STAY AWAY, unless you appreciate paying when therapists avoid their responsibilities! Blue Cross…read morenow requires pre approval for physical therapy, and Raleigh Ortho finds it easier to charge YOU than to play their required role in approvals and appeals. The team at this office took 3 direct requests (each time saying yes I'll do it), 2 calls to Blue Cross' provider to check status, an escalation to therapy management and 6 total weeks to appeal a pre approval denial. The appeal was successful but Raleigh Ortho is holding us responsible for all the charges in the interim and says it's our fault we didn't discontinue therapy for our child during this period. All for therapy where the therapist never even laid hands on our child, just assigned exercises. I guess I should be grateful, their failure to do their job led us to a far more successful physical therapy practice elsewhere.

Dr. Isbell additionally sewed my shoulder capsule too tightly, rendering expressly limited range of motion & necessitating a 2nd shoulder reconstruction. A Duke shoulder specialist was able to repair the structural damage, but no surgery could alleviate the incurable RSD symptoms which have plagued me EVERY MINUTE of EVERY DAY since Dr. Isbell operated on my shoulder. I suffer mercilessly, but I'm not the only one. RSD has adversely impacted all in my family and any & all relationships I've had, friendships or otherwise. It has stripped my finances, decimated my livelihood & squandered my future. I cannot stress enough the extreme physical, financial & mental toll caused by this merciless illness & the adverse impact it has had upon my family.

I found Elite by calling a number of PT places near my area and liked that they do not use part time aides to work on you and that everyone is a licensed therapist. During my recovery period I worked with two therapist. Alison was compassionate, and assisted me in the early stages giving me the confidence to get on the path to recovery. She took a short term leave and Peter took over. He was amazing and designed activities for me to do that has given me more than 95% function back. The facility has recently moved so I am unaware if the new facility is improved. My only complaint is lack of availability. They are busy and I was unable to return for some post recovery work. I needed pre/post work appointments and they had not slots for three weeks. Perhaps hours can be expanded to accommodate more working professionals.

I had about four visits with Stephen and Terri and I wish I had more. Stephen is excellent at dry needling and Terri is excellent at massage (and gives enough pressure--hallelujah!). As I head back to my tour, my body is thanking me for visiting Elite Ortho so frequently. If you haven't tried dry needling before, I highly recommend you try it with Stephen. It's a specific, quick way to address muscular issues. After four visits, my hips are *finally* back into place and my traps have let go. I also recommend booking Terri for a massage right after you get needled--it helps keep everying loose. And on top of providing great services, the people here are kind, welcoming, and hilarious, so you'll want to go and get needles stuck into you because it means you get to see a handful of top-notch humans. Get thee to Elite Ortho PT!

Her assessment skills are advanced and she was able to detect underlying medical conditions that were causing my chronic pain! Afterwards, we were able to manage the pain with the appropriate treatment plan. She is extremely organized and provides me printed out handouts of my workouts with visuals and instructions. I am so grateful for my WakeMed family, as I feel like I got my life back. Thank you so much! Staff: I want to give a shout out to Carma and Jillian at the front desk for their welcoming smiles and humor. Everyone has been very kind. Sometimes, I bring a family member or friend, and staff has accommodated them. Facility and Environment: The facility has efficient gym equipment and bands for everyone's needs. They have a private room for initial evaluations, but most of the facility is an open concept where you work one-on-one with your PT. Sometimes, I am in the facility by myself when I schedule late afternoon sessions near closing time, but if you are scheduled during other times, you could be one of maybe up to 5 patients dispersed in the area. There is enough space for you and staff. The facility is also very convenient because my Orthopedic doctor is located across the hall, and my PCP is located upstairs. Building: The facility is connected to the WakeMed North Hospital building, but at the back side. When facing the front of the hospital, drive to the building's right side and turn the SECOND LEFT for the main entrance. (The first left is an oval parking lot mainly for Wake Orthopedics or for Physician's Practices visits. You'll be confused if you park here for your first visit.) The main entrance has a semi-circular drop-off area which is great for wheelchair access. There should be a sign on the sliding doors that say something like, "WakeMed Physical Therapy and Rehab." When you walk through these sliding doors, go past the restrooms, and the door is at the end of the hallway, to the right. If you cannot find parking in the open lot, there is a parking deck diagonal to the entrance, but there's always free parking spots around the back of the building. If you ever get hungry after your appointment, you can go to the WakeMed Cafeteria for a bite. They serve great lattes at the coffee bar, too.

When, after about four weeks, I mentioned to Chip that I believed it was costochondritis, he was rather dismissive, even after I forwarded information to him about the condition. Well, if all you want to do is run your playbook, who needs a diagnosis? At that point I started to look elsewhere. Upon discharge, he admitted to me that they have not had as much success as they would like with rib and hip injuries. I would've preferred to hear that at onset. Also, I do not recommend spending the $1000 for their laser therapy. The results for me were extraordinarily temporary, despite being applied directly to the rib cage area during my tenure there.. 2025 Update: I was able to get significant relief from an out of state osteopath who specialized in OMT and was able to place the ribs back into place. Forget wasting your time, energy and money on practices that do little more than run their play book.
