The walls are thin and noise travels quite a bit. Thumps, thunks, clunks, voices, tvs, doors opening and closing...lots of noise. Room feels echo-y and I feel like we need to whisper. The lighting above the beds reminds me of a hospital room. We don't normally stay at budget hotels but choices in Ste Genevieve are limited. It is about what I expected for a Microtel, although I cannot stress enough how clean it is. If we ever need to stay in Ste Genevieve again, we would probably book a room here again based solely on cleanliness.

The innkeepers greeted me with a tour AND a warm chocolate chip cookie and were helpful throughout my stay. Two seating times were offered for breakfast, 8 and 9am, and an hour prior to the seating they set out coffee and fresh butterscotch bread which was delicious, I enjoyed starting my day drinking my coffee and nibbling on my sweet treat on the porch rocking chairs with a book. I'm a vegetarian and even so the innkeepers gave me two options for breakfast the night prior, a drunken caramel French toast and a cheesy potato casserole (a very hard decision, but I went with the French toast which was so tasty.) The main was served with the best blueberry muffin I've ever had, strawberries with yogurt topping, and an orange slice -- indulgent but not excessively so. I stayed in Lulabelle's room which is on the third floor. It was lovely and so charming. I slept well on the gorgeous antique bed and felt cool in the warm summer. I enjoyed a bath in the clawfoot tub along with the herb bath salts left for me. Note that the third floor has slightly steeper stairs than the second floor. I appreciated that each guest was given a set of keys to their room, the outside door, and the garden, which made me feel safe and secure as a single traveler. The hotel is a short walk to the main street of Sainte Genevieve, which is very cute and has a variety of restaurants, shops, and museums to enjoy. The innkeepers were very helpful and had lots of information to share about the town. I was able to get dinner on a Sunday evening. I just wish I had more time! Hope to stay again soon, thank you!

Three of my friends left the next morning and wouldn't even sleep under the covers. All the buildings had a musty smell. we were having a reunion here and I drove three other people or I would have left the next morning. happy Hour didn't have a bar tender. the food was meh. All that would have been no big deal, but there is no way around biotoxin illness from mold. Everyone in the cabin left sick. We were offered a different cabin but they all stunk! The real kicker? I was offered $25 off my entire bill which is a slap in the face for what we endured. STAY AWAY from this pace for your health!

There's also a jetted hot tub, and a decent workout room (2 treadmills, 2 elliptical, 2 stationary bike, weight rack, bench, and yoga mats). Breakfast is included which usually consisted of eggs, sausage patty, roasted potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. There also yogurt, toast/bagels/pastry, 2 waffle makers, oatmeal with toppings, coffee, and more. In the early evening, there is a small buffet and drink tickets for 3 adult drinks, a soda fountain, etc. Food usually was hotdogs, taco bar or bbq. The staff is very friendly. We had a guest care person sit with us for one game of rummy before food service started. Throughout any food service, staff would walk around and ensure you were happy and warm you of service ending soon. We appreciated the friendliness and positivity.
