They also have a better pottery/pot selection than many local nurseries. Their Giant Calla Lilies are actually fairly priced considering how long it takes for those to size up and flower well. That said, prices in general are quite high, which would be easier to justify if the plant quality and expertise consistently matched the premium pricing. Plant health is usually pretty good overall, but I have still come across plants that were not especially healthy despite commanding top-tier prices, which is disappointing at those price points. The staff knowledge also feels fairly average overall. I once had an employee confidently tell me that Red Maples do not grow well near intermittent creeks, which was surprising considering Red Maples are commonly found in wet areas throughout much of the Southeast and are even nicknamed "swamp maple." Their Japanese Maples are also definitely overpriced considering you can get similarly sized specimens locally for much less, including at places like Get Rooted, which also has an excellent selection. Overall, the nursery is still worth visiting because the selection really is broad and varied. I just wish the pricing better reflected the average level of expertise and occasional inconsistencies in plant quality.

There is ample parking out front. The shop is well organized even with having outdoor and several indoor retail areas. We easily found what we were looking for and then had a smooth checkout process. While we felt the $150 fee was fair to come look at the property /project I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars more on fancy design fees before a shovel was put in the ground. Working with their lead landscape design associate we agreed to move forward. After several weeks of back and forth we came up with an agreed design. Also note it took over 1 month to get the landscape lead ideas after the site visit. To be fair (maybe), the initial email sent by them was not emailed to me due to their error and only after my repeated followup was this discovered and back on course... Maybe this was my 1st warning sign... Once they had most of the type of plants in stock we came to the garden center to look at some of the plants in the suggested design. From there we made a few adjustments and looked forward to a quote and timetable. This is where the service seemed to go sideways - again. Thru much of the process the communication was slow - unanswered emails & phone calls, and business days with no firm commitment on the basic plan or quote. As time passed and we took it upon ourselves to remove some of the existing/aged plantings which caused us to rethink some of the new plantings so when were able to talk with the staff directly we agreed on any adjustments and again waited eagerly for the quote and a date. Entering May we drove to Atlantic to attempt to pin down a quote and date. To be fair - again - my wife and I did make a few changes along the way, some by our own doing and some based on suggestions from the staff. We made our best efforts to stay in touch with the staff even thru some personal family matters on our side both local and out of town and decided to make yet another trip to try to pin this down. When we arrived the design lead came out to greet us and basically said the garden center was no longer interested in doing the project! My wife was very upset and said "they're fired" with lots of hindsight... We were shocked and extremely disappointed. After months of efforts by both parties they walked away from several thousand dollars of work and left us at square one. Needless to say they will never get any future business from us and probably others if I'm ever asked my opinion. As karma turns out, that same day we went to a more customer Friendly garden center in north raleigh, had a wonderful experience and had plants in our driveway the next day. I'm sure AG will have their side of the story, but as I was taught, I think WE were the customer...

What I got in result were florals and arrangements even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! The pieces used for our ceremony were stunning, and I loved that we were able to have them moved during the reception to enjoy them even more! My bouquet (I believe it was made by Amanda) and my MOH bouquets were gorgeous. I wish I could have frozen them in time and kept them forever. I especially loved how they incorporated my favorite flower, peonies, into the bouquet and different table arrangements.
