chair, had blood all over her shirt by the time he was done and was crying in pain. After he drilled out the exposed bone he didnt say anything about after care or what the next step was, just told her not to wear her teeth and then left. I wouldn't let my exes dog come here for an xray. She will never step foot in this business again. read more

You need to be very careful working with these guys. My entire experience was rushed and I asked to sign off for a surgery that cost over $800 out of pocket in a matter of 5 minutes. Even though I inquired if all of the things they wanted to do were necessary and was told yes I later found out that was not the case where I could have saved over $300. Also it is important to note that in the state of NC, dentists can charge you what ever they choose for something if it is not covered by your insurance company so while the insurance company has negotiated rates with the dentist, the dentist can charge the individual person much higher rates, which I find to be unethical and pretty ridiculous since doctors sign an oath to do no harm...I see that harming people that are in a vulnerable place and need medical assistance. I would not recommend them as I felt very pressured and was not given accurate information when I asked them directly for transparency. read more

Excellent service, there was a longish wait time but once I was in the chair everything went smooth as butter. I was very worried about my wisdom tooth extraction but the doctor and staff reassured me everything would be fine which really helped calmed my nerves. The procedure was over very quickly and I've had excellent healing times. Would greatly recommend this office to anyone with any kind of oral problems. read more

I would have never expected this state of the art office, has some of the most rude staff I have ever encountered. The office manager is extremely difficult to deal with. She stood over me the entire time as though I was going to steal the chair out of the office. Even the nurses there are rude, I over heard them talking about one the patients in the room down the hall, and referred to her as the (ugly black girl.) I was completely shocked and wanted to walk out. The staff there is not welcoming nor genuine. They will talk over you and make you feel as though you are stupid instead of educating someone on how dental plans work. I would not recommend for anyone to go there. I read more

The office space is GORGEOUS. If only everything else could be just as gorgeous. The office staff at the front desk were all nice and were very quick in checking me in. I had about a 30 minute wait to be taken back to see the doctor. My visit started with a panoramic X-Ray--super easy. Once back in the room I was asked several questions by an assistant and then I waited for Dr. Stefan Simoncic. He came in and introduced himself. He stood over me with the headlight he wore on his head, blinding me for the majority of our interaction--which wasn't very long. He looked at my X-Ray, looked in my mouth for 2 seconds, and advised to have my wisdom teeth taken out. That was expected. What I didn't expect was that he has HORRIBLE bedside manner. When I mentioned that I had put this surgery off for over 10 years because I was nervous, he gave me a very patronizing answer that "he was the expert" and to "not worry." When I explained that I have a major fear of having an allergic reaction to any of the medications administered to me during the procedure (based on previous allergic reactions) he did not even offer any reassurance. He threw his hands up in the air and said "Well, you could be allergic to your shirt or a drink you sip tomorrow....that's life." Hands down the worst thing a doctor can say to someone who is extremely anxious about a procedure. Dr. Stefan Simoncic did not explain to me anything about the procedure, what he would do, how to take care of my mouth after surgery, nothing. He walked out, came back in, doped me up, and didn't even speak to me after the procedure. They did go over a handout with post-op instructions with my husband, however I don't remember a thing about it.....I was too busy seeing flowers come out of the ceiling thanks to the drugs! :) It would have been nice for them to talk about it to me before I had the surgery. Their handout instructions was nice though. I went back in yesterday because I have been in extreme pain for 5 days straight. I felt like I was a bother to them, as they rushed me in and out. Dr. Stefan Simoncic looked at my mouth for *literally* 2 seconds. He did not look into the sockets or inspect for any dry socket or lodged food/substance. He didn't even get down near my mouth to look--he just stood over me. It was basically "be patient, it was surgery." Umm...yes, I know this, but people do have dry socket or other issues. He didn't give me longer than 1 minute to reassure me that things were healing ok. It was absolutely pathetic. Here I am, almost 7 days post extraction and I have pain 24/7. I have followed post-op procedures to the T. I take my Ibuprofen every 4 hours as instructed. I take the pain killers as instructed. NOTHING makes the pain go away. And this is supposed to be "normal" and something I need to be "patient" about? I've talked to many many people who have had wisdom teeth removed and none have had this type of pain or length of recovery. This office sure didn't have any problem taking my $1800 for my surgery and were all nice to me on that first day. On my second trip I was treated like I was a bother. I get the feeling that this doctor is only interested in performing as many procedures as he can to make a ton of money. It almost feels like a puppy mill in a weird kind of way--just pumping out people with gauze in their mouth and not really doing any follow-up at all. And when you need follow-up, you won't get it unless you are OK with being a little bit of a nag. There are a couple dental assistants there that were amazing. Too bad they work for such a skeez. Would not recommend unless you HAVE to go there because your insurance only covers them (which was my situation). read more

My son had to have his wisdom teeth removed as well as a super numerary tooth. The first time we went for the consultation everyone was nice. We scheduled the surgery for 2:00 on a Friday. We arrived on time and checked in. We were called back to the room after approximately 30 minutes. That's when things went really downhill. We sat in that room waiting on the surgery to start for 2 hrs and 10 minutes.......so total wait time from the time we checked in was 2 hrs and 49 minutes!! COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!! My son was extremely anxious about this surgery. He is 14 years old. The nurse kept telling us that the dr would be in soon but is was very obvious after the first 1 1/2 hour of waiting that he was extremely behind. Keep in mind that my son had not had anything to eat since midnight the night before. We were to the point when we were going to walk out when the dr walked in. He apologized but he didn't seem very sincere. They started the IV and then my husband and I went to the waiting room. While we were in the waiting room a woman came in and was extremely angry about the fact that her husband had been in a room waiting on his surgery for over 3 hours. She demanded their money back and said they were leaving. I recognized the lady and someone who was actually already there when we checked in. From that point I was very uncomfortable. After about 30 minutes we were called back to the room our son was in. We walk in and immediately notice that our son has stitches in the corner of his mouth. We wanted to know what happened. The nurse said she was not in the room during the procedure and she wasn't for sure what happened. My husband said that someone has better get into that room right now and tell us why our son has stitches on the outside of his mouth. At this point the nurse reminded us that we had signed a consent form!!! Very odd that she would say this at that point in time. This lead me to believe that things like this had happened before. We requested to see the surgeon and he comes back and starts to explain what happened. He was very defensive and not overly apologetic. He said we didn't understand how difficult the surgery was but in my mind he should have been in that room to explain to us what happened when we first walked back there. We should not have had to request that he come back in. This is our child you are performing surgery. It was extremely inconsiderate. We are suppose to take him back to have those stitches removed but we will not be back. We will either take him to his regular dentist or to the pediatrician to have the stitches removed. I could not get my child out of there fast enough. I would NOT recommend this practice or this doctor to anyone!! read more
